Hello guys,

first of all, it seems I am unable to post in the ME3 forums, as I don't have the game registered on my account (I played the XBox version with a friend, as I don't have a console and despise Origin).

So, if anyone would like to post a link there, feel free.

My problem with the last mission, beginning after killing Kai Leng, is how anti-climatic it is. Choices in the games seemed to have no impact besides increasing an abstract number.

Also, the ending was a mess, with lots of plot holes (god-like powers of the child, Normandy running, you know what I mean).

In frustration, I wanted to rewrite the final mission and the ending to how it should have been to be an epic conclusion to the trilogy for me at least. It still contains some of the core elements, and the Crucible/Citadel as a bad plot device, but hopefully in a more satisfying way. Also, most of the dialogue is only a draft, and doesn't meet ME standards.

It's not completely done yet, but opinions are welcome.

THE ATTACK ON LONDON
Shepard lands on the devastated field outside London along with what survived of Hammer. In a huge battle, Shepard and his 5 companions (two are picked, the others fight as NPCs) along with a lot of infantry (Human, Turian, Asari and Krogan/Quarian/Geth depending on loyalty) advance towards the center.
In the battle, several tanks get destroyed, while the others drive forward. In short cutscenes between fights, other surviving ex-squadmates from ME2 are seen fighting as well.
Meanwhile, the space battle in orbit is shown, with Reapers destroying a human dreadnaught, while combined fire from the Normandy and a turian destroyer take down a smaller Reaper.
In London, Shepard and his army, taking heavy losses, are now a few kilometers away from the beam. A destroyer-class Reaper next to the beam halts their assault.Admiral Anderson tells Shepard to hold the position, while the Thanix missile trucks, who were kept behind to protect them, move in range.

LAST STAND - THE BATTLE FOR REACHING THE CITADELShepard, his picked squadmates and several infantry take the middle position. Two randomly chosen team members not chosen for Shepards squad go supporting the left flank, the other two defend the right flank.
The Reapers throw massive numbers against them, and Shepard has to hold the position. His Infantry strength is shown as a bar on the top right, and goes down over time for every enemy that does damage to Shepards troops (who are mostly defensive to avoid frustration) - forcing him to kill as many enemies as possible and draw fire towards him.In this phase, a depleted bar means Mission Failure.
You hear radio chatter from the squadmates covering the flanks about how they take losses, but still hold the line.
In the pause between attacks, cutscenes show several enemy squads consisting of elite enemies are reported to advance towards Shepards position, to prevent him reaching the Citadel. Meanwhile, Shepard fights back a high number of Reaper forces and some elite enemies between the cutscenes.
The first elite squad is a high number of Brutes.

IF WREX AND GRUNT ARE STILL ALIVE:The Krogan infantry takes on the brutes, giving them a fight that is devastating for both sides, but in the end, both Wrex and Grunt survive while wiping out most of the Brutes. Grunt comments on how Wrex is a true leader of the Krogan.

IF EITHER WREX OR GRUNT IS ALIVE: The Krogans take on the brutes, and in a massive battle, the Krogans manage to defeat the greatest part of the Brutes, but are wiped out completely. The surviving Krogan leader makes a last stand, ripping the head of a Brute with his bare hands, but is killed in the end.A small number of Brutes reaches Shepards left flank.

IF BOTH WREX AND GRUNT ARE DEAD:The Krogan take out two thirds of the Brutes, but are completely wiped out.A high number of brutes attacks Shepards left flank.

The second squad is a number of turned Rachni.

IF BOTH MIRANDA AND JACOB ARE ALIVE:
Jacob and his fire team hit the Rachni hard, while Miranda takes them from the flank. The Rachni do massive damage to both fire teams, but Jacob orders a heavy weapons squad to take position on the rooftops.Miranda takes down several rachni with biotics, then retreats to cover the HW squad. She and her team arrive just in time to stop two Harvesters from taking on them from the flank and killing the HW squad.Meanwhile, Jacob fights back and manages to draw the Rachni into the line of fire from the HW squad. The HW open fire and lay waste to the Rachni, wiping them out.
Jacob compliments Miranda on the success, but Miranda tells him to shut up and focus on their mission.

