They were asked on twitter and confirmed it. They also mentioned that it may come to Android.

I have an open ticket with EA Support regarding the Mass Effect 3 datapad issues of Facebook Syndication Error in 'Alliance News' and erroneous 'internet connection required' alert in 'Galaxy At War.
I opened the ticket October 26th. My first response was October 29th and consisted of fairly generic troubleshooting steps, all of which I followed and none of which resolved the issues. On this day I also posted screenshots of the particular problem screens and provided other requested information.
On 31st October at 8:16AM GMT I received this response:
ADVISOR: Greetings {Volkai},
Thank you for contacting us again and providing valuable information.
I have escalated this issue to higher level and they will contact you soon. I apologize for any prolonged delays this might cause, but please rest assured that we will handle your concern in a timely manner.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

I then received no further contact until today, when I received this message:
Greetings {Volkai},
Your case was escalated to me today. I sincerely apologize for the extended period of time it has taken to respond to you case. My name is Arun and I am now your personal Specialist who will be handling this case from here. We are working to create a better support experience by responding in a timelier manner. I thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process.
After reviewing your reports, it seems that the fault from Facebook. To resolve this issue please contact to Facebook. I hope they will help.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation. Please be assured that your concern is our priority.

I should say, in the intervening time I had uninstalled the Datapad app (because it didn't work) and got a new iPhone. After I received this response, I reinstalled the app, confirmed it had the same problems, submitted new screenshots to confirm this along with a reply which I will admit may have been slightly irate, since by my perspective I got "it's not our fault" from an escalation after over two months of complete silence.
Surprisingly, I received I prompt reply to this. Less surprising is its content:
Greetings {Volkai},
Thank you for emailing me back.
I am going to send this information to the Expert team so that they make fix this for you. I do not have a time frame to give you as currently issues our handled in the order that they are received.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation. Please be assured that your concern is our priority.
Best Regards,
Arun

So I'm back to waiting for the next escalation level to eventually get around to looking at my case and responding to it. If they feel like it. When they get around to it.
And probably doing nothing to get the issue fixed.
Hopefully by March I'll have some kind of a response. Maybe they'll actually escalate it to the app dev team.
I have to say, this has not exactly been a trust-building experience.

do you have an issue ID you can share, so we can reference it if we send in our own reports?

It's worth pointing out that EA's tech support is some of the worst of any company in operation now or before. When I opened a ticket with them to figure out why Crysis Warhead wouldn't play offline, the first 'fix' they offered was to ask if I could power cycle my internet router and check if that made a difference.
Check my router. To find out why my game wasn't playing offline. I had to re-read it several times to make sure the 'advice' was a spectacularly idiotic as it appeared. It took them about half a dozen further emails before I basically ended up demanding they give me a digital copy on Origin so I could run it in offline mode.
Don't bother opening tickets if its anything that can't be expressed in very small words.
As for the Datapad... tbh the writing has been on the wall with that one. Whatever it is, its something that looks load-based - every so often the app works for me.

But I will say, you can attach screenshots at the support site, and you can take them on the iPhone then download them through Photostream to post them, and I recommend doing so.

So bioware is not going to update the datapad so it can work with ios6. It has been so long that ios 6 has come out and no app update.

Why no android support?
Look at the other posts in this thread Jami - if they're not willing to support it on a closed and policed OS like iOS, why would they be willing to put the effort in for a fragmented and much more open platform like Android?

05/02: @LesPaulDuJour: nope, we're not through EA cert yet, and then Apple is a black box. It'll be a while.

At least they're actually doing something about it. Who knows, by the time I've finished XCOM and started a new ME1-2-3 marathon, it'll be ready?
