I played for about 80 hours and had over 90% of the world explored. I can only assume that the other 10% is companion quests. On my second play through now, should be interesting to see if i missed anything.

Wow, I can't believe how long some of you guys are taking. My first playthrough only took me ~35 hours. Granted I skipped a lot of the sidequests that I've been doing on my other lowbie characters, so it will be interesting to see how long things take when I actually do most of the stuff.

I tryed to see your character's story but you've set it to private. Anyway, these may answer you. If you say you played Oblivion, I'd say you one of those who finished Main Quest at level 1 without ever doing anything in the game, am I right? I have 2 chars with over 500 hours each in that game. Granted, I cannot even think of playing it again and I already feel sick. TES4 is far from my favorite game.

I am sure that 100+ hours here doesn't mean reading all the codex, as I skipped most of it and reloading does not count towards play time. I did went through all the dialogues with immersive attention and I'm glad I did it too.

Just finished my first playthrough. 92 hours, 96% of the world explored. Great!!! I can see how play time can be reduced to about 60h by playing faster and fighting more effective, but anything less than that is extreme. On the other side, this time I'm aiming for a complete Codex so it will take me even longer, maybe.

A game this big, a good storyline, and very moddable - I can see DA will have a very long life on my PC. :)

Same here...

I think total gold acquired might also be used to see how much off he game one's missed by rushing it. Or the guy just doesn't like gold. =)

2nd char, lvl 15, total gold 282 - spent at once 80 - world explored 48% - 50 hrs (doing 2nd ally treaty)

1st char, lvl 22, total gold 730 - spent at once 104- world explored 95% - 105 hrs (post coronation, no DLC)

This thread is admittedly making me worried that the console version is missing content. I finished the game on Normal in around 58 1/2 hours, doing as many sidequests as I could (IE trawling the area for as many as possible), listening to all the dialogue, reading all the codex entries, etc. I counted over 100 quests - maybe 125 - completed by the end of the game. I know the console version is easier in terms of combat, but would easier battles and playing combat in real-time really reduce the length by 20+ hours?

Lol, i sortta rushed through the game with my first char (City elf, rogue....double weapon kix butt BTW) to get a feel for the game and completed the game main line in under 40h as level 20Image IPB.  I'll be more thorough with my mage  :D.

BTW, the sloth Demon in the FADE....was almost an impossible MOFO, could only get him down on easy, that only me being a noob?

More like "inexperienced"... once you get more of it, Sloth is easy even in Nightmare... unless NM is really bugged... He has a tough mofo in my Hard run but in NM he couldn't kill even 1 of my party members!

Ohhh yes forget to mention the shopping factor, ive been spending about 1 hour out of an average 4 hour gaming session comparing anything and everything all the merchants have stocked, love studying all the stats and differences before purchasing or selling anything or just if I'm just browsing most of the scrap they all seem to have..LOL

At the moment I'm clocked in at 135:16:59 and I'm near done with acquiring my last army and heading off to the last round of stuff..I figure I'll clock in around 165ish for my first run. I've also been AFK and doing other stuff in the middle at points..but thankfully did not fall asleep with the game running this time, like I did Mass Effect :P

The sloth is a pain, don't want to post spoilers in here (as it's a non-spoiler forum) but make sure you have your full party available to you, and use the abilities and forms you've gained in the fade to their full extent when dealing with the Sloth Demon. It very much reminded me of Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and the use of their various skills and abiltiies to fight Freddy...don't know why, but it did, with that in mind, switch forms often, and fill in the roles your party's not doing as well at the moment.

well I am not sure how much my stopping to read codex entries and peeking into every possible corner I could find or going back to zones where I couldn't unlock everything so I went back with the npc who had all the lockpicking skill factored ... but anyhow finished first playthru at over 150 hours. :|  Talk about feeling some degree of accomplishment yet also a rather tiring experience. LOL

I am currently at about 68 hours with 20% of the game completed and 42% of the world explored.

This game is truly epic!

First playthrough - 75 hours, 94% of the world explored (what could I possibly have missed?!) 54% total completion. xfire says I played 98 hours though, so that's like 23 hours of reloads, retries, etc. xD

I guess I can shave a few hours off that though, because I did start a Dalish Elf Rogue and a Female Human Mage, completing most of their origins.

Been playing now for 57 hours with my mage and have done most of the quests as they have come up.  I am currently in the ruins in the Brecillian forest and have not tackled Orzammar yet so have a few more hours to go. I do read the whole codes which is quite fascinating; somebody has a great imagination there, but should recognise the debt to JRR Tolkien.

Yes thoroughly enjoying myself.  I played Oblivion for about 400 hours and Fallout 3, three games of at least 100 hours each. My daughter however has played all the main quests and is coming to the finish now thoug  she has only been playing for 65 hours or so.  There we go. Everyone plays differently, some race through to see what happens in the enda dn others of us just enjoy the whole thing.

Brilliant overall.  And I have not even started on DLC yet.

I've just had to go back and replay a large section of the game (I'd meta-gamed something and it broke my RP continuity, so I had to undo it) and I'm seeing stuff I completely missed just 10 hours ago with the same character in almost the same situation.

On my warrior it took me 52hours to complete the game on Normal. Only side quest I did not do was Leliana's and I did not do the quests for the Antivian Crows as it would stand against everything my toon stood for. I also did Wardens Keep and Shale (the whole questline)

I am on my 2nd run though the game, this time Wardens keep took me 20-30mins to complete. This time im running mage, mage assassin and warrior, and I am abusing all the CC abilities I can. Most boss mobs dies in seconds once they are hit by stun, walking bomb, a butt load of lightning, and an assassin with auto crit on incapacitated mobs.

I'm pretty sure it's not missing any content, however, if you play on normal on console, it's (as I've heard) supposed to be easier than normal on PC. This means that if you play normal and don't micromanage as much then it's going to be a lot shorter since your fights will be shorter.

I'm playing it on 360 on hard and I micromanage a lot, so a fight will take a lot longer than if I would be playing without pausing. Iäm about 40% in and ~40 hours.

So pause-play tactical combat will make it much longer than realtime.

I just finished my second playthrough completing almost all sidequests (although 3 of them bugeed) clocking in at 47 hours (and 7 mins). My first playthrough I missed a lot of content, and I ended up at 47 hours. I am currently doing my third, and I want to see if I do basically the same time again. :)