IF EITHER JACOB OR MIRANDA IS DEAD:
The surviving Ex-Cerberus leads the fire team and brings the HW in position, then fights back the Rachni. The HW open fire, but get taken in the rear by the Harvesters and are wiped out.The fire team takes on the Rachni, but they are overwhelmed and killed.A small number of Rachni attacks Shepards right flank.

IF BOTH JACOB AND MIRANDA ARE DEAD:
A unknown human leader leads the fire team, and the HW squad gets wiped out before they can open fire. The human force is overwhelmed and a high number of Rachni attack the right flank.

The third Squad is a small but lethal number of Banshees.

IF BOTH JACK AND SAMARA/MORINTH ARE ALIVE:

The elite biotic squad takes on the Banshees, fighting back as best they can. The Banshees do massive damage, and several untrained biotics flee. But with a coordinated attack from Jacks and Samaras squad, they manage to drive the Banshees to the side of an almost collapsed building. The Banshees fight back hard, and most of the Biotics die. In a desperate attempt, Jack and Samara combine their biotics to destroy the last supporting beams of the building, bringing it down on the Banshees. Only a few manage to teleport away in the crossfire, and are fought by the remains of the biotic squad.

IF EITHER JACK OR SAMARA/MORINTH ARE DEAD:

The Banshees wipe out most of the biotic squad, several untrained Biotics are killed in close combat.Knowing that they are about to lose, the surviving Biotic leader draws the Banshees towards the building, and retreats inside. The Banshees follow, smelling blood, and in a desperate last stand the biotic leader destroys the supporting beams of the buildings in a biotic shockware, bringing down the building on her, the remains of her squad, and most of the Banshees.A small number of Banshees hits Shepard from the front.

IF BOTH SAMARA/MORINTH AND JACK ARE DEAD:

The biotic squad, led by an unknown asari, desperately tries to draw the Banshees away towards the building. Many biotics die, and the asari orders the building destroyed with biotics, but it doesn't directly fall on the main Banshee force. The Banshees kill the remaining biotics.A large number of Banshees hits Shepards forces from the front.

BATTLE FOR THE CITADEL-DESTROYING THE REAPER

The Thanix missile squads have almost reached Shepards forces. EDI retreats to meet them, leaving either a flank or Shepard weakened. The forces from the Cutscenes attack.Depending on how many of Shepards followers defend a flank:No elite attackers on the flanks: Both defenders (or one, depending where EDI was) survive.Small number of elite attackers on the flank: If there are two defenders, a randomly chosen one of them dies. The other manages to fight them back, and only a few elite attackers break through. High number of elite attackers on the flank: A single defender sacrifices himself and a small number breaks through the flank. Two defenders: One of them sacrifices himself (randomly chosen) and a few attackers break through the flank.
Shepard now has to fight whatever attacks him from the front or the flanks and has to evade Reaper fire for 3 minutes while EDI preps the missiles. If his forces are depleted, his squadmates die in the fighting while reinforcements arrive. If both squadmates are dead and his forces get depleted again, the attackers break through to the missiles and destroy them, resulting in failure.
In the fighting, the Reaper manages to hit one of the trucks, destroying it. EDI preps the second truck, countering the Reaper missile jamming. After 3 minutes, EDI fires the missiles and hits the Reaper in the vulerable spot, and heavy weapons from all around the battlefield bring it down.
Shepard, covered by whoever is left on the flanks, makes a run for the beam.If any of his squadmates died in the fighting before, the other surviving squadmate (if there is one) dies covering him.

REACHING THE CITADEL
Shepard and whoever of his direct squadmates is left reaches the beam and gets transported to the Citadel. He wakes up in an unknown room in the Citadel and makes for the presidium tower. He hears on radio by Hackett that the beam vanished after Shepard passed through.Shepard asks where Anderson is, and Hackett replies that they lost contact a while ago while Shepard was fighting.
In a short cutscene, Shepard and whoever is left reaches a control console, killing a few defenders, and opens the arms of the Citadel.

