I don't see any proof but that certainly is more aligned how the rest of the writing in the Mass Effect series has been and is certainly an exponentially better ending. I mean it gives more information about the galaxy, it makes our choices ... somewhat matter, it actually seems like a real ending and not a kick in the face which is always good.

There is one thing that would give weight to this idea. Right before the missiles are launched at the Reaper blocking the beam, or thereabouts, Anderson mentions over the comm that Harbinger is breaking off from Sword fleet and coming to Earth. A point that never comes up again in the remainder of the story. If it was important enough to mention...why is that the last we hear of it?

This would have been amazing...actually explain the Reapers' motives, bring in Harbinger, give me a choice, take into account my reputation. I would have loved this ending.

Well we did get shot point blank by harbinger right before entering the portal.

Legitimate or not, this sounds more plausible than what we got. Especially with more focus on Harbinger. His lack of presence really made me wonder.

If we can find out if this is legit or not and it is legit, I vote we start a fund/campaign whatever to get this put back in.

These are the endings that should have been in the game. They are so much better in every single way. I wish Bioware would read this. I know that's extremely unlikely but still.

In my head, this is how the endings play out. Seriously. If Bioware doesn't give us a free DLC fix to this disaster, I will simply continue imagining these endings, which actually give the player choice, bring in Harbinger and don't rely on some stupid deus ex machina star child.

I'd have loved it just for this little bit with Anderson.

It explains why they mention Harbinger specifically, for the FIRST TIME IN THE GAME. Right before all that went down.

IT would have coincided perfectly.

I fail to see the point, I'm sure a lot was changed during Mass Effect 3 development.

I guess it's more indications and assumptions than actual proof, but then again I am very inclined to believe it.

My assumption that this ending was rushed comes from the fact that the final "room" where you make your decision is incredibly hastily and shoddily made. It has components (such as pillars) that have been rehashed from other textures of the game, they even make no sense being there! (some have M106M or something like that written on it, and seems like one of the support beams to the 'houses' in that Brenning world).

Also, if you deviate just a bit from the path you will be meet by a "hall of mirrors", i.e that the background texture will go all woobly and replicate itself into thousands identical images overlaying each other, which is an indication of poor rendering.

Simply put, that last room seems to have been made in quite the hurry.

I'm gonna agree with this here.  The ending does seem a bit rushed and improperly done.  Personally, I'm not disappointed with the game.  A little disappointed with the endings, yes, but not entirely with the whole game and with BioWare too.  I'm incredibly pleased with the combat, and everything EXCEPT the ending is unbelievably glorious in my opinion.

However, BW should indeed feel some shame over this.  They already pushed it back because they couldn't finish it in time for the holiday season.  They seriously should have just pushed it back another month or three again to ensure that it was finished properly.

And, for the record, I'm thinking EA is to blame for that, not BioWare.  EA has screwed around with games in the past, and especially with their restrictive, ridiculous online pass for every single game, THEY are usually the ones to blame for fans being mad about a game.

Just putting in my two cents.

Oh man, this ending would have been awesome. I mean it has real differences and closure and consequences and everything.

Here's a question, If EA is to blame (which seems likely) Why would they do this? Seriously Who at EA thought doing a last minute change like this to one of the most important parts of the most anticipated game of the year would be a good idea.

Although this is in no way proof, nor do I really believe it is true, it does fit. And this ending is almost exactly what I would want. Especially the harbinger part.

If it means anything... anything at all, which I'm sure it probably wont... Bioware, I hope you see this.

This is something I was actually looking for. This! make sense! especially the part where reapers states their true motives. It would be much better, it gives closure, yet still gives a field for interpretations. Like shep reunion with his/her LI! It's still not disney like ending. And we have a face 2 face with the enemy!!! OMG. I want this! <3

Having read the leaked scripts, I can definitely vouch for some of this having been in the game at some point.

Even if it's fake, it's better than the original ending.

They said plenty of times that there would be an ending where the Reapers could win.

There isn't.

This would have been a perfect ending. If it really was or not is moot..it SHOULD have been more along these lines than what we got.

Yeah, I like this better than the Indoctrination theories, even. They should just retcon it to this in a free patch. I would really, really get behind this.

i kinda liked the catalyst bein the citadel can accept shepard dyin can even accept the mass relays bein destroyed but i just wanna know does the earth and all other planets with a relay get destroyed and the ppl who got away on the normandy all thats left or what, and i'm glad not the only one who noticed the lack of harbringer.

Like, can we keep bumping this thread? This ending would have been a home run for Bioware and the Mass Effect series, and still preserved the tragedy of the sacrifice while also maintaining a sense of the player's choices all amounting to something.

Sounds like something EA would do. "Just give them this ending and go." "But what about the oth" "no time! Ship Now!"

This would have made the games replay valuethrough the roof, as it is I feel like I'm pulling teeth to get through the second playthrough. Partly because i already got the "good ending" on the first go around. That would also explain why at the end they started to focus on harbringer and then just stoped. Hopfully there is DLC of these endings if this is true.
