I had hoped that in this modern day I could have had a wider selection on the sliders and more sliders... but alas... so I went for a more normal face.

Yeah, no slider for cup size, waistline or butt width. But seriously, no height and body shape adjustments, means I couldn't make the fat little elf/human I wanted.

Work with what go...I mean bioware gives you. Just remember it could always be worse.
I'm sticking to "normal" looking gals for my playthroughs lest i come out looking like some cheap trick.

Height and width variants would mean they would have to make a cut scene for every possible combination of height and width possible, plus every gender and race. I understand that it's annoying, but with the amount of cutscenes that involve the PC connecting with another character, it's just not possible, not without cutting content otherwise.

A bit too many sliders for the nose, and an overall head shape choice missing.

You can never have too many nose sliders, I can never get exactly the nose I'm looking for out of a creator but this one got darn close. I agree though that an overall head head shape choice and sliders for the upper head like temple width would have been nice. Also missing are cleft sliders for chin, nose, and lip, and the ears could have done with more sliders as well, so could the eye shape... well lots of things could be improved if I think about it. I understand that being unable to allow for body shape changes makes sure we have nice cutscenes that work well, but I'd make do with a little clipping in some cutscenes to add a little muscle to my elves. All in all I think the creator is pretty average, but at least you don't have to edit features in a particular order to avoid ruining your face like Oblivion's creator, and the unchangeable general head-shape is decent and doesn't stick my characters with a five-head and a cranium a bit too big for my faces like Mass Effect's creator seemed to wind up doing. The number of different voices is pretty good, but some seemed awfully similar, could have gone for some more variance. I love creating my own characters, so even after all that being critical, I did like messing around with the CC, and I did enjoy modifying the portraits too.

Could be just me, but all of the eye colors looked exactly the same. Some text on what color each was would have been nice.

It may have just been your graphics setting or screen brightness. It was hard for me to tell eye colors until I fiddled with the settings.

One thing that annoyed me was the lack of options for hair. (At least for females, Iahven't made a male character yet.)
This is something I always find with most character creators. Lots of sliders, nice ability to manipulate the face and then very few hair choice options. Most of which ae, in my opinion at least, very ugly.

So we just have to live with more or less beeing each others clones :-)

Well, you're not going to get long, flowing, curly blonde hair from most video games
My best friend wanted that for her human noble PC and I said, "Erm...you really think you're gonna run around Fereldan fighting darkspawn with long flowy hair?"
Also, from an animation standpoint, the physics of long hair, long robes, or any kind of flowing texture is an absolute nightmare. I'm willing to settle for less epic hair if it means they spent more time on the rest of the game

They definitely should have included more hair options. Also the hair colors, it ranges from tones of grey and red, then to brown and black, what about blues, greens, etc? It's a fantasy setting, I'm sure other colors for hair would exist... we need a hex/RGB-based color slider instead of presets,

I think the options are nicely balanced. If you go around the forums looking at other PCs you can tell that there is a lot of possibilities to be made, but it does have the tendency to lead to some "generic" looks if you wanted them to look somewhat human (take a look at my guy). But the limited options makes me happy with the fact that I know I could recreate my character with relative ease if I needed to.
And I can only pray that they won't try to make micro-transactions out of concerns for newer features.

I miss scars. A slider for scars would have been really a fine addition and very realistic too. Personally I would have preferred a few scars over tattoos any time.

Lol, nice spelling with the "disipointed" topic, but anyhow yeah it would be cool with more but i'm happy with how it is.

I'm happy with what we got. Though still nothing has beaten the Saint's Row character creator... Then again, I am glad this game will not have ridiculously looking heroes everywhere. I'm personally just sticking with some regular-looking males. No tattoos and such, medium-long-ish hair. All that.
Now how do I add pictures from them in here...

Its a shame, I would have loved to make a Hulk-ish Elf.