BATTLE IN SPACE - ATTACK OF THE REAPERS

After the arms open, Hackett gives the order to deploy the Crucible. Shield takes position to protect the Citadel from the reapers, with whatever fleet is left as backup.
The Crucible gets deployed while Shepard watches, waiting and treating his wounds.
Hackett gets informed that the main Reaper force, who apparingly ignored Shield and focused on sword, suddenly broke off, while three Sovereign-class Reapers, including Harbinger, surrounded by destroyers and Oculus, make for the Citadel.
In a devastating battle, Shield holds off the smaller Reapers, but the three capital ships including Harbinger, break through the main Shield fleet.
The three Reapers close in on the reserves, while Hackett asks Shepard why the Crucible is not firing. Shepard doesn't know, suggesting that it may take time to charge up, while the Citadel arms open completely.

IF MOST OF THE ASARI WAR ASSETS HAVE BEEN ACQUIRED AND TURIANS ARE ALLIED WITH CURED KROGANS:

he combined reserve force of these races hit the first Reaper. The Reaper destroys ships with every shot, but the most powerful asari and turian dreadnoughts fire desperately, and the Reaper starts to take damage. If the Destiny Ascension has been saved, it sacrifices itself to crash into the reaper while firing.Otherwise, the Reaper destroys a few more ships and manages to severely damage the human flagship with Hackett aboard. The Reaper, now damaged, is forced to retreat.OTHERWISE:Most of the turian/asari forces sacrifice themselves to save the Crucible. Admiral Hackett orders a frontal assault, and the last shot of his ship damages the Reaper, but the Reaper completely destroys the flagship before it retreats.

IF THE QUARIANS ARE ALLIED WITH THE GETH:The combined Shield fleets of both races hit on the second reaper. Geth ships sacrifice themselves by taking shots aimed at Quarian ships, while Quarian fighters cover a damaged Geth Cruiser. With their combined fire and after massive losses, the combined fleets of both races manage to stop the advance of the Reaper.

IF ONLY QUARIANS OR GETH FLEET IS PRESENT:The entire Quarian/Geth Shield fleet hits on the second reaper, trying to prevent it from breaking through. The Reaper continues to advance, and the fleet, in a last desperate attempt, go on collision course with guns blazing. Most of the fleet is destroyed before the barriers of the Reaper go down, and it retreats.

After both battles, it is shown that Harbinger was holding back, waiting for an opening. It uses the opportunity and breaks through the line when the fleet regroups after stopping the other two Reapers, and the fleet lacks the strength to stop it.
Harbinger breaks through and closes in on the Citadel.
Amost unnoticeable, small ship flies through the hole in the fleets, chasing Harbinger. The Normandy left the battle of Sword and follows Harbinger to delay it from reaching Shepard and the Citadel, while the other ships are not fast enough to reach them. Hackett, if he is still alive, tells Joker to delay Harbinger as long as they can to buy Shepard time.

 And here comes part 2.

The Normandy closes in on Harbinger, firing at it, but Harbinger completely ignores it and moves to the Citadel, while firing its defense lasers to draw the Normandy off.
EDI is desperately looking for a weakness for the Normandy to exploit, while her cyberwarfare suit tries to sabotage Harbingers aiming, allowing Joker to dodge the shots and continue firing.

IF THE RACHNI QUEEN HAS BEEN SAVED:Harbinger suddenly reduces its speed, and EDI picks up something between them and the Citadel. A fleet of Rachni is shown, moving towards Harbinger. Harbinger moves forward to meet them, with the Normandy on its tail.
The Rachni open fire, swarming Harbinger while the Normandy continues its ineffective attacks.

IF LIARA IS WITH SHEPARD:In a short cutscene, Shepard is shown watching the battle while trying to figure out how to fire the Crucible. Liara tells him the Rachni queen has come to defend the one who saved her.
The Normandy manages close-range sweeps of Harbinger while the Reaper squashes the Rachni. EDI says the only shot they have at damaging Harbinger is the spot between his tentacles and only when the Reaper is firing, as the Barrier fluctuates in that spot for an instant - impossible for any conventional ship to hit, but Joker might have a chance while Harbinger is distracted.
Several huge Rachni ships close on Harbinger grabbing it, while Normandy in a crazy manouver flies between the tentacles and fires all its weaponry at the spot EDI marked while Harbinger kills a rachni ship. Joker flies away, asking EDI it if worked. EDI comments that the fire definitely went through the barriers, but she can't determine if it did any damage.

