Actually, there are 19 N7 missions in ME2. Of those, three (N7: MSV Estevanico, N7: Abandoned Research Station, and N7: Endangered Research Station) involve no fighting. One other N7 mission (N7: Mining the Canyon) involves minimal fighting (killing a couple of varren). So there are effectively 15 N7 missions in which you really fight.Jake Boone wrote...
According to the accomplishments, there are 27 missions in game where you actually fight, be it side or main quests. in ME2, their were that many in main quests and loyalty missions. If you add the N7 missions in ME2, there were closer to 60 or 65 missions where you actually fought.
There are six main plot missions (Lazarus Station, Freedom's Progress, Horizon, Disabled Collector Vessel, Reaper IFF, and the Suicide Mission), twelve loyalty missions, and eight recruitment missions. However, two loyalty missions (Thane's and Samara's) involves no fighting whatsoever, so we're left with a total of 39 missions that involve legit fighting in ME2.
Still more than in ME3, of course, but not on the scale of your sixty.

I always think that people who're like "I GOT THROUGH IT IN 1 HOUR IT SO SHORT" are missing the point. It felt the right length, and that's all that's important.

Not sure why it would take you 60 hours for ME2. It took me 30 hours to do everything including all the side quests and DLC. I do agree ME3 is shorter though it took me 25 hours to do as much as i could find and there were like 5 actual side quest the rest were just "go to this planet and scan for this war asset". Disappointing. Everyone is focused on the endings so much they havent noticed the other bad things about the game. Clever tactic Bioware.Thetri wrote...
i'm at 32 hours. All side quests done, talked to all characters after each mission, did the DLC. Only thing I have left is Priority: Earth. I'm putting it off to do more scanning and to play Multiplayer to get 100% readiness. This game took me almost as long as ME2(with all DLC) to get to the last mission.

I did a lot of planet scanning, which now that I mention it, is not present in ME3The PLC wrote...
It took you 45 hours to complete ME2? You must be really, really slow.

It's definitely present. It's how you finish most sidequests and acquire nearly all of the non-mission war assets.

dude, how the hell does it take you so long to beat them? it took me 18 hours to beat ME1 while doing all the side quests. ME2 took 27 hours without DLCs and 37 hours with all the DLCs. ME3 took me 34 hours to beat.
Unless you're following a strategy guide and checking things off a list, I don't see how you did it this fast.
Either way, there's a lot to savor for those who take their time.

in me3 you launch one probe and that's it, in me2 you had to spend 10 minutes on rich resourced planets

Hours taken to finish is, on the other hand, a useless 100% subjective metric that is based on many things beyond "how much content is there."

Me 2 = around 65 hours with DLC
Me 3 = around 55 hours with DLC
I might be slow but i want to do everything possible in the game play every mission, read every codex, hear every conversation and so forth.

Half the fun of the game is seeing how everyone reacts to whatever just happened.

65hrs ME2
25hrs ME3
But then after 20hrs of ME3 I'd joined others and lost the will to live
I'd definately lost the will to watch more 'movies'!
In ME1 I think I 'drove' the Mako over every mm of every world...
In ME2 I scanned just about every planet & harvested them to Poor at least!

Why is nobody complaining about it?
I find it interesting that you think complaining is the norm and the fact that no one is complaining is strange. Wow. Anyway, the reason that I'm not complaining about how long the game is because I was too busy enjoying it. I don't even remember how long my first play through was.
