One of the pet peeves I've had with Mass Effect 3 so far is a lack of hot keys for things like Squad, Journal, Codexes, etc. So, press "J" to access Journal, press "K" to access Codexes, and press "L" to access Squad. I downloaded the ME3 Coalesced Utility to see if I could deduce what I'd need to create such a bind. I did find a place to enter a Name/Command combination and where to put the said bind, but I can't seem to find the command to open the Journal or Squad pages. I checked the Mass Effect Wikia and while it has some documentation on making keybinds, nothing in regards to the Journal or Squad.
EDIT: Found some things called "MBW_SP_Journal" and "MBW_SP_SquadRecord". Made a backup of Coalesced and tried implementing, no beans. Since bringing up the menu is simply "ShowMenu", I might try "ShowSquadRecord", "ShowSquad", and "ShowJournal" just to see if it works.