Harbinger breaks the neck of the Rachni force and closes in on the citadel. Normandy, with a now desperate Joker, still fires at whatever may be vulnerable, when Harbinger finally turns its attention to the ship.
Harbinger counters all of EDIs cyberwarfare attempts and aims directly at Normandy. It fires, and the biggest Rachni ship that is still intact covers the Normandy, takes the hit and is destroyed - but a small portion of the beam still manages to break through, cuts through Normandys barriers and damages the ship.

IF THE ENGINEERING DECK WAS NOT UPGRADED: The core is vented, killing the Engineers on the deck. Joker loses control of the engine, and tries to land on the citadel. A damaged Normandy can be seen crashing on one of the citadel arms, while Harbinger, ignoring the Normandy again, closes in on the Crucible.

IF THE RACHNI QUEEN WAS NOT SAVED AND THE NORMANDY IS FULLY UPGRADED FROM MASS EFFECT 2:Normandy fights alone, trying to outmanouver the Reaper fire and to close in on the weak spot.A small fighter force joins the Normandy, trying to provide Joker with some room, but they get destroyed quickly. Joker - while not being able to fly between the tentacles - fires a mid-range shot with the Thanix cannon and hits.
Harbinger closes in on the Citadel, and shoots at the Normandy. Joker evades most of the beam, but a small part still hits. The cyclonic barrier shield and the armor plating avoid complete destruction, but the Normandy is still damaged and crashes on the Citadel.

IF THE NORMANDY IS NOT UPGRADED AND THE RACHNI ARE NOT PRESENT:The fighter squadron provides Joker with enough time to outmanouver the last shot and fly between the tentacles.Joker fires the missiles, hitting the spot, and flies out. Harbinger disposes of the last fighters and focuses on Normandy. Both EDI and Joker try to avoid the killing shot, but to no avail - Harbinger fires, and the Normandy is completely destroyed.

Back in the Citadel, Shepard sees the outcome of the Normandy fight, while becoming desperate on the console - he simply can't find a way of firing the Crucible or even figuring out what it actually does.
Harbinger reaches the Citadel, and the entire fleet, including Shepard, stares in shock, waiting for the Reaper to destroy the Crucible and end all hope.
To the astonisment of all, Harbinger simply flies past it, to the base of the presidium tower where Shepard is. It lands on its tentacles, connecting to the Citadel, and Shepards console goes dark.
Shepard comments on how the Reaper blocked him out from Citadel controls and wonders why Harbinger just doesn't simply destroy the Crucible.
If there are teammates present, they comment on how they have to drive off Harbinger to get control again, otherwise someone on the Radio tells Shepard the same (Hackett or, if he's dead, another Admiral).

FINAL BATTLE: HARBINGER
Shepard notices some damage between the tentacles and looks over three different pathways to Citadel defense cannons. They realize that with Harbinger cutting off power supply, they can only override and fire each cannon once with the energy stored in the cannon batteries.
On their way down, if the Normandy is still intact, they get a radio message from EDI, stating how Harbinger has offloaded some troops that are closing in.

CHOICE: NORMANDY SUPPORT
Shepard can now choose to
- send both his squadmates to protect the Normandy
- send one of his squadmates to protect the Normandy
- send no one, leaving the Normandy to its fate.

After the choice, Shepard gets ready to go to the middle pathway. If he has two teammates left, they split up, every one of them going down one pathway to take control of the cannons. If only one is left, the squadmate takes the left pathway while Shepard takes the other two.If Shepard is alone, he has to fight through all three pathways.

(If Garrus/Tali/Liara are with Shepard, they say how this is "just like old times.")

