I may have found a trick for my fellow iOS6 users, when the app launches and the white Origin bubble pops up to say that you are logged in, don't tap the galaxy at war button right away, wait about 15-20 seconds and then tap the button. When I do this, it seems to work on the very first try more often than not.
Worked...thanks!

I tried this tactic. Mostly to let the app login first right? It works in about 1 out of 40 times here. So not quite the solution

I wait until the login message (the one that says you are logged in to Origin) completely disappears and then I count to 20. In this case I counted to 25 just to give it a bit more time.
Hopefully you'll at least have a moderate level of success with this method.
I've tried different methods, and for me this has worked the best.

Love the idea. Any chance of an android version? Or are we going to be Apple shores and just leave it on the sty-phone?
I'm sorry but there is nothing that could ever make me buy apple, when you can get better for cheaper...

It barely works at all on the iPhone, the news feed is broken and getting it to connect to Galaxy at War is now almost impossible. Broken code is still broken even if you port to another platform. We've heard nothing on this for weeks, I fear this app is destined to die a long painful death of lack of maintenance... Unless I'm wrong, but surely the BW folks would have chipped in by now?

1) Once you are sure you have logged into the app, click the Galaxy at War tab.
You will now see the screen loading with the 'star-type' loading symbol.
2) While that screen is loading, tap anywhere on the screen at a consistent frequency. I tap in between the loading symbol and the 'back' button, which would be - once loaded - either the Inner Council Space region, or the Earth Alliance Space region.
What should happen next - as long as your phone isn't on silent, is a noise should be heard. It varies for me, between either the sound that is made when you zoom into a region, or the sound that comes when you select one of the three fronts in the specific theatre.
Once you hear one of those sounds, you can stop tapping. Now wait for the 'connection' error to pop up (keeping in mind that you were tapping while the screen was still loading).
3) Click 'OK' to close the 'connection' error pop-up, THEN click 'back'.
If it works for you, it shouldn't take you to the main menu, but it should take you to the Galaxy of War theatre overview (because tapping would have sent you to one of the theatres, and 'back' always takes you back to the overview).
Now you can manage your fleets to try to win back the sectors against the Reapers once more! It always works for me on my iPhone 3GS. I haven't tested it on the iPad. Let me know if it works for you.
EDIT - JUST realised that a similar solution was already posted on another thread. Awkward..

It probably is since I keep getting the message that I need an internet connection and I know I am connected to the net.
