There's a "fairly" common cheat going around that gives more credits and experience than usual. A few people in this thread have mentioned it.
The one version I experienced had these characteristics:
Enemies acted normally (No one shots, no unlimited ammo, you could die)
Missions (Data Collection, Hacking, Kill List) had an unusual number of targets to download/kill.
- This meant that instead of killing 4 targets, the time limit reset after 4 and we killed another 4, and then another 4. Ditto with downloads.
The game obviously took a bit longer than normal (instead of a 25min silver match, it was something like 40 minutes)
~120k credits received
I can't remember the exact amount of experience gained, but it was alot, probably in the ballpark of 700k-1mil.
Regardless, this happened during the demo and I haven't seen it happen since. There have been a few instances during the retail game where I either felt like someone was cheating or the team had an advantage, but it always ended up being either someone really skilled (maybe an aimbot in a few instances) or a great combination of powers.
As far as Coalesced cheating goes, I haven't modded my own Coalesced but I do know for a fact that many of the multiplayer settings are stored client side. I'm not sure whether this includes credits or not but given that the game is primarily focused on single player, it's no wonder that people are able to modify game files in order to give themselves advantages in a MP setting which seems to have no server side authetication beyond very basic information.
