I fail to understand how a game that lasts 30 hours can be considered 'short'.

See the thing about game times is its gonna depend on how quickly you are able to get through fire fights. I love how no one realizes that everyone is gonna get different play times because everyone will have different approaches to combat and depending on how good you are how much you have to go back.

This thread reminds me of that Asari who said put five humans in a room to talk about a topic and they'll have ten different opinions. All I can say is, Diana Allers' face.

And yet, 70 of those hours is spent on fetch quests and wandering around the wilderness. I prefer ME's story based gameplay over that. Quality over quantity.

My autosave on the Citadel: The Return was right at 41 hours. It's about as long as I took on ME2, sans DLC.

I had over 48 hours in my first play? I still wish it were longer and had a better ending, more romancing cuddling options and continue too.

Lame comparasion.
WoW is MMO it has no end so it doesn't qualify.
Skyrim is open-world RPG while ME is story based focused RPG.
Skyrim  has ****ty story, lack of voice acting and the only faction that has good plot was Dark Brotherhood.
Oh yeah and 80% of the quests are fetching or clearing the dungeons anyway.

i clocked 25 on a full ME2 playthrough. I'm about 14 in now and have a huge amount of quests to get through still. it isn't skyrim anyway, i think it's really well balnced. and everything you do feels worthwhile this time around

Played ME1 150 hours. (new game+). ME3 is at 39 hours for me and is going to stay there forever. I think this is saying enough.

This game would be a hell of a lot shorter if they took out a lot of the Citadel errand-boy quests. Those aren't even fun, it's blatant padding.  One hub?  Didn't we learn that was a no-no after DA2s Kirkwall?

The reason this isn't being raised as an issue is because the ending sucks so bad. If that gets corrected, people will complain about the facial animations, the lack of exploration/combat side missions in comparison to ME1/ME2. There's more wrong with this game than the ending, but it's drawing a LOT of attention right now.

This game is a drop in quailty from ME2 and every time I try to overlook this something is thrown in my face that screams "we cut a corner here and figured you'd be too dumb to notice!"  I'm hanging onto my copy for another week, if Bioware doesn't release a statement saying EXACTLY what they're doing to make up for all this crap it's being sold.  This game has left such a bitter aftertaste I don't think I can even game for a while now.

I finished the game with 90% readiness in 25 hours, I clocked in 45 hours in me1 and 42 in me2

That seems very long for ME2. I usually wrap that in about 30 hours. I assume you're not including the DLCs, right?

ME1 can take that long depending on how much of the time-wasters you want to deal with.

It took me 38 hours to completely finish ME3 on Insanity, scanned everything, did all the side quests, spoke with everyone after each mission, triple checked almost everywhere to make sure I didn't miss anything, ect.

The mineral scanning draws out ME2 quite a lot (agonizingly). The loyalty missions do flesh ME2 out a bit and maybe a couple more side missions could have helped ME3, but I'm sure 3 or 4 will come with DLC.

First ME1 run(100% + BDtS)-21 hours

First ME2 run(100% + CN DLC)-23 hours

First ME3 run(100% + FA)-28 hours

Keep in mind that was with the exact same play style and pace. Half as long? Yeah no. You just took your sweet time with ME1/ME2.

I'm almost at 40 hours, getting close to the end, its taken me several days.

To be honest, I think the missions in ME3 are miles beyond ME2, and even ME1. I enjoyed them so much, some of them really make you feel powerless in the war as you watch everything fall apart.

Most of the ME3 missions were infinitaly better than ME2....so many pointless missions....like the recharge the mech to blow up walls so you could collect resources...or the land on the planet and kill mechs to save crates....or the 34 missions where you kill blue suns

Bull****. ME1 is the longest game of the series. Take your 100% completion fantasy somewhere else. My first play through in 2009 was 36 hours and I have not done everything, so yeah.

Slight exagerration. I didn't do some of the mineral fetch quests. But yeah, I did absolutely everything else including BDtS in 21 hours. Now I can do a 100% speedrun of ME1 in about 14 hours. Definitely the shortest for me. Not BSing you, it's just my personal experience. Different people will have different results.

ME1 was the shortest for me too. People have different experiences, pall. Doesn't mean we're in "fantasy land hur dur". It'd be best not to be as ignorant in the future. Posted Image

ME1 took me about 25-27 hrs
ME2 (pre-DLC) took me 35 hrs
ME3 took me 32 hrs
