well said.

I respect Biowares artistic integrity too. but artists should not be allowed to assasinate their medium like this.

Good post, category 3 here, with little hope for cat. 2. I want to hope that something planned, but unless there will be an announcement I won't believe in that.

I'm actually more relieved that I made sense. I was afraid I might be a little aloof.

Nice post.

About art, if bioware wants to call it art and decide that it would be crime to change or add anything to it I can respect that. But like with other artists I'm not going to support artist whose work I don't like. It's like buying a painting that you hate or listening music that you hate. Well hate is maybe too strong word, but anyways I doubt EA's stockholders like the idea of making art as much as making profit. It's their game and they can do whatever they want it, but I'm just giving them my opinion, my feedback that if this is what they do I won't support their art. I can't get money back for what I already paid for and all petitions will probably fail when people get tired of "whining". So only real way to object is not using money on their products in future. Making art comes with price and only fraction of artists in the whole world are successful enough to do it for a living.

They're remaining silent because the game isn't out everywhere yet.

If they publicly acknowledge the issue, they're going to get media attention (all of which will be bad - there's LITERALLY nothing good they can say at this point about the outcry). With media attention, they're likely to lose sales in Japan and the few random people who haven't gotten around to picking up a copy yet.

They'll say something soon, sure, but they're quiet now in hopes that they'll still make a bit more money before that time comes.

Exactly. The internet isn't the best silencer of information though. I have no doubt that many players in Japan know what is going on.

Seems like bioware did make the most talked about ending in gaming history. I only wish we were talking about it for the right reasons. You seem to have made sense of alot if this, excellent job.

Like this very much. Wish you did not mention Occam's Razor, though, me deperately holding out hope the ending was planned and not something intentional. However, as Occam's Razor is one of the first tools drummed into the heads of people in my profession, I believe you are correct, and the simplest explanation is usually the correct one: this wasn't planned and BW is at a loss on how to contain it at this time. Sigh. Good stuff, nevertheless! Thanks!
