Found something interesting. Adam Baldwin's filmography lists that he voiced Kal'Reegar for ME3, but if he did, the content was obviously not kept then.

The same is true for Gianna & Shiala.... possibilities...

1) IMDB is inaccurate (also shows release as 2011)
2) VA's actually did do work, but not used as suggested
3) (Fingers crossed) Content reserved for DLC

I'll have to check the credits again for Baldwin, but Wendy Braun(Gianna) was in the credits, but Gwendoline Yu (Shiala) was not  :?

Commander Baily? Really?

I miss Gianna so much. :crying:

Would be nice to know what happened with all the support characters, which weren't in ME3.
And I still want to meet Hannah Shepard.

All I can say is to each their own.

Good call on Shepard Sr. Added her to the list.

I see no problem with having a capable C-Sec officer (commander) now who shares Shepard's thoughts on "They just want to see the world burn" on my team. Not to mention his reaction to what's going on outside the Citadel could be amusing.

God Hannah Shepard was such a let down to be honest... I was really hoping they'd run with it for spacer sheps, by either slaughtering her off immediately or y'know... giving us a mum and son chat. >.>

That would have been cool. I didn't expect too much because it's not like she was nearly as prominent like Hackett's bodyless voice, but it would have been nice.

I would have expected them to have Zaboleta make another physical appearance over her though.

I was incredibly annoyed with the killing of Kal'Reegar, though being honest it definitely fit his character to go down fighting though I don't understand why the Quarians stayed to pull a last stand while the Turians were on the sidelines ON THEIR OWN BLOODY PLANET!!!!!

Because the quarians were there and the turians weren't at that point?

I think a lot of this thread is over the top. I liked some of the info coming in mail form, really emphasised the width and breadth of the war as well as the tragic nature of it. Gianna being missing was a nice touch.

I understand your point regarding the scale of the war, and I'm not knocking it off entirely but I don't see why they would just kill off a number of characters like that.

As for Kal'Reegar's death well I'm just saying it's somewhat odd to think the Quarians are holding the line instead of the Turians when we know the Turians are much more suited to that kind of action and the Quarians are fighting a losing battle from the start with their immune systems.

Honestly, I found it to be highly ironic.

The email specifically highlights that the quarian squad was the only unit who were at the right place at the right time for that particular action.

I'm curious as to what happened to Chorban. After hearing what he was doing during ME, and reading his email from ME 2, I'm thinking that he could have ended up being an important factor in the games.

I assume that we don't see Shiala because she is helping the Zhu's Hope colonists to fight

You must have a ridiculously high suspension of disbelief....  I know mine's high but to expect or at least 'hope' that continuing plotlines matter in consecutive titles, it felt like an oversight to see cool characters reduced to emails likely on account of budget, not on account of a creative twist.

@Lilyas, that's the thing with twitter, it's commonly a one sided communication.

Re: Chorban.  Other than possibly relaying more keeper data, I'm not
sure what else he might have done.  He could of had role like Rana
Thanoptis, but I don't know if he really mattered as much.

Shiala may have been fighting, but it still felt like an oversight to have no visual appearance.

I actually would require even higher disbelief if every single NPC we'd ever met across several years suddenly rocked up to cross paths with Shepard...again! In the middle of a galactic war!

Too many threads to keep track of, I can understand not including them, but after setting the bar in ME 2, it was just a little disappointing to see that not all of them would be coming back.

This disappointment is more due to my own expectations than a shortcoming of Bioware's I suspect.

But they do meet  up, they're just not seen,  ;)  You pick up the Zhu's hope colonists via planet scanning.  Whether that's a visual as to where they're seen is another story, it could always have been at another hub location or prior to the war a quick view in the battle would be more immersive than "Hi, I'm a bodyless character, so u no see me" lol

I agree that part of it is expectation, for me as well, but I felt that ME2 was closure to all ME1 plotlines for all sideline characters.  That said, somehowever that they continued more specifically Shiala & Gianna, they left open ended meaning these characters may still have meaning.  So to leave those characters open ended is a real downer to see the swept under the rug.  The only character from ME1 that seems similar is Corporal Toombs since his email was a threat to Shepard.

Kal'Reegar is an open ended ME2 character, so I feel the same way that a meaningful character with an open end got cut.  :(

If you can get Adam Baldwin back I would love a DLC mission with Kal Reegar. Might make it worth playing again. I'd also like some more concept art of the Rachni ships and the Elcor, Volus and Hannar homeworlds if it exists. But it probably doesn't.

I like those ideas... I'd drop $$ for any of them.   Except Hanar homeworld = bring your scuba gear, :D

The dude survived a suit rupture and a hardcore Geth attack (at least in my game) , but then develops an allergy to technological communications... UNTHINKABLE!  B)

To be fair he went out fighting like a boss.

Chorban should have been a war asset I think. For example, the signal to the keepers could have resulted in Alliance or Citadel or STG assets having a 'baseline' crack of Reaper communication signals and can therefore predict certain signal types but can't implement them wholescale. The benefit should have been there as maybe a +5 point war asset to show it has an impact but not a huge one because the Council ignored his findings in ME2.

Or an alternative benefit if you made them take it back to their company? (Weren't they doing scanning tools that could scan through unscannable elements? By making them go back to the company maybe ships could have access to better FTL scanning equipment?)

Plenty of potential, minor potential, but potential nonetheless =(