The ways are defended by reaper forces, with special enhanced and armed Husk boss enemies at the end of each way, protecting the cannon.
Shepard fights through, and takes control of the cannon. If two teammates are present, they reach their cannons as well, and fire at the crack between the tentacle. If one squadmate is left, he fires first, and then has to retreat and hide, leaving Shepard to fire the last cannon.
After the first two cannons are fired, Harbinger takes considerable damage, loses the docking connection and control of the Citadel. When power comes back, the Crucible starts to light up.
Harbinger, in a last attempt to stop Shepard, tries to fire at him with a laser as soon as Shepard reaches the last cannon. Shepard fires first, laser hits laser and Shepard tries to run to avoid the resulting explosion.
The blast hits Shepard, and he is sent flying. He wakes up on a platform, coughing, seeing everything in slow motion (camera is first person now).If there are squadmates still with him, they can be seen running towards him, shouting.Shepards vision turns white while he looks up to the Crucible (which apperars to be completely powered up now), and he loses consciousness.
Now, a short cutscene shows the Normandy's fate.If no squad mates were sent, the ship is overrun by Reaper forces, and everyone aboard the ship is dead.If one squad mate was sent, he can be seen fighting off enemies in a pathway towards the docking bay where the Normandy is. The few marines die one after another, and once the squadmember realizes they are almost overrun, he seals the door, mumbles "Sorry, Shepard" and fires a heavy weapon on the windows, destroying them and venting him and the Reaper infantry into space. If both squadmates were sent, they fight off the infantry together, covering each other and the marines, holding their ground.Meanwhile, the Normandy makes repairs.

FINALE: THE END
Shepard awakes on a small platform, in a hall where the wall he faces is a huge monitor, showing the space battle.
In the middle stands a machine in the form of a pillar, with a chamber inside of it where a white electric current runs down.
S: "Where am I?"

"In the core of the Citadel."

Shepard looks around. Before the pillar, a VI-like hologram manifests itself, with no visible shape like a white cloud.

S: "Nobody ever knew that this room existed."

"You are the first organic being that stood in this room since it was sealed."

S: "So who are you? What are you? I've never seen you before on the Citadel. Are you another Prothean?"

"We are the being you refer to as Catalyst. We were sealed after our purpose was done, and the device you know as Crucible removed this barrier. We are the core of the Citadel."

"The Reapers created the Citadel. Our enemy. So you are one of them?"

"Incorrect. The Ancients built us, so that we could build the Reapers."

"Why? Why would any race want to create things like this?" [Shepard points towards a Reaper on the screen, which destroys another small ship]

"To end the violence.
In every cycle, primitive species rise up, and then go to war with themselves. [Screen shows an unknown race fighting each other] They go to war with other species. [Screen shows Turians fighting Krogans] They create artifical life, and fight them when their creations evolve. [Screen shows an unknown race fighting machines].

The Ancients were no exception. On the brink of their extinction, they created us, and we build the first Reapers with their technology, and the remains of their species.

The Reapers were created to end the chaos. When the final war of each cycle is about to come, they harvest the species to save them from extinction, and store their essence in Reaper form. Annihilation is replaced by eternity."

"We don't want your eternity. You are telling me the Reapers are supposed to stop the war, but they started it! They destroy us, just so we don't destroy each other?"

"War was coming, and your cycle reached its end. The Reapers prepared their arrival to harvest the species before they could eradicate each other. But then the cycle brought change."

"We stopped Sovereign, and stalled the Reapers. But it was not enough."

"The change that broke the cycle, the change the Reapers came to know as Shepard. You united the species on the brink of war. You made races that were enemies for their entire evolution stand together. Krogans and Turians." ["Rachni."] ["Synthetics and their creators."]"Once this change has surfaced, it will continue. The cycle cannot be sustained."

"So why don't the Reapers stop? I united the races to stop the war, why don't they leave?"

"The Reapers have to fulfill the purpose of their creation. Even when they learned how they changed the fate of the species more than they saved it, they will continue until the last Reaper is destroyed. They see no alternative. They cannot abandon their purpose."

"But you can force them to. Thats why the Protheans tried to create the Crucible. To draw you out."

"After we created the first Reapers, the last Ancients disconnected us from them to make them independent beings, and sealed us into the heart of the Citadel. The Protheans found traces of our existence and thought us to be a hidden weapon, but their cycle ended before they learned the truth.

The Crucible lets us talk to the Reapers again, but they refuse us, for we were disconnected for too long. They want to fulfill their purpose. We cannot change them, Shepard.

But you can. You proved it with your actions. That is why we brought you here, to our birthplace and the origin of the Reapers.

