You finish the game in less than 60 hours and you feel that you need to say "I'm not bragging"? thats ridiculous. I consider that your loss.

before you load the game, If you do everything and search every nook and cranny, read all codexes you can easily be set for 100 +....
that what I heard on the road anyhow, take it for what it is...

About to finish the game now, after a massive 70 hours and not nearly doing all the side quests and personal companion quests.
I have never EVER played a game that mid way through I was allready planing what origin I would have next time and how I would want to play the game... fantastic game!

My first play through was around 60h and 61% completion with over 75% of the side quests done. I am 4/5 of the way through what will be my second completion.
I have two more games half way done, and I have started another so that I can do a particular ending I can't discuss here because of the spoilers.

I beat it in 26 hours. I don't understand what takes people so long. I did a bunch of side quests and goofed around plenty. I wish I could've gotten 60 hours outa this game. I've tried other races and classes but aside from the origins there is really no new content to be had. This game is very linear and has little replay value. I thoroughly enjoyed my 1st play-thru though and am eagerly awaiting an expansion pack.

Interesting Loredis. I can't seem to find your accomplishments on your profile. It seems not to have registered you as an owner.. We would all be interested in what can be accomplished in the amazing time of 26 hours.. I know that the characters do not upload properly, but I would be interested to see what achievements you unlocked.

This is exactly what I meant. Why would you _want_ to complete the game this fast? There is no award for fastest gamer here.
To answer your question I am playing the game, not trying to beat it in record time. It will take me exactly as long as it takes me to complete the game while I am enjoying it.

I checked the profiles of everyone claiming to have finished in 40 hours or less and why is it every one either:
A: Doesn't have half the achievements you would get if you played through, for instance, if you don't have the rabble rouser achievement (for the landsmeet), you didn't finish the game. You also have to be master warden (kill 500 darkspawn) by accident and probably blight-queller.
B: Doesn't have the game registered to them
C: Has their profile blocked.
I will deem them trolls until someone can back up their claim in their profile.

The game pauses when you are reading the codex, messing with your inventory or using a store. So the time played that the game shows does not include time reading the codex etc.
Combat on the console is easier - console hard setting is equivalent to PC normal setting. So you are likely to do a lot more scouting ahead with your rogue, preparing for combat and also the fights take longer on PC because of the difficulty.
Then there is a big difference between an optimised party and one that you pick based on who you want to talk to. A big difference between playing after reading the strategy guide and going in without knowing the best builds.
As people have mentioned, some parts of the main quest take longer to do if you pick certain options over others. You can manage to rule out some side quests by the decisions you make. You can also miss out on getting sidequests if you don't do a bit of back tracking.
Not to forget that the ambient NPCs (even the ones with no name) often have stuff to say if you click on them.

26 hours?! I can't imagine blowing through DA that fast, even if I skipped past every dialogue.

the first playthrough took me 40 hours... so far with only a few side quests left and the final onslaught quest left ive played 34 hours. how do you people get so much time out of the game!? Seriously ive tried lol, just how many side quests are they out of intrest? Ive read all the codexes ive found too and always explore an area for a while.
Also my Girlfriend is 26 hours in and has just the 'Final Onslaught' quest left. Although to be fair she hasnt touched the SQs.

Talk to everyone you can click on and listen to the dialogue. Search every nook and cranny of every map. Check the codex often for quests that aren't necessarily very obvious (Circle Tower *cough*). Pursue relationships with all your party members.
That should help add some clock time.

because it is a longer game on the PC for the reasons I and others have mentioned. Largely it's the combat difficulty that makes the difference. There's a lot of combat after all.

Another update........I am about to reach the 100 hour mark at Level 17 with a Dalish Warrior. The codex has informed me that I am still 26% complete (even with new achievements and unlocked areas) and I have explored 61% of Ferelden.
It has been a very long time since I have developed such a love for a game. I play this game on the 360 and I have not been dissapointed with anything. In fact, I am beginning to believe that I may be playing the greatest game ever made.

I'm nearing the end of my first play through on PC, just finished the Landsmeet and am looking at 89 hours so far. I've done all of the side quests I could find, though I think I still missed a couple because of choices I made. It'll be interesting to see what the time on my second play through ends up being. Most of my accomplishments should be uploaded (I play with my desktop offline most of the time).
On a tangential note, I'm a little disappointed that characters don't seem to upload if you are offline when creating them in the game, rather than in the character creator. I'd like to see my character stats for my mage listed on my profile.

Ms. Amoeba however is incorrect. The PC version of this game is no more or less difficult than the console versions. In fact, every incarnation of this game is exactly the same save for an almost unnoticeable difference in graphical quality and, therefore, you are not at a disadvantage no matter which version of the game you are playing. So, please, let's dispense with the boring analysis of comparisons and enjoy this "Landmark" effort from Bioware!

Btw for those that aren't aware, the % completed percentage corresponds to the number of unlocked achievements. There are a lot of sidequests in this game, some of which, can easily by missed, if you aren't careful enough or if you miss certain skills. Anyway on my 3rd playthrough at the moment (1st was 107 hours, 2nd 87) and I'm fairly confident that I won't be missing anything this time

yeah.... i like to sit back and enjoy the scenery in rpgs... if this was modern warfare then yeah i'd blow right through it. i like to think of rpgs as a fine brew with a full course dinner. sure you can just stuff it down but then you miss out on all the flavor. but one habit i do have is always enabling subtitles and skipping non-important voice-overs (since i read pretty fast). with this game it kind of jams up on me at times because of that lol... oops

Second play-through, about 25 hours in, don't even have my first treaty agreed to.
26 hours. Wow. I just don't know what to say to that. I'm not impressed - I feel kind of sorry for you. I know I got over 100 hours of joy first time through.

BanditGR, I have accumulated several achievements within the game that have not increased my percentage completed. Just thought you might want to know. I am not convinced that achievements correspond to percentage complete.
