I don't know; that depends. Were you raised in a privileged household where all your needs were met, sent to the best schools, had loving parents, and yet still complained? If so, you're a teenage girl.

Or were you instead raised in a culture of magic and brutality, tortured by a power-hungry mage, had your memory erased, and were starved, beaten, and potentially raped on a frequent basis? In that case, you're probably Fenris.

Honestly, I don't know why Fenris gets picked on for his attitude. He has every right to be broody.

Not that I want the wraith of Fenris fans on my poor head, but I must admit that when I was romancing him with my diplomatic mage f!Hawke (rival), it felt like a mother and a son:

- (with a calming voice of a mentor) *No, Fenris, don't touch the mage: mages are good*
- *Brooding*
(Repeat x100)

With an aggressive warrior f!Hawke (friend) it felt like two mature angry bastarts instead :

-*Oh, mages, I hate them all!*
-*Oh, mages, I hate them all too!*
(Repeat x100)

Perhaps the mages you have known or made as you Hawke turn out bad. As for me being stupid; That is your personal opinion, one I dare say few share.
Is it really? Perhaps if we dimmed your sight so that you had to magnifie the scree times 300 and, wear costly glasses just to see that, caused your joints to ache constantly and, placed you in a place that got into the 100's in the summer with no airconditioner, then you could justly claim that.
Have you not always known you could eat that day and, that you would have a place to sleep? I would say you have had it easy.

Perhaps a teenage girl who wishes she were Fenris (or dating Fenris)?

My favorite bit of Fenris angst is the line during his Act II quest ("What has magic touched that it doesn't spoil?")

Rofl... I am a huge Fenris fangirl, but even I will admit that line was a bit much. He says something similar after the final confrontation with Danarius and I just have to sigh. But in the end I forgive him for being so angsty, as he does it so well, and he does have his more logical moments .

Agreed.  When Fenris wasn't harping on his favortie hate-rant, he was intelligent, logical and practical. You had to hope that with time, some of this good sense would rub off onto his obsessive/compulsive hatred of all things magery!
