I think you only get the achievement if "consumation" of the relationship is implied. Would Thane even be in any condition for that?

I thought it would of been Ash, however aside from the fanboyism i posses towards her i could definatly see what you mean about Liara beeing oractically forced on you, she just seems so be apparently so much more important than everyone else :/

Just curious to see who people think is the more "canon" romance of the Mass Effect series.

I don't believe that there is one. The game seems to poing towards you and one of the LIs from the first game by the third game, though, given the lack of attention ME2 romances receive. I knew I was never going to romance Liara before I even met her, though, because she's over a hundred and will live nearly a millenium after I die and that bothered me.

The canon romance for Reven is Bastila. Was she universally relatable or likeable?

That's different. Star Wars has to have a canon about anything that ever happens ever. They clearly wanted to give Revan descendents and it's easier to do that if he can just impregnate Bastila and disappear instead of giving birth and then dumping the kid on Carth.
