There's been a few threads about persistance and patience..

But anyone think they're just waiting for the storm to blow over? From study with psychology the best way to avoid a conflict is to distance yourself from it and say nothing, period.

What if they're just sitting there waiting for us to give up? Because I've seen mutliple people lately starting to move from depression or anger into the 'acceptance' category.

I for one am not and never will, the day I accept this is the day I give up on Bioware completely and I have too much history with them to give up so easily. In that light, I'm fighting for them.

Thoughts?

Well, if you think they are testing you, it would perhaps be worth assembling on the street for a (peaceful, respectful and mature) gathering all around the world.

I am not suggesting anything, I am pointing out that this would get a lot of publicity.

I'm going to see what happens with the DLC. It could be the decider on my future with Bioware if im totally honest.

I study psychology so... If people accept that nothing will be done, they actually accept that Bioware is not making good games anymore. So yes, they can ignore fans but it will sooner or later bite the company back if nothing is done and they probably know it too.

I think the most important thing to do right now is to keep the pressure up.

While it's unrealistic to expect a response to be right away, the last thing we want to do is let they say "See? I told you this whole thing would just blow over"

Oh, I completely think that's what's going on. They're hoping we care less and ultimately accept what happened.

I believe this is a bad approach. I think "Hold the Line" will be true for many people. If people were this invested for hundreds of hours, and got this ending, with so many people feeling depressed and betrayed...I know I personally am feeling better about the ending just from all the work and solace from my fellow fans. I expect the passion and opinions to have long term effects if not dealt with.

"

This, exactly this.

Of course they're waiting for us to give up, they're a gaming company. Ignoring the fact that they've literally ignored every argument presented to them and only supported any argument for them, the easiest thing for any gaming company to do is simply to try and ignore the problem until it goes away.

People eventually stop because this is a game and they have more important things to do like get on with their life. So if you truly want to change the endings then prepare to be in it for the long run because they're waiting it out too and the only thing to do in that case is to keep the pressure up.

READ MY FRIEND!

Here's why the ending is bad. Let's make it clear to avoid confusion. (Mass Effect 3 - Mass Effect 3 Story and Campaign Discussion (Spoilers Allowed)) | BioWare Social Network

Assuming this isn't some grand ploy, then yes. It's always the first step in a PR crisis, you crawl into a bunker, give a single vague statement meant to promise resolution without actually committing to anything, then wait to see if this is just a blip that will work itself out.

It's not even wrong of them to do this, to be honest. You have to make sure the problem is real and not a just a small, loud group of people making a pointless racket. Even if the underlying concerns are genuine, you don't want to engage a volatile angry fringe, you wait for the storm to blow over and *then* fix the problems (or not, depending on this issue).

On the other hand, if it becomes evident that you are dealing with a very real PR crisis from a broad chunk of the customer base, then you make good on the earlier promise and engage the customers. So we can't really judge them for their reaction *quite* yet, but we do need to stay vocal AND civil if we want them to engage us directly and openly.

Just hang in there, something will happen.

... Even if it's just a bunch of modders fixing things up at a later date.

How on earth would Bioware ever be able to "break" EA?
I have no idea what's going at Bioware atm. They might be trying to wait it out, they might be doing damage control or they might be getting ready to make a statement.
The drop in unit price probably means that we will be seeing some sort of statement from either Bioware or EA sooner rather than later.

The only problem is, the longer they keep their head in the sand, the more people feel like civility is getting them nowhere.

Exactly, and when this happens, they will totally dismiss everything because people were inappropriate. That's why it's so effective and such a grind for us.

But ofcourse, you can finance them with that bulgarian penny in your piggybank. Gogogo, we need you as a publisher.<_<
