Ok, I'm a cheater, I admit, but I would like a good silverite set of armor for my character early on in the game. Is it possible to lower the strength requirements, or have no strength requirements at all? If not, no big deal.
Ability to change/remove strength requirements?

There's a mod that sets your character's strength to 38: http://social.bioware.com/project/661/
I used it to try on my blood dragon armor. I don't know how it would work with leveling up, I feel like if you change it, it would reset to 38 every time you load the game, but you can disable it anytime of course.

If I remember right, leveling just gives you extra points to put wherever, I'm not sure loading would reset any of those numbers. But hey, shouldn't be all that tough to test it out.

or you can edit materialtypes.2da and compile it into a .gda with your own values.

CID: by editing a .2da, would I also be able to say, edit a shortbow's range and damage, etc? I've heard and seen that armor requirements can be tweaked.

yes but that's another .2da; Item_stats.2da which you can find in BITM_base.xls