You altered the cycle of violence, but we cannot determine to what end. We lay the fate of the Galaxy into your hands, to change the Reapers - or destroy them all."

"Destroy them? How can _I_ destroy them when even the creator of the Reapers can't?"

"The Crucible connects us to them through the Mass Relays. If you unleash the energy of the Citadel  while the Crucible is active, we believe that the remnants of our being will disrupt the core of the Reapers, and destroy their consciousness."

Shepard looks at the machine, and has a vision of shooting it with the pistol, and the Citadel exploding.

"All of them will be gone for good?"

"They will perish, along with all synthetic life that contains fragments of their technology."

"EDI. [And the Geth.]"

"Yes. The Mass Relays are also controlled by the Citadel, and will deactivate once it is destroyed."

"So what is my other option to stop them?"

"You can replace us through entering this chamber, where the Ancient creators left behind their physical beings to join their mind with ours. We believe that your voice can make a difference. You united the races, and offered the Reapers more resistance than every cycle before. You destroyed Sovereign and Harbinger, and more Reapers than every cycle before this one.

The Reapers will listen to you, once your conciousness joins the consensus. As long as you come at your own will and are free from their indoctrination, your mind will become one with theirs.

"And they will stop to harvest us as long as we don't destroy each other?"

"We do not know for certain. It depends on you, Shepard."

CHOICE: CONTROL OR DESTROY - SHEPARDS SACRIFICE (ENDING 1)

CONTROL: Shepard steps towards the chamber.
"Even if you change the Reapers, you cannot force them to abandon their purpose. The cycle is suspended for as long as the races don't wage wars of extinction. Once your unity breaks, the Reapers will return again, with you as one of them. The Galaxy gains peace and prosperity for as long as it holds, but not freedom."

( "Stopping the Reapers and keeping our galaxy intact... Earth will be rebuilt, and the races can return home. I choose peace."
OR (Step back) )

DESTROY
Shepard draws his pistol, aiming at the machine.
"Destroying the Reapers will allow humanity to presevere, but it will also destroy the Relays. Without them, your unity won't hold. If it breaks, the cycle of destruction will begin again, and all the living races in the galaxy will vanish forever, with no Reaper to keep their legacy. After many cycles, a race might seek to end the cycle again and build new Reapers. You will get freedom, but no lasting peace. Humanity will linger at the edge of chaos."

(  "The Reapers will be gone forever. Humanity will be free, and the galaxy will be rebuilt by our lead. This is what I  choose. I want freedom for my people."
OR
(lower the weapon) )

CONTROL ENDING

Shepard takes a last look on the monitor, looking at Earth. He thinks of his teammates, and steps into the chamber.
He gets slowly synthesized, and the Citadel starts shaking. The Crucible emits a huge energy pulse, then explodes, while the Citadel is kept intact. If the Normandy still exists or squadmates are on the Citadel, the Normandy (or a small escape shuttle) can be seen flying towards Earth while the Reapers are hit by the pulse.

IF SHEPARD HAS OVER 60% PARAGON: The Reapers suddenly come to a halt. They don't move for several seconds, then turn blue, and begin to leave Earth, and retreat. Shepard's influence convinced them to end their harvesting, and leave the races in peace as long as no destructive wars are waged.
Citadel survivors land on Earth, while the people celebrate - the galaxy is mostly intact, but Shepard is dead, and the Reapers are not gone forever. Still, the alien fleets depart, and we see cutscenes of Earth being slowly rebuilt.

OTHERWISE: The Reapers come to a short halt, but continue to attack again. Shepard was not able to convince them that peace between all races is possible, and they continue.
The battle rages on between the fleets, to an unknown outcome.

DESTROY ENDING

Shepard takes a last look at the monitor, looking at Earth. He thinks of his companions, and opens fire. The Citadel starts shaking, and the Crucible emits a short pulse, before explosions tear the Citadel apart. The Normandy or a small escape shuttle runs from the blast towards Earth, and barely makes it.
The Reapers come to a halt, with electric discharges visible all over their hull, then they become inactive. The Mass Relays spin faster, sending a pulse to the other Relays, then lose power and deactivate.
Citadel survivors land on Earth, while the people celebrate - the Reapers are destroyed, but Shepard is dead, and the fleets of all races are stranded on Earth.

