BioWare is aware of the cheating that is occurring in multiplayer. We believe our multiplayer mode is a valuable addition for our fans, and we hope you are having just as much fun as we are while playing co-op with
your friends.

For our fans, we acknowledge that some people are cheating. We are actively monitoring server logs since the Demo of Mass Effect 3 and when we find obvious signs of cheating, we are acting against those individuals. Our focus is to remove the type of cheating that is detrimental to the honest fans.

To some of you, it may appear that we are not doing anything against the cheaters. This is not true. However, we are being careful to ensure that the individuals flagged as cheaters are clearly and repeatedly cheating. We do not want to act against honest people.

If you feel your experience has been affected by playing with a cheater, please send us a message at me3mpcheaters@bioware.com. Please also add the Origin ID/Gamertag/PSN ID of the supposed cheater
along with the time of your match(es) with him and why you think this user has been cheating.

If you feel you have been reprimanded incorrectly or wish to appeal any action against your account please send us a message at me3accountadmin@bioware.com.

We appreciate you help and patience with this matter.

I am curious as to what sort of cheating that is going on.

The only form of "cheating" that could be of any harm to the players is having Idlers standing around and gaining XP/Credits they did nothing to earn. Otherwise there is nothing that is overly harmful to ME3's MP going on.

Usually I would rage if knowing if someone was using something such as illegal console mods to get an edge, but since there is no PVP, nor will there ever be any if Bioware hasnt made another attempt to make misleading comments, I see no harm in even those being used.

Disclaimer: I do not in any circumstance advocate the use of mods or any other means of cheating in any video game and those that wish to use them should do so knowing they are at risk of having their console banned if caught.

Your statement can only make sense if we assume that people are only playing so that they might receive credits so they can buy more packs.... for some reason.

Who gets hurt?  Anyone who plays the game for fun or challenge.  If I wanted someone else to play the game for me I wouldn't be playing myself.

Your statement is contradictory.  You say cheating doesn't harm the players because this is a co-op game mode... but does it harm the players in games with a competitive focus?  No.  Cheating in both types of gameplay can ruin the experience though.  As I mentioned above, if we wanted unlimited credits or to have the game played for us we probably wouldn't be logging on to play legitimately.

The only cheater I've ran into so far had modified his/her Avenger to do massive damage.  He was mowing down atlas mechs in half a clip on silver difficulty and his reloads were instant.  I was amused at the show this person was putting on and for the most part the rest of us on the team just watched him do his thing because there wasn't much we could do because stuff went down so quickly.  I remember the person was playing a quarian infiltrator, I noted that because before we started the match I was looking at their setup in the lobby trying to decide which weapon I should bring to compliment the team and wondered why an infiltrator would be bringing an avenger into the match.

I wasn't particularly annoyed with this person because it was kind of funny and interesting to watch, but if I had to deal with that every other match I'd probably quit the multiplayer altogether because there's no point of landing in a match where you're basically put on the sidelines.

Bioware/EA's wallets get hurt, duh. If credits are simple to come by, no one will by origin cash or whatever RMT method the consoles use.

so true.... poor people dont realized they are getting dupped into spending money on worthless items.

Multiplayer DLC is nothing more than a money dump

Bioware has Strayed away from the core Masseffect Beliefs with this greedy attempt at getting rich on Multiplayer DLC anyways........Cheats is just more proof of how ill Prepared they are!...

Shouldnt have touched the stove.... its hot isnt it!

I was an Anti Cheat admin for Americas Army, BF2, and Rainbow Six...

You cant keep patching the game after every exploit..... you must have active ways to search for cheats....thats the point im making!

d3d inject wrappers are hard to find if you arent scanning for em...

Basically Bioware has bit off more than they can chew and the Singleplayer Story/Campaign is going to suffer for it.

Im a huge fan trust me..... and im mad... i have the right to be. I have bought every Bioware game made ........................ and i noticed quality starting to dip in areas cause they are trying to get into a market that have no business attempting if they are not ready.

You think the multiplayer in this is going to stack up against COD or BF3....... thats what people are interested it..... they will get bored of fighting bots and the multiplayer side of this will die

I promise you that...........................................

In the demo I ran into one game where everybody was one shotting everything on silver, even with wimpy weapons and that just ruined that game for me, was so freaking boring, so don't tell me cheating doesn't negatively affect anyone. You may not mind being carried through a match, or earning a billion credits in one match or whatnot, but those of us who actually want to EARN what they get, not to mention have fun and the possibility of a challenge, are quite harmed by cheaters. Also yes, I know I can just leave a match where someone is obviously cheating, but it isn't always so obvious >.>

So violent.... Are you krogan..

Im saying its going to be an ongoing issue... its fixed now... but do they have Active Anticheat software to detect the next one or are they going to patch the damn game for all eternity everytime a cheat comes out... its a losing battle.

I aggree with you but this multiplayer has a host of a million other isses to ...
I dont condone cheating but really .............................................like i said.................................what does it matter. Its not really all that fun after 30 mins anyways.   They are not going to support it for ever.

It NEEDS an ACTIVE ANTI CHEAT SCANNER otherwise even you guys will eventually find nothing but games that are full of cheaters or Empty

I get that its unfair... just trying to open the other eye... there are other issues .... other than cheats that are a more grave concern.

I give it a year tops and this multiplayer will for the most part die off if there  is no active anticheat protection

I know my friend in the demo had a game where they were getting objectives every round and he ended up gaining something like 800k of money by the end of the match. He thought is was pretty stupid that people could modify the game in that way.

