Ending on Insanity Not Do-able?!?!? Possible Bug or Issue?!

Here's my dilemna, I dont know if it's just me, but, I legitimately cannot seem to get past this. My carnifex is level 10 so it does max damage and I can kill the husks no problem but the marauder must be bugged or something, no matter how many headshots I get, he will not die. The closest I've gotten is get a headshot with every shot consecutively and even then it still wasnt enough because he still shot me and when he did he still had at least half health, maybe 2/5. I've tried this part countless times, and its frustrating because you have to watch the intro cutscene everytime, but moreover no matter what I do, I cant seem to do enough damage to kill him, headshotting or not in the alotted time it gives you to kill him before he shoots again after wounding you the first time.
The most aggrivating thing for me is that, I've come this far, beaten parts far more difficult due to just sheer amounts of reapers/cerberus/geth forces with careful patience and execution of my skills, so I know how to play the game well, but its really annoying to think that I cannot kill one marauder simply because the game wont seem to let me. I've seen vids of people claiming to be beat it on insanity, but for them they kill the husks in two shots and the marauder much faster, now if that's because they might be playing soldier where he probably gets more weapon damage, than I dont think it fair that I cannot beat this simply because I'm an engineer and dont have the same amount of weapon damage, cause I surely do not feel like redoing the game as a soldier just because of that.
I know many of you might read this and think I am venting just because I cant get past it which I do not blame you, I have no evidence to convince you otherwise, and I wish I could upload a capture of me shooting the marauder in the head over and over again only to still die. If it's because I spec'd into power damage and not weapon damage then I really despise that because I do not want to have reload before Earth, respec and do it all over again, cuz it's insanely diffciult and I'd rather not do it all over.
Is anyone at this same part and having a similar situation?! Any feedback would be much appreciated. I almost feel as if this part should be much easier as if to give you a break for playing through the game on insanity, considering how hard it can be at times. This to me is the biggest ****** off, to throw in this one marauder who keeps denying me accomplishment of insanity. If you've actually read all of this I thank you, and again, if anyone is having similar issues or knows some way around this, I'm all ears, thanks.

uh, one question though. If you have a Level X Carnifex, doesn't that mean you are on a NG+? Shouldn't you have gotten past that Marauder at least once before then?

i can understand your frustration, and yes, that should be much easier. Not sure how much help i can be but... how fast are you shooting? I usually take a long time to aim, allow the Marauder to recover from the previous shot, before shooting again. 4 or 5 headshots is then all it takes.

I did beat the game already, but I didnt do it on insanity.

Make sure you do not miss a single shot. As long as you keep hitting the Marauder, he will not fire back at you.
If that's the case then my game must be doing something wrong cuz i will constantly shoot him and he will still shoot me back

Otherwise you might try exiting out of the game and then firing it back up to see if was simply something amiss "under the hood" so to speak, if you are then able to progress after doing so.
Good luck at any rate.

My notes:
Upon standing up, if you stay on the right side of the pathway the marauder will faceroll you after his initial attack that makes you stumble. I kept taking this path since in my view it seemed to offer the most cover against the marauder(line of sight etc). I died 10x this way.
Out of frustration I just walked down the middle of the path kinda hugging the left side/slightly center and killed the husk that spawned. When the marauder came out, he did his attack that stumbled shep.I hit him with a headshot(this is why I think at trigger failed to activate on the right side) after my first shot that hits him, he stands still and NEVER shoots at me again. I kept firing at him since I didn't want to screw my self out of a kill.
Not sure how everyone else approached this on insanity, but that's how I eventually got the kill.

Congratulations on having not read what the OP or others have said.
What they are talking about isn't the missile launcher part, it is the Marauder just before going into the beam.
I had my first death to him on normal the other day because I was messing about to see what would happen if didn't shoot at him properly. Won't do that again.
I am kind of curious, if you actually have the Carnifex as one of your weapons before that scene and have it modded with a scope does it allow you to go into scoped mode?