IF SHEPARD HAS OVER 60% RENEGADE: Short cutscenes show a human-led council arguing, with the humans winning the dispute, intimidating the other races. Ships of other races slowly depart, while others settle on Earth, guided by humans.

OTHERWISE: Short cutscenes show a human-led council arguing, to no agreement - Krogans get violent, Asari flee the meeting, Turians insult humans and leave. In the last shot, we see the fleet turning on each other. Ships of all races open fire in the Earth orbit.

CHOICE: CONTROL OR DESTROY - SHEPARD RETURNS (ENDING 2)

CONTROL:

"... The Galaxy gains peace and prosperity for as long as it holds, but not freedom."

IF SHEPARD HAS 95% PARAGON AND MOST WAR ASSETS HAVE BEEN ACQUIRED:

Paragon answer available - "The peace will last."

"It will hold. I settled the conflict between Turians and Krogans, even after I cured the Genophage. I ended the war between Quarians and Geth. Thats what it took to unite them against the Reapers. After facing destruction, and standing together, the peace can hold, for many thousand years. If that is what it takes."

"Similar words were said by someone else on this station before you arrived here, Shepard. But we thought these words not to be valid, as that person couldn't reach us."

"Someone else was here? Who?"

The platform that transported Shepard starts glowing again, and Anderson is transported to the bridge. He is gravely wounded.

"Anderson! What are you doing here?"

"We tried to get in from behind during the fighting. But we were spotted.. (coughs) I was the only one who made it, but I couldn't go any further.. I'm sorry, Shepard."

"There is nothing to be sorry about. We made it, Anderson. From here, we can make peace with the Reapers, and end this war."

Anderson looks at the machine.

"But how?"

"I have to go into the machine. The Crucible allows my mind to join with the Reapers, and I can convince them to leave. Go, Anderson. [The Normandy is here, to bring you back.] [An escape shuttle is docked to bring you back.]"

"I'm not going anywhere, son. My time is almost over. But you, you have to go back."

"I can't. I have to finish this."

"They still need you, Shepard. They came because of you. You're not done yet. But I am. I'll finish this here... (cough) You did good, son. But you will go."

"I won't let you take my place. Not this time."

"You have to keep the peace, Shepard. You will go.. That's an order, Commander. The last one I'm gonna give. So don't screw it up."

Shepard looks at Anderson for a long time, then nods. He watches Anderson, standing upright, walking into the chamber, then turns and starts running towards the platform, which transports him away.
The Normandy/Escape Shuttle flies towards Earth, while the Citadel emits the pulse. Shepard watches from inside the ship he's in.

The Reapers stop in their tracks.
After some time, they eventually change their color to blue, and leave. Shepard: "Anderson did it. The Reapers are leaving."

They land on Earth, and Shepard, along with Joker, EDI and his squadmates, look at whats left of it. Shepard starts walking towards a city.

Short cutscenes show Shepard talking to the representatives of the other races. They leave in agreement, and the non-human fleet departs from Earth, heading home.

Behind Shepard, a memorial plaque lists how many lives were lost in the war, with notable names on top - Thane, Mordin, and Legion - and Andersons name stands on top.

DESTROY: (coming soon)

Really, I prefer this kind of ending to the original one, which was created by bioware.
Anyway same as in DA:O, at least there you could read what happend, but this goddamn lines gave you feeling of story, and choices you've made, in ME3 final battle was totaly annoying, esspecially halfalive Shepard, which doesn't remind me of mine Shepard, who in the end didn't had any choice to convince, or just change something...
3 choices? Really? Are you Serious? I didn't saw them, because every time I saw only one outcome...
And I'm not talking about DA2, all I've tried to do there to save god damn peace between mages and templars, in the end no peace at all o_O
If it will go in same way, I think that Bioware need to change their area of work, because after each game I'm getting more and more disapointed...

