I think getting Buzz Aldrin to voice the Stargazer was BRILLIANT!!! I thought the scene was a nice bit of icing on the cake, very classy. Unfortunately the ending negated any of the scene's redeeming quality. Without closure, the stargazer scene becomes a mild irritant. The insult to injury.

I think it's some sort of relative of shepard

I was indifferent on the part. I did not see that scene as the entire Mass Effect trilogy was some old man tell his grandson the story, I saw it as even years in the future, people are still talking about and remembering Shepard's sacrifices and heroism.

I think a lot of people don't see that the grandpa part could be tacked onto any quality of ending. It works for the one where Shepard makes love to the Citadel and the more logical one that we're hoping for. Who says grandfathers won't tell stories about Shepard in the far future?

Would've been a perfect time for him to sum up what your Shepard did and what effects he had. Instead we get those lines.

I hope Grandpa is suffering from Alzheimer...

awfull, and even if it was joker he somehow survived on a remote planet with no food, or water for 60 years, and he somehow healed his bone marrow disease

i really like that the kid called us "The Shepard" though. it's like we were jesus (he was called the shepherd) or something, leading and protecting the galaxy (herd).

yeah, a descendant of Joker, EDI, Garrus (unless dead in me2), Tali (unless dead in me2), Kaiden/Ashley, and... wait, what?
At the very least that is some serious f'ing inbreeding going on.
And no way are those people descendants of shepard... not for femshep anyway unless Kaiden was the first pregnant human male or something.

people are really digging deep to analyze it. its not joker, its not shepard or jokers kids, or descendants its just an old dude telling shepards story to a kid.
it honestly means nothing.

The epilogue is good.
I think a lot of people complaining are like doctor house, they analise everything WAY TOO MUCH.
It doesnt matter who the man and child are, it doesnt matter where they are, it doesnt matter when it is. It is a symbolic gesture, and a nice one.
'The Shepard'
An example of extreme over-analysis.

I was too busy feeling numb to really process what he was saying, I distinctly remember thinking, "Shut up, gramps!" though. I really don't care about an old man telling his grandson a story, I want to know what happened to my crew.

I thought it was the only redeemable part of the ending. It's interesting to think that in the even farther future Shepard becomes one of those "the" nouns, the Citadel, the Crucible, the Reapers, the Shepard.
yeah it was the only bit of the ending i liked
Plus its freaking Buzz Aldrin!
Too bad Alan Shepard wasn't alive to do it.
Thank god your the only other person who noticed.. yea Allen Shepard would have been perfect too..
hehe

I'm just pretending it's a hint to suggest that there was more to Shepards story after the crappy endings.

I don't know why they got Buzz Aldrin, one of the coolest dudes ever, and thought "you know what, this scene should be super creepy and weird."

Most ridiculous after credits 'secret ending' I've seen for a videogame, or movie.
