So unless one has a more or less perfect ME1 and ME2 game to import, there does not appaer to be a way to make it to the 'good' ending of ME3 unless you spend hours on multiplayer or spend hours with the iOS apps (Data Pad and the other one). That is assuming that you even have an iPad/iPhone to run the app.
Don't know what BW was thinking. But after what EA did to Dragon Age, and now apparently to Mass Effect, I suspect that I will not purchase any more games from EA. Its very sad. I enjoyed ME2. Was so looking forward to ME3.

I know, I love them. But what I meant is, you can read them in any order and you understand about 99% completely, unlike ME3 or other real series where if you miss a part the entire thing makes no sense. (Hell, many things in ME3 were bad without import even if you know what happened, which is why I will replay it with a save I downloaded),Kilshrek wrote...
Good, cause if you had a problem with Discworld, we'd need to have words.Tirigon wrote...
Tbh Lord of the Rings is the only real series I know that didnt get worse with every sequel, and that is only because it was written in one go back then. (I dont count series in which each part stands on its own, like Discworld, by the way).
Thats what I meant with "was written in one go back then"B)And LOTR the book, was actually a whole book, not a series. It was broken up because the publisher wasn't so sure such a massive tome would sell well, and we know how that turned out.
Although the comparisons between books and games must stop. Even an interactive adventure book can only offer so many options within its pages, with you, the reader, keeping track of them.
Games have so much more potential than books in offering an interactive story, one that truly reacts to your every decision, and one that, at the end of it, reflects those decisions. ME 2 did it fine, you upgrade the right things, do the right missions, pick the right people for the job, everyone comes out alive. ME 3 however, does no such thing.
I dont think they need to, because both are means of storytelling. Sure, games can offer more choices. But if that comes at the cost of the story being crap then, well, the story is crap and I take a good book instead every time.
Also, as you said yourself, ME3 doesnt really handle your choices well (especially, as with all bad things about it, at the ending).
But at any rate, what I meant was simply that series tend to go down, and that is surely no different in games compared to books. Look at Battle for Middle Earth, and the 2nd one which sucked. Look at the Elder Scrolls series, which improved graphics and gameplay but got worse lorewise (Morrowind is so much better than Skyrim and Oblivion in that aspect...)
Or look at Dragon Age, with Origins being one of the best RPGs ever made, and DA2 being by far a worse disappointment than any other game ever (yes, including ME3s ending).

I love 95% of the story.
I love the Multiplayer.
I HATE the ending.
The creators would be wise to rewrite that ****. They're better than this. Better to admit mistake, screw the ending and write a new on in proper quality like a winner rather than act like losers afraid to admit they were wrong.

Too bad its impossible. ME without Mass Relays is kinda pointless, and they are all gone....
Well I guess they could release "Mass Effect: The epic ending we should have made part of 3 but release as separate game because EA loves money".

NO. ME3 is like a beautiful woman who talks you up, moves into the bedroom with you, undresses seductively... fondles you a bit... and just before the moment of truth: LEAVES! Without explanation!
ME3 is like a woman who tells you that it's your birthday, so you can do anything you want to do.
So you journey to the bedroom and she lays three options out for you - do you think she looks best in the red dress, blue dress or green dress?
End of game.

LOL Right!
Only I didn't even get the green dress option because I didn't engage in enough foreplay (MP).

Always look on the bright side: That lesson might improve your sex life, and if you dont need that, I am sure there are some people with a bad one playing ME3 as well

I think you're forgetting that whatever choice you choose she ends up exploding on you, throwing all your stuff on the lawn and burning it in a fire, and then blowing up the house.

In all previous games, your grinding and hard work pay off, it means something. In ME3 it does not. It really doesn't matter what you do, they threw all paragon and renegade functionality out the window.
and like my brother Krogan said above, it was no ending at all. a dream sequence of a story being told?! thats a "I didn't know how to end it, so I punted" ending if I ever saw an ending to the game.
I took ME 3 out of my drawer for the 1st in almost two weeks and am considering what I'm going to play instead of ME3.
