I got done in a little over 70 hours. Listened to all dialogue, did everything in the game that can be done.Didn't really rush, but the game is pretty linear.

Check your heroics in char screen and tell us how much of the game (top) have you completed and how much of the world (bottom) have you explored.
For instance, my first char has 105 hrs, 61% Amount of Dragon Age Origins complete and 95% World Explored.

Hmmm on my first playthrough I did everything except the DLC and it only took me 61 hours...Never skipped any cutscenes or dialogue either...I Dont understand how people can expand it that much...do you go afk for like 5 hours every time you play it or something sheesh?
Well, check your heroics stats in char screen and let us know how much of it you've done/explored. I am sure ppl are missing some stuff, taking the faster solution in some situations and perhaps even missing some codex triggered quests that do require some backtracking, after some exploration to get the entries in first place.

There was one I mentioned hopefully without spoiling it too much and now this one which I totally miss in my first playthrough and suits my alignment a whole lot better than simply blindly taking sides...

I finished the game at around 60 hours, but that was because I ended up wanting to see the end of the game and didn't do a lot of the side quests. Will do them later, using one of the save games.
I'm in the same boat as you are,
But moreso on topic, I my first playthrough went for about 60-65 hours in total, with at least half of the side-quests completed. My guess is that people who take longer either - pause it for extended periods of time, walk everywhere, enjoy getting ambushed to try and find that extremely rare axe, or explore every nook and cranny as I did. I'm trying to push into the 70's with my Dalish,

How the hell can you guys spend that many hours on a a single play through? My first playthrough took 42 hours and I did every sidequest that I could find (which was close to if not all of them, I was very thorough).
I'm not even trying to brag. I just don't see how it is possible.
Calling shenanigans here, you must've be whacking the escape button in every dialogue or something. I'm 40 hours in and I've only completed one Blight quest so far, and I haven't done every side quest I have availbale to me yet.

That can't be it, I found the codex boring as sin so I haven't touched it.
As a sidenote I think it's cool you can actually roleplay in this game because there's enough content. My guy's turned down many side quests because he wouldn't do them; he's a a big noble sword & shield warrior. However, I've still got so much to do. I may do a run-through with someone like Sten who just wants to get on with it next. Or maybe a guy who got strong-armed into being a grey-warden and is just determined to use his position to fleece people as much as possible.

I've played 20 hours in 3 days and the game says I have only completed 8% of the game... I'll get 200 hours out of this title because I search every nook and cranny and also do almost all side quests, just spent 2 hours at Wardens Keep this afternoon and still not finished with that DLC.
Thank you Bioware for a mind blowing experience slash addiction!!
Finished my first complete playthrough yesterday - 159 hours
I played on 'hard', and still only did a couple of the complete character storylines, so plenty still to go at. I'm 30+ hours into a Ranger playthrough, and am just making an Arcane Warrior.
On my first game, I read every Codex entry, and replayed many battles to try out different tactics, and often reloaded if any of my party dies - I don't like deaths.
I also spent a lot of time in bed with Morrigan and Leliana, which can take some time when you are a perfectionist

There is going back to places to see if dialog and settings change after you complete something somewhere else (they often do at least once)
There is running around because you are so low on money and supplies you have to find some of the "random" encounters you get during travel and you need to visit several locations to get the items you are looking for / the best deals (they don't all sell at the same price, those merchants.)
There can be getting a quest that sends you around the map and you leave immediately on it. Now I, personally, try my best to clear out an area before leaving it to do stuff (even from said area) elsewhere, but I can totally see playing it "the only way you can play a Bethesda game" - i.e. you get a quest, you immediately put on blinders and only do that before talking to anyone else for more!
There are probably quests you can't get as a mage or warrior or rogue, for example, though I could be wrong having only played the rogue so far. I know jobs and missions I'm getting in Denerim sure seem tailored for thief-types - but then I did do some summoning stuff at the Circle Tower, so maybe I'm wrong.
I know that I didn't do the Proving area stuff at all, so I've not done everything.
And I still haven't completed WK - not really. Sure, it took me just over an hour to do the storyline there, but I go back there repeatedly to buy and store stuff.
There are tons of people to talk to who say things that do not have quests tied to them. There is stopping everytime the party starts banter and just doing nothing while listening. There's taking a moment to just pan and look at the beautiful scenery or architecture when you first enter a new area. There is adjusting your tactics screens or equipment for different battles.
Different play styles lead to different play lengths. Some people like completing things fast. Some people hate the dialog. Some don't care about the codex or the banter or the view. Some don't micromanage at all and play the battles more or less real-time. There are many ways to play the game super-fast and not really "miss" content.

The only way you did that is if you didn't read any of the journal entry's. You certainly didn't do all of the side quests that are possible through exploration or just plain in sight ones. You definetly had the game on Easy mode, which is just kinda dumb IMO. You looked online for the answer to everythign that you got stuck on.
I played the first half of the game on normal and the later parts on hard. I didn't read any of the codexs, but I ended the game with the total completion at about 85%, 97% of the world explored (got the traveler achievement right before the final fight I'm playing on a 360)
I don't understand why you are doubting this. Where could I have gotten stuck? The game is very straightforward.
EDIT: I just went back and checked my % complete. It says 100% now. I guess that's because I did all the origin stories....so I either did all the sidequests on my first playthrough (don't remember) or I did all of them throughout all my guys (probably)
Some things to consider?
PC or console? Subtitles on or off? Because I am horrible bigot, I would assume you are on a console and flipped through the conversations as fast as you could, which would reduce the play time quite a bit and you ran from fight to fight. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, since it is not a contest and you had no less fun than anyone else, but that might explain it.

Where did all the time go:
I'm playing on the pc and not steamrolling through the game with an uber three mage artillery platform party set up. Have a balanced party of a tank, two dps, and a pure healer (Wynne), and I tend to pull conservatively ...scout, set up ambushes, traps etc. Since this is still my first playthrough I do some reloads on conversations, doing almost all the sidequests and backtracking to old areas to see if npcs have anything new to say. I also spend time reading the codex (I like it a lot) and do careful searches/talk to everyone in every new map I'm on.
@ people who balk at others taking their time:
You play your game your way, we play it ours. The devs spent an inordinate amount of time and dare I say it--love, in crafting this gameworld, and it shows. Dragon Age isn't perfect, but in my opinion it is masterfully put together. I can't speak for everybody else who's taking their time, but I intend to give the game the time and attention it deserves.

Clocked in 110 hours already, and I just got my last treaty. At this rate I'm guessing I'll be done somewhere in the 140+ hr mark.