It IS pretty dull if people have hacked weaponry and things, the whole idea is to work as a team...

yes it is... but what its going to boil down to is people just wanna get the points they need quick without grinding in multiplayer

Bioware kinda Created their own Problem!

if multiplayer wasnt tied to singleplayer ... im sure 50% of people prolly wouldnt even play it. Thats another point someone needs to look at before they have to release  patch a year from now to give away points for the Galactic Readiness crap, cause no one plays the multiplayer anymore..

Needs PVP as well... bots are gonna get old!

That will solve the constant patches needed for AI... Humans Fight Very Different than bots.... im getting to the point to where even the scary enemies like Banshees are easy ... just move and shoot... move and shoot... wow how fun is that... Humans devise Tactics and plan better

Then your servers will always be populated with someone killing something!

I would suggest inspecting some of the people on the top of the Leaderboards. I got a Rating of 197 and am playing since the 5th March all day long (haven't touched the singleplayer). Yesterday on the Polish Leaderboards for PC the first guy was around 260 (today he's ~300) - I'm pretty sure he is legit, 'cause I've been watching he's progression constanlty.

having that in mind someone new appeared on the top with a whopping N7 Rating of around 1100. Overnight. Unless he spent over 500$ buying packs with Bioware Points there no way he did not cheat. He would probably would have to spend at least 30 hours clicking on Spectre Packs and Promoting his characters time after time.

Considering that three or four last levels of a class require 500k xp per level and the highest xp u can find in a Spectre pack is +100k xp do the math. I think it's possible by now to have a Rating of +500 if u spent some money AND played all the time. If u just played all the time around 350. Had I promoted every time I'd probably would also be close to 350. But who really does that - most of the "normal" players want to enjoy some Gold matches with their 20lvl characters for a bit.

Keep in mind the game has been out for less than ten days... After a month the line will get real blurry. I'd investigate now. I hope there are other methods the devs have at their disposal as well (logs etc.)

On a side note about 5 days after the release one of such players joined my lobby and I politely asked him how in the world does he have N7360 and TWO ultra-rare weapons of level 10. I asked that he leaves if there is no reasonable explanation which he did immediately.

But as Bioware has said MANY TIMES you don't need MP to do EVERYTHING in SP.  AT ALL

You could never ever ever EVER play Multiplayer AT ALL and still complete the game in SP the same as EVERYONE ELSE.  THats a poor excuse for this.

Bioware hardly created the problem with having to grind some for credits to unlock stuff in Multi, thats like saying that cheating would be fine to do in just about any game where you play for some in game currancy to unlock things.

Super Monday Night Combat, League of Legends, Tribes Ascend, or an other game where theres an in game currancy you grind for to buy stuff!

Obviously every RPG ever created their own problem with cheating and it is perfectly fine by making people kill monsters for xp to advance or to buy equipment in the game!

Your arguement doesn't make sense.

As for your wants, some are more important, I doubt PVP is that important right now vs making things balanced and enjoyable with the gameplay that is there NOW.  Trying to balance the mechanics in game now to PvP would be a NIGHTMARE.  You consider the level of HP/Shields on most players, other players would freaking DECIMATE eachother.  Short of an L4D style but hell, I'd not want to give players control of anything with a one hit kill thats for sure.

The other points except maybe Anticheat for the time being are needed (or at least an easier manner to add people via origin in the game).  And Anticheats take alot of resources and time and constant updating.

i just think it would be alot nicer to beable to take all that bad@ s s stuff you unlock and fight human players ... i just find the fighting Prescripted Events with Prescripted Bots Boring after a while

PVP is where real skill is at... Not taking down a dumb bot that can get lured into areas of the map and get stuck to get raped.

I feel the pain though... i see how long it takes to unlock stuff myself... which is why i consider multiplayer worthless... I cant enjoy it in the state its in. Seems very lacking and sort of poorly thought out.

just think how much fun would a 4v4 PVP style ME3 multiplayer feel.... I think thats the area they should have went ... and then used something like PB for anticheat detection.

Even though it isn't PvP, it doesn't mean there is no competition. People are to an extent competing against their friends and other players to see how many kills, xp etc they get. Unlocking rare items and classes is exciting because they are rare. If a bunch of people hacking the game get these easily it does diminish other players enjoyment even if it is not to the same extent of doing it in Starcraft.

Yes, 4v4 would be so fun...get hit by warp, get hit by throw, dead.   With the current state of HP/Shields 4v4 would NOT work, you'd need to buff them to hell or lower the damage on ALL abilities and weapons MASSIVLY.  People would be loathe to ever leave cover.

I've fallen off of two different maps and had serious glitches the rest of the match. It let me walk in midair and on top of buildings. I hope that doesn't flag me for cheating because all I did was go into cover and that's what happened. I remember where one of the places was but not the other. One was on the with all the satellites and the other on Firebase Ghost.

me too.. i have gotten stuck in places as well but hey.... that guy has 50 million spectre packs....its a shame im stuck in a wall... they should really fix the cheats.... i dont mind being stuck in a wall

Little sarcasim for ya

This needs to be the Ta Fix list:

No Text Chat (cant type in a multiplayer game... WHAT) And if you do this dont mess up like Battlefield 3 did and put the chat all in your Face ... nice cosy spot in the upper left hand of the screen would be nice

No Mute Options (cant mute the guy blasting gansta rap or calling everyone on the team Fing Noobs)

No In-Game Buddy System (have to use a forum/Origin to find friends while other EA titles like Battlefield have a
buddy Chat system)

No- Anticheat detection (Active scan for Expliots/Hax/Weapon Mods Edited INI values with CVar checks ETC)

Needs PVP as well. (We have fought your AI for 3 Games LET US FIGHT EACH OTHER NOW!!!!!)

This game has the best, complex, and most comprehensible combat system i have ever seen. I love it ... which is why i dont wanna see it die............................................................the REAPERS CANT HAVE MY GAME!!!!!!!!
