Which ones really better?

I mean starfang is 14.90 dmg(after considering the +3 dmg)  and has 3 slots instead of 2 and +3 dex +2.5 armor penetration

Spellweaver is 10.50 dmg and has 2 slots but has +3 electricity dmg +5 magic & +1 mana regen and +10% spell resistance

Basically seems to be highest dmg sword vs. good dmg sword with good stats?

Not sure which one to use

Though I guess I could use spellweaver and pass the starfang onto Allistar and then everyone wins? lol

Dual Wield?

Ah, wait you are an Arcane Warrior, yes? Well, Starfang is superior on paper in my estimation but the Spellweaver certainly has attributes that would benefit your build more specifically. With the right runes, you should be able to customize either one into what you need.

Starfang is probably a little better, but Spellweaver is nice RP-wise for an Arcane Warrior at least. And really, as an Arcane Warrior, you are powerful enough that you could probably use Olaf's Prized Cheese Knife and still easily beat every fight in the game anyway.

Do paralyze runes stack like the dmg ones do?

If you put 3 grandmaster ones on 1 sword would that basically make practically every hit immobilize the opponents?

Not to change the orginal subject, but I never encountered Starfang in my playthrough, thought i'm guessing that it has something to do with a certain space rock and Wardens Keep?

If that is the case, then that sucks. I never found a really good sword, and it would have been nice to have found something like Blessed of the Daystar or something. There were some pretty nice axes and daggers at higher lvls, but no swords.

All you do is keep traveling back and forth between the city you get shale in and wardens keep

Eventually you will get a random encounter with the asteroid thing and just loot the meteor in the crater and bring it to the keeps blacksmith to have him turn it into starfang

Indeed. You have to have WK installed to get Starfang. It's true that there aren't a ton of good swords in the game though.

Spellweaver > Starfang, given that you're an ArcWar. The +5 Mag goes to your damage anyways.

The 2h Starfang is a much better use of the ore, anyways, there's plenty of better 1h blades.

Oh, Paralyze runes do NOT stack on the same weapon.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I'm not in a hurry to pay for Warden's Keep however.

Yeah... what 1 handed sword is better then Starfang?  I'd also love to know... and plenty of them?  I feel stupid then that I found none.  Please, fill us in.

There are no better ones, but there are some very good ones. And you have to pay for Starfang, twice(for each of the DLCs) while you get those for free. It's rather reasonable it and its twohanded counterpart are the best weapons of their type in the game. I personally refuse to use either, because I don't care much for having the most powerful items barely 10 hours into the game that lasts more than 50, but if they were worse than what you can get for free, I imagine many people would be quite angry.

Starfang is requires WK which is $7 USD, I don't consider that free?

There's two considerations in evaluating 1h Starfang.

The alternatives are Keening Blade and Topsider's Honor. Keening is comparable, Topsider's Honor is obviously good against Undead and for building resists.

The other, major factor, is that relative to 2h Starfang, it's a huge waste. While the stats are good on the 1h, the Dex and minor AP boost is not exactly what you need.

Given the minor upgrade and the superior 2h Starfang, 1h Starfang is an inferior choice.

Stupid question maybe , how do you get your avatars armor to actually update? My avatar is wearing default lvl 1 armor still... even though that character beat the game and runs around in legion armor actually

Both spellweaver and Starfang look way to....strange i wish spellweaver looked like topsiders honor a simple blade, are maby the black sword you get from ancient history its not very good but it looks very cool, iv never been a big fan of katanas like spellweaver so it kinda hurts my overall feeling for the sword.we also need some good maces

You're on the console version, like me. Xbox 360 versions don't update.. Sadly.

I believe that Spellweaver is better than starfang for AW. Enemy spells(disabler ones) are pretty annoying, and that 10% resist is good to have. Plus the 5 magic goes to both your sustained abilities potential and raw damage.

On the other hand, an equal weapon to starfang for a warrior is the one Gaxkang drops... Quite awsome a blade. To be honest, there are enough nice weapons for all kinds of parties to go round, though I don't remember them all.. I always had a couple spare swords in my inventory because I was unsure which would be best... Differences are minimal in quite a few cases...
