I mean, for me, once I finished the game, everything else was pretty inconsequential. But while I was playing, one of the things that bothered me most was the fact that before ME3, everyone had seemingly overlooked the "crucible". It felt a little like lazy writing to me, and while they did lampshade it, I still wasn't convinced.
What about you guys? thoughts?
Aside from the ending, your biggest grievance with Mass Effect 3?

No exploration. ME2 cast sidelined. The ending (sorry I had to).

Lack of side quests, and the ability to land on random planets (which ties into the lack of side quests complaint). In terms of actual quests, ME3 is the shortest in the series. The ones we did get basically consist of find a random item, deliver it to a random NPC. The end.

Crappy side missions, horrible performance, messy textures.
Otherwise the game was phenomenal.

By side missions, do you mean the scanning ones? Cause pretty much all of the side missions in which you land on a planet I thought were phenominal, especially since most included an old squaddie. Of course, there were so few of that sort.

Playing MP being tied to SP success. Nobody bought ME3 for MP.
Useless, and needless "feature."

Just some minor bugs to be honest. Pretty much everything just before Shepard goes up the elevator is near perfect in my book.

Some of the companion conversations on the Normandy were lacking, especially both of the VS, from what I understand.

Other than the ending, the implementation of Tali's face...(not the design itself). I didn't mind the side quests, it allowed more focus on main quests and missions. A buddy of mine said he didn't care for the lack of VS dialogue.

Zaeed-level dialogue with the squad.
The MP doesn't bother me as much because I don't like the endings, but it's still a ****ty thing to do.

The planet missions were all main missions, besides the N7 ones, which were crap.

Less dialogue options and Journal (Journal will hopefully get fixed in a patch). Other than that, the game was amazing!

ME2 crew being sidelined. But up til the end that was pretty much it, a few minor niggles about the length of time shep talked without input but nothing major.

1) Forcing me to chase somebody I'm not allowed to catch.
2) Forcing me to fight a fight I'm not allowed to win.
3) Lack of journal entires for items you find for the fetch-quests.
But they all drown out in the shame that's the ending.

Lack of conversation options. And Gianna Parasini...or lack there of.

But yeah the side missions could have been a bit more engaging and more crew conversations would have been nice. Still a good game though... other than the endings.

The lame scanning missions, the fact that they couldn't be bothered to actually make a model of tali and instead used a stock photo.

The unhelpful quest log, compounded with all of the fetch quests on the citadel. The quest log makes it hard enough to figure out what you're supposed to do for any given quest, but the fact that you pick up quests just by half hearing conversations on the Citadel makes it really easy to lose track of what your objectives are at any given point.
The fact that the Citadel blows up at the end of the game is just salt on the wound.

"Now that the Reapers are here, do you think it would be a good time to tell someone about the plans for the GIANT-ANTI-SON-OF-A-**** machine we found like 30 years ago?"
Also,
"Councilor Udina seems to be sending funds to some off-shore account. He must be a Cerberus sleeper mole. Quick Shepard, kill him before anybody can interogate him!"

- Lack of exploring random planets and sidequests and getting distress calls etc. Like the N7-Assignments from ME1-2
- Overly convenient "Super Weapon" cliché that's been done to death. Would rather have seen a long war of attrition being won by Shepard uniting the galaxy, new tech salvaged from Sovereign and the Reapers losing the element of suprise because they didnt come in through the Citadel.
- Lack of game/story time actually fighting on Earth, taking it back city by city. Insted we rush through a few ruined generic streets in London before we end back up on the Citadel we have gotten sick of seeing half the trilogy.
