Back in ME2, when your squadmate cast a power, he/she will shout. For example, samara will say 'embrace eternity' when using Reave, Jack will say 'Ima gonna QILL JOO' when using her powers, and so on. They will also warn you of 'impeding krogan charge'. They will also shout 'nice shot! right between the eyes' when you managed to land a head-shot.
In ME3, unless I am doing something wrong or forgot to turn it on, it is.....silence. Well, other than the growl of Cannibals and howl of Banshees, dead silence......
Combat chatter, I miss it :-(

I've heard some combat chatter, tho not QUITE as much as in ME 2.
And Jack shouts: I will DESTROY YOU! Several of her students also do this. (She responds that one of them couldn't destroy a wet tissue paper)

I recall hearing chatter when I was dodging the Reaper and Brutes in the Genophage Cure mission. Vega said something like "This is some serious Sh*t!"

Kaidan has found a new alternative, he sneaks up right behind Shep when everything is ominously quiet and yells 'OVER HERE SHEPARD'
I do miss Garrus yelling that he loves the rifle though.