I like it, cause it is more logical than God child and hisexplaination, and the stupid sysinthus space-magic crap I'd gone too. And the destroy relay dose not super nova carp as well

But still too bleek for me, this is the last episode for shererd it has to be a decisive turning point for the gallaxy, after all of this I am perty sure the races will not go to war so quickly I mean they are suppost to be "smarter" than us, and it will only happen if you choose pull some renagade opinions then it is more likely but still not that fast.
And definatly more options where shepherd lives, because that is how it was in ME2 and you had to really screw up in that game to cause sheperds death.

Yeah. Now thats more epic.
It's not that the ending of ME 3 was bad or anything, but it leaves you with this hole.... like ..... eeeeeh..... so wat just happened. Is the galaxy safe? No mass relays makes it a happy ending? Did Liara and Garrus survive after that insane run to that beam thingy?
And wat abt Tali's face? Javik sed they're supposed to be legendary in their looks. And yet all we see are tow white eyes behind a blue face mask. WOW. Real beauties they are..... LOL
And are the Krogan now gonna be more docile and less 'ARGH' under ??
| really really hope they make an ending similar to urs. I didnt want Shepard to die. It's not fair. And in the end when he dies and all you see his tortured sad face and blue eyes ..... and that music .... stab to the heart man.
I mean ME 1 had an ending.
ME 2 had such a good ending ( if you survive with everybody).
Many gamers are saying that it's ok if squad mates or Shepard dies n all, but lets face it. Would you have enjoyed seeing Tali melt into nothing if you had not saved her in ME 2's suiced mission?!?! Would you have enjoyed seeing Samara/Miranda under rubble raising their hand and then dying?!?!? Would you rather have enjoyed seeing seeing Grunt get swarmed by all those Rachni and die, or see him fight all those Rachni and prevail ( like how he would if you kept him loyal in ME2).
What the creators did with ME 3 is classic example of difference in views!
Case in point- DEEP IMPACT VS ARAMAGEDDON.
Both movies were based on an asteroid hitting the Earth. But the two stories have different endings.
DEEP IMPACT: Great film, sad ending. Asteroid hits earth, lots of people die. Remaining half of asteroid gets blown up to prevent world annihilation. So great film, but you feel sad, depressed and **** scared of asteroids.
ARMAGEDDON: So-so film, great helluva ending. Asteroid blows up spectacularly in space. The Earth is saved. People are happy. People do die, yes. But the ending is certain. Earth lives!! No one gets scared of asteroids ‘cause when you’ve got such jarheads piloting a mission, how can you lose?!?!?! LOL !!! Only daddy dearest dies. But Who the fudge cares about him : )! You want to see Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck make out in the end anyway (Just as how Liara/Miranda/Tali/Ashley should’ve in ME 3)!
What the bioware team wanted to create was a deep-impactish moment. Bitter-sweet. And the ending they created is bitter-sweet, but it left too much room for interpretation. You don’t really know if the galaxy is safe again. After all, the mass relays were destroyed. The whole story was not simply about getting rid of the Reapers, it was about the connections that you make with the various species and squad mates.
Bottom line:
ME3 needs a better ending. The fans aren’t asking for a more ‘realistic ending’. Hell, ME1 or 2’s ending was unrealistic, but who cares. It’s our Shepard playing badass against the ‘old machine’ and he’s backed by some of the most colorful squad mates (literally) in the galaxy. He’s Armageddon’s Ben Affleck. So preferably, don’t let him die. There needs to be a MASS EFFECT 4 after all. HEHEHE ....

The problem with the final mission in Mass Effect 3 was that none of your choices mattered at all in the end. You could screw up and get the Turian Krogan alliance broken. Choose the weaker between the Geth and the Quarians (based on choice in Legion's loyalty mission in ME2), let everyone that could die, and in the end, the final mission would play out exactly the same. Literally all of the "major" choices in the trilogy have been converted into a number. Chose to save the council? Killed the Rachni Queen? Collector Base? At most all of these choices make a difference of maybe 150 war asset points. That's less than one of the major forces that you recruit throughout the third game. I mean seriously, the Krogan alone are worth roughly 800 points, while whether you saved the Collector base or not made a difference of 10 points. Whoo. Kind of ruined the point of importing.

Jeez, Mattressexual, you make it sound almost like they were designing an adventure/shooter for people who hadn't necessarily played the first two games.;)
