I'll admit I didn't bother checking if someone else posted something like this, I just wanna report a bug and get back to my game.

The first problem is that when I wanna press start on the first prompt and the game starts connecting to EA servers (why do I need to be forced to do so for singleplayer? What if my internet cennoection craps out? Am I then supposed to just go replay Rockstar games?) the first try always hangs. The game'll say it's connecting or communicating, but it will keep on doing so. I have to quit the game to the XMB and restart upon which it will login to the EA servers.

Then, almost everytime, after about half an hour or maybe 45 minutes (I lose track of time when I play) whenever I'm supposed to come out of an elevator, the loading screen will fade to black like it's supposed to, but not fade back up. I'm stuck in utter blackness. I do hear some ambient sound, but I can't establish whether or not I'm still controlling Shep. So far, I'm guessing no.
I have to restart the Playstation to fix that problem. Ofcourse, I will also not have saved for about half an hour or maybe 45 minutes... I lose track of time...
Oh, also, this black screen lockup situation is usually preceeded by the game stuttering slightly when a reticule for a character you can talk to is about to pop up. The diamond shaped reticule, not the round one.

So by the time I'm playing care free I'll have the game started three times.
Ofcourse, then I'm playing care free, so... it works. Image IPB

I have the exact same problem, ive just finished the blue suns mission, I take the elevator to the holding docks and I get a lovely black screen. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm logged in though. I have also just finished the jack rescue and it did a hard crash and the ps3 had to check it's hdd for errors, that is most definitely not something that should slip QA. I never normally complain about bugs in games, its a fact of life, but to not have an install option for blurays is just asking for trouble. Bioware, you would have still got my money if you released this thing in April, only you would also have had a happy customer.

I also seem to notice there is a complete lack of acknowledgement to every post within the tech forum - not a sign that tells your customers you are actually care about our custom - it would be nice to get a molecule of info - at the very least let us know you are aware of the issues and are working on a fix?

I do need to correct myself. An apology for running my mouth off. Starting the game without first logging into PSN makes the game just skip connecting to EA servers. Logically.
I don't usually let my moods interfere with my bugreports. ;)

Yeah I have the same problems when trying to go to the docks. I used to get around this by going to the docks from the hospital but that doesn't seem to work anymore. :(

If you can see the main menu behind the connection screen , you should be able to navigate it and pick what you want from it. The once you get to a new menu it should clear the overlay screen.
