Yes, it's much easier to change numbers around in an attempt to balance something than it is to fix bugs. Fact remains that there are tons of weapons that have underperformed since the demo. Human sentinal is still asari adept without the stasis. Human soldier is pretty useless if you don't give it a super gun (that could make -any- class good). Etc.

My theory? They jumped on fixing QI and Geth quickly because no one will pay them real money for station cash/origin credits/etc if they can make credits quickly on gold runs. The other inbalances that have been going on since beta don't affect their pockets, so they remain pretty low on the priority chain. Who cares if they don't work? They just don't want anything that works -too- well.

Ok have the balance changes introduced a glitch.

Had a maxed out Asari adept, before patch was able to throw kill on bronze effectively.
Now just played vs Geth and only 10% were actually having an effect, a lot doing 0 damage.

Could be lag, or that overload-removes-warp-issue some have been informing us about (I'm still not sure that exists).

It's just the way Human/Turian Soldiers are designed, their main ability is based off weapon damage so you're going to be incredibly gear dependant. There's also not really that many demo weapons that at least one class can't do good with. 2 SMGs and the Viper. Maybe the Claymore too, though it has enough damage per shot people could probably make it work.

When is this patch coming live for the 360, or is it done server side somehow? Because there was no game update yet...

Ah yes, thanks Bryan. Eric clarified it for me. I was just unsure how you guys managed those types of updates and how the net code actually works (i.e. what does it really mean to be 'hosting' a game). :)

WTF? Why was sabatoge nerfed so bad? I haven't even unlocked a quarian influtrator yet, now it doesn't seem to matter.

They make minor changes to balance, yet don't touch on the bigger problems.  For example, the abundance of vanguard glitches that makes the class far less playable if you're not the host.

Making geth stronger is cool.  Also, while the quarian was certainly problematic, I find their approach to fixing it questionable.  The single biggest problem with the quarian's design isn't that it's good against geth... it's that its Sabotage is severely disproportionately effective against a single faction.  There should not be any characters which are reliant on fighting a certain faction in order for their abilities to be useful at all, particularly when there are so many characters which are not so handicapped (such as the Salarian Infiltrator)

Bioware (rightfully) balanced the game out. It was ridiculously easy to consistently win Gold matches against the Geth when using specific characters.

I noticed however that even on Silver now, the Geth can be rather painful to verse.

My feelings are that they broke the class. They tried to do too much all at once. It should have been done one thing at a time until the PLAYERS were happy. Though I was happy with it as it stood. It was good for one enemy type and pretty much that's it. It was sub-par for the others. Now there is no reason to choose it at all. Perhaps the devs will consider their folly and undo the changes. It really was hurting nobody as you could always make a lobby with a different enemy type or find a team without them (I entered plenty of rooms where I was the lone QI).

I think geth hunters are very strong now. Also Banshees grab and insta-kill too much imo. Seems to happen alot more than with phantoms. I realize this is the threat of the banshee, but they charge at me and grab so quickly I get pulled back from a roll-backwards animation (due to slight lag obv, no ping is perfect), but it's too unforgiving in such scenarios. I wouldn't mind a slightly lower grab rate.

I hope backfire is noticable now, on sabotage. And I believe having sabotage only affect 1 geth at a time, and not let that geth tank for you was correct. Adding the cooldown nerf on top was too severe. Take it more slowly .. you fixed the blatant overpoweredness, the cooldown of 8 seconds should stay until next patch - and then be nerfed to 10-12-14 if needed... No reason to rush it.

Yeah.. be abit more conservative with the changes, please. I feel this redesign of sabotage went abit overboard due to the fear of easy gold farming.. and i'm not a infiltrator kind of guy, so i probably won't touch the infiltrator for a while, if ever, anyway. I just happen to have a little experience with the quarian infiltrator cause I unlocked her early on and wanted to toy around with sabotage to try it out a few days ago.

I'd be happy if they got rid of sticky grenades for the QI and gave something like cryo blast in its place. More effective against organics and you could get some team synergy going on.

Either that or fix the grenade replenish system so that the reload timer starts as soon as you throw a grenade instead of a soon as you visit an ammo box or however it functions. I don't spam them, but it's annoying when you get into a sticky situation and then you have to wait so long just to get them back.
