That said the first game has already gotten a choke hold on me to such a degree that I'll still be playing it by then! I mean seriously, this game should come with a special warning on the box to anyone with a heavy workload.

On one hand, I understand why people feel motivated to make these threads, but on the other hand...these threads are not really necessary.
Let's not kid ourselves, people. The only "thank you's" that really matter to Bioware at the end of the day is the sweet jingle in their pockets from the sales of DA (which have been going very well as far as I know).
I don't think that's true. Most, if not all, of the devs are already paid for their work on the game. Whether it flops or is a hit best seller won't affect their income. I think a personal thanks from the player base means a lot more than you're giving credit for.
If the game had tanked in the sales dep't, no amount of "thank you's" or gushing praise from us devoted fans would amount to a hill of beans as far as Bioware is concerned.
See above. I firmly believe an expression of appreciation means a lot to the people that worked for years on the game and put a lot of love, care, and effort into it.
Besides, most game developers have developed thick skins. Also, the game developers have a secret weapon...an added form of protection, in addition to their thick skins...the fanboys !!!

The most militant Bioware fans on this forum have adopted an attitude of "let's just dismiss it or ignore it" when it comes to the posts which are critical of Dragon Age in any way. Ever are they quick to rush in to battle with the words "troll" or "stupid moron" on their lips if anyone who dares to criticize rears their head on this domain.
"Never darken the portals of my abode again, Trolly Mctrollerson !"
While this is true to an extent, there are a lot of complainers that choose to couch their complaints in foul language and insults. This type of thing occurs on both sides. While I personally think this is a fantastic game and worth every penny I spent on it, I'm also very aware that there are issues with it as well. I've had the game crash on me 4 or 5 times already, I do believe there's a memory leak problem with it, the camera sometimes glitches on me so that it will not switch from over-the-shoulder to strategy view and vise versa, and there are various other minor issues I've noticed as well. Yet despite that, I'll still score this game higher than anything I've played in many years due to the sheer fun I'm having with it, the story, the characters, etc.
I think there's a big problem now though in that anyone who complains about a game is automatically labeled a 'hater' or 'troll', and anyone who defends or praises a game is labeled a 'fanboi'. It's unfortunate things have come to this point, since even if people seriously want to discuss the good and bad points of a game, the thread is usually derailed.

To T1| and others,
You're welcome. We're glad you enjoy Dragon Age: Origins.
Sincerely,
Us.
Thank you very much for the reply. It means a great deal to me to know that my thanks was received and acknowledged. Again; my sincerest thanks for Dragon Age and the continued support you give to the community. I cannot think of another developer that gives the same level of dedication and respect to their fans. Everyone who works at Bioware deserves a huge pat on the back for a job not just well done, but a job performed to a standard of excellence.
Thank you again,
Til.

Seriously though, aside from a few minor quibbles, Dragon Age is definitely one of the best CRPGs I've ever played. I especially love the setting itself, and all the lore and detail that was put into it. I hope we'll see many more DA games to take advantage of this wonderful world you've given us.

I completely agree.. My favorite was Mass Effect, but DA:O has beaten it. I'm looking forward to another better game to beat DA:O in the future, nice work Bioware =)sunspirits wrote...
When people enjoy what they do it shines through in their work. I am betting most over at BioWare love their jobs, and why shouldn't they? My favorite game used to be KOTOR1, but this has surpassed that on many levels. A hearty thanks to those who have made this such an enjoyable experience for us all.

Today I was at Walmart. I went to the home entertainment section and started looking at all of the games. Strangely enough, I had no urge to buy any of them. I knew when I got home, I had Dragon Age.
That's never happened to me before.

Dragon age is the BEST GAME i ever played.
A movie must be made of this game! (normaly is the oposite)
The story is far better than Lord of the Rings!
This is far better than "thank you"
