If this is true then the artistic explanation for the current endings doesn't stand. It's basically time constraint and EA's pressure, not the writers' or Hudson's fault.
Wow, but the true intention that the Reapers wanted to preserve themselves really blew my mind. I never thought about that, killing advanced organic life to preserve themselves. Kudos OP

Not a great ending, but would have been acceptable.
I can't even tell anymore honestly, since the bar has been lowered so much by the current endings.

Meh, it is just as bad as the one we got. It still lacks a suitable range of possible endings to suit everybody's Shepard, it still demystifies the Reapers for no good reason and it still creates more questions than answers.

I still want a good real ending aswell with Shep and his/her LI. Maybe they getting seriously hurt and cant fight anymore? And its still missing a lot of the choices we made.
Why no ending that just sees us do what we were supposed to do and kill the Reapers and no one else?
But still anyone could type that and claim its real. And seeing as we know Dark Energy was going to be a big part and this mentions it not once im calling BS.

I would have been satisfied, if we got those endings plus somekind of epilogue. It's much better and makes more sense. Let's hope Bioware will restore those endings, if it's true. (Well, at least the extended Shepard & Anderson dialogue seems to be true, as there are some youtube videos, containing cut dialogue files)

Still not happy with Synthesis but at least the other two are better. And no Starchild!

LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE!

Ok while it might not be amazing in the breadth of options, if this is true then it makes so much more sense.
I hope at the least they are able to blend all those extra details into the endings as they are.

This still doesn't make sense.
If they were afraid of civilizations becoming more powerful, they would offer to leave you alone, after you already found out about them, for another 50k years?
Ok

Still better than the end of ME3. .. oh wait
It's amazing how much better the ending suggestions get when we remove star kid.

A lot better, but I still think it isn't that good. It still relies on a grand "big wave of energy solves all the problems!" ass pull (though still not as bad as Gears of War 3's was...), and it seems there's still no option for "I reject your dilemma".

Some guy at gamefaq is not a reliable source. For all we know all this is wild conjecture and speculation. There is nothing to suggest that it is true or false. As a general idea without saying its true I think it is still deeply flawed. Not the kind of ending many of us have envisioned or demanded.

This ending would bring a desired catharsis to this one's soul.

And people believe this is legitimate? Seriously? There's no hard evidence or citation to back it up. C'mon folks. I know you want something better but seriously.

I don't think this is legitimate. But it is better. Someone clearly tried to keep the idea of the 3 choices, the 3 outcomes, heck even the sacrifice of the Relay system. Shepard's death and the near impossibility of victory. Removed the Star Child and added Harbinger. Viola. A new ending that is more consistant with the rest of the game while staying true to some of the 'themes' they had in the real version.
Fake or not, this is still a better ending. Which leads me to my main point. The ending we got was... just... no... just no.

This explanation of the Reapers is what I had in my mind for the last 5 years... until the end of 3.

While this ending seems more acceptable, it still needs further epilogue if the Shepard story arc is finished with this game. Though I don't think his/her story arc is over, considering the destroy ending bonus cut-scene.

Even though it seems fake, sadly it would still be better ending.

This would have been so much more interesting as the ending... Either way, I'll look forward to whatever Bioware has got planned.

Alot of it probably is but there are definatly elements of it that are supported by early script leaks such as destroy originaly being the only ending where the relays were destroyed.

This would be far better than what we have currently, and I would accept this somewhat if Bioware has this in mind for their 'explanation', and removes the Catalyst. Only for less than $5 though.
