Preeeeetty much this. Although since I've been working on the indoctrination thread & the child's play thread, I guess I already was hoping.

How'd that song go, again? "Helplessly hoping, her harlequin hovers nearby... awaiting a word, gasping at glimpses..."

The thing is they are teasing us for some reason. i mean they could have simply told us that there is stuff coming but for now they just say "there might be stuff coming". Plus the fact that they will release more dlc is pretty much set in stone its just we don't know what will be in the dlcs.

They're allowed to hint, but the way this sort of industry works it is more than their job is worth to come out and announce something without higher approval. They don't want to jeopardize their own positions so they won't come out and simply say it straight until they are allowed to.

Hey guys, some more responses from Jessica Marizan:

USER: So it's been 3 games and Shep has never been indoctrinated? Or are we missing something?
JM: What do you think?

USER: Because the relays were destroyed I either a: Destroyed all life quickly or b: sentenced them to extinction.
JM: Are you absolutely sure about that?

USER: Can we expect DLC anytime soon? I really enjoyed the game (ending left me a little questioned).
JM: There's definitely some cool stuff planned.

USER: Just finished ME3. I didn't know my squadmates could teleport . . . strange, innit?
JM: Not teleporting - can't explain now though to keep my feed spoiler free :)

USER: Can you give us some glimmer of hope so I can at least get some sleep tonight?
JM: We should both go to sleep with some hope :)

I'm not sure what these mean to you, but the one about teleporting almost seems like confirmation. I don't know.

None of this is confirmation, its more stringing along in hopes people will simmer down and then they can just ignore it.

Unless its official and direct, you HOLD THE LINE.

I'm honestly not sure if they are hinting at something but are constrained by internal directives, are just trolling us, stalling for time or some combination of the three.

Based on some of the Twitter responses and MG's own 'If they only knew' response, I am starting to wonder if their plan all along was to have the fans write the ending for them. This seems to be their 'clever' little master plan. Show an open ended, cryptic ending and have us fill in the blanks through the 'theories' being presented. Something about the way they keep mentioning just how close they are following the feedback has me convinced of this. Of course, if that is true and they truly wanted to wait to write the ending only after a proper sample size of feedback was received, we would have to wait quite some time to get it.

-_-

That would be the ****tiest thing ever, and would also satisfy the fans universally :\\

I cant help but think they are just leading us on, gonna pump out a DC we gotta pay for that claims to fix the endings but really just tweaks one small part... I lose more and more faith daily

Maybe it's like the ending of Final Fantasy X.. you see Tidus swimming up through the water but have no real idea why the hell it's happening. Cue FF X-2, where those events are greatly expanded upon, and we learn that that event (Tidus swimming) actually took place months or years later (I forgot how long).

And say what you want about FF X-2 (or JRPGs in general), to me, it had the single most satisfying ending in any video game I've ever played. Why? Because it tied up all the plot points very neatly, and wrapped it in a very pretty bow made of pure closure.

Of course, the difference is, Final Fantasy X's ending was complete, and made sense.

I think between this and Gamble's "you'll want to keep your ME3 forever" tweet it can be confirmed that *something* is being kept secret from us for one reason or another.  I really don't know why they continue to be silent about this though, its only going to hurt them more in the long run.

I really think the indoctrination theory is correct.

Until BioWare says anything though, hold that line like it's 1999!!!!

You all know the DLC, and what is at stake.

I have come to trust BioWare with my life - but I have also hear murmurs of discontent. I share your concerns.

We are seeking an answer; we would receive one, but the records are sealed. Glory for Shepard's squad is not our way.

Think of our heroes; Garrus Vakarian, who defeated an empty bottle with a single shot. Or Chris Priestley, who kept legions of fans at bay with hidden facts.

These giants do not seem to give us solace here, but they are not all that we are.

Before Mass Effect 3's ending, there was Mass Effect 2's ending. Before the god-child, there was the awesome showdown with the Illusive Man!

Our quest may give us answers, but until then, we will hold the line!

Our hopes for Shepard may be realised, but until then, we will hold the line!

Our influence will give us what we seek; in the battle today, WE WILL HOLD THE LINE!

i feel like this tweet has been the most telling so far...

User 7: "Its not that the ending was taken in the wrong direction its that it makes NO SENSE. Ashley was on the Normandy? she [was] with me."
@masseffect: "Probably a good thing to be cautious of."

Exactly.   You could play FFX and walk away feeling like you finished the game.   Then when FFX2 came out you could play it (I did) and enjoy the fan service or just say, nah.

We are left with an unfinished game.  Period.

If they try and make us pay for the real ending... well, that is just evil.

Yes

You really shouldn't trust so easily. Their entire job is about ebing able to spin things to make you happy, even when you shouldn't be.

It's possibly more disheartening if they expected some backlash with the intention of rectifying the problems with a soon to be released DLC. I want to buy a complete game then be done with it. DLC as extra content is great, but considering their deceptions regarding Javik we shouldn't be surprised that they may try to simply get another 10$ from everyone for logically consistent endings.

If that's the case, I'll pay for it then never support any EA or Bioware product again.

I apologise if this comes across too crass, but isn't expecting the truth be spoken by people who are payed to manage pr a bit like expecting the truth when asking a prostitute whether you're a good lover.

Yes, but BioWare are going to be brewing up a hell of a lot of trouble for lying to us now.

Then again, they've done it before.

I hope to god they mean more than that though.

If that's the case they may not have many fans like me left to buy it that's for sure

Based on all the tweets, I say I'm willing to believe at least the teleportation thing will be expklained/fixed. At the same time, this means they deliberately witholded information and shouldn't be surprised people are calling BS on squadmates being in London just to appear on the Normandy based on info WE have. We're not sitting in authors' heads, we cannot possibly know "ohh there's more to that". We can only judge by how much info/data is provided to us and at the moment, the info/data we have makes up for only one conclusion - squadmates teleported and it's BS.

Hopefully this will get explained/fixed soon.

What do you mean by fan service? The outfits? Couldn't stand them. Obnoxious..

But I adored the storyline. I still cry when I see vids of some of the more touching moments in that game. The perfect ending (and it was perfect in that it gave the fan exactly what they wanted in almost every way) could definitely qualify as fan service, but you had to REALLY work for it, and it could easily be missed.

Seems pretty obvious to me what Bioware is doing. They accomplished the biggest troll in videogame history. Think about it, they reel you in, seemingly innocently with an amazing game. Then they lead you on until the last 5 minutes and then BAM! Biggest troll ever!
