Was just in a match with a hacker. One shotted everything once barriers/shields were down. Every now and then the player gave everyone ~900 ammo. There's no way we could be banned for that, is there? Kinda scary that one user can "hack" the other players.
As far as I've understand, the poster said "monitoring server logs" meaning that to them. The statistics is indiscriminate to everyone. You've taken a match, willing or not, with a hacker and as such, prone to be reprimanded. To recieve credits and xp in such a way leave anyone liable as an accomplice even if you leave. But, from what I've read, there's no cheat protection implemented meaning its free reign for a unspecified amount of time. Although cheating in the game is a heated topic for discussion, I think that Bioware is fixing the ending to calm the thousands of players protesting. But, do not despair, the guys will get banhammered in time. And, as far as banhammer goes, there will be other games to play. Move on and know that cheaters will come as well. Its just the inevitable truth of things.
1 hacker + 3 players = room
4 players = room
4 hackers = room
1 player = room
1 hacker = room
Now, find out the sales on PC and thats how many rooms that you may think are legit...
statistics are the way to go...

BioWare is aware of the cheating that is occurring in multiplayer. We believe our multiplayer mode is a valuable addition for our fans, and we hope you are having just as much fun as we are while playing co-op with
your friends.
For our fans, we acknowledge that some people are cheating. We are actively monitoring server logs since the Demo of Mass Effect 3 and when we find obvious signs of cheating, we are acting against those individuals. Our focus is to remove the type of cheating that is detrimental to the honest fans.
To some of you, it may appear that we are not doing anything against the cheaters. This is not true. However, we are being careful to ensure that the individuals flagged as cheaters are clearly and repeatedly cheating. We do not want to act against honest people.
If you feel your experience has been affected by playing with a cheater, please send us a message at me3mpcheaters@bioware.com. Please also add the Origin ID/Gamertag/PSN ID of the supposed cheater
along with the time of your match(es) with him and why you think this user has been cheating.
We appreciate you help and patience with this matter.
Given the the primary method of cheating is through Coalesced edits...
If a player made a new difficulty/faction type via those edits and set up games with friends using those edits, (Not setting it to super easy credit farm mode btw...) would that get flagged as cheating? Would it get reviewed realistically or be instantly handed an Origin Ban?
If a player is banned from Origin, do they lose access to games they have activated on that account?
What about a player making changes to single player, such as camera controls or appearance edits? Would those be flagged as well?
I'm not asking Bioware to support full on Bethesda style modding... but some information one way or the other would be very very well recieved...
Hope to hear something.

I think that would be the best course of action, honestly. Checking the values in an ini isn't exactly rocket science, and preventative measures seem like they would be far less abrasive than punishing the players afterwards.Lexa_D wrote...

I disagree, I like to check the leaderboard and if I'm number 10,000 and 9,000 of the people ahead of me are cheating they are making the game much less fun for me.

After logging in the game, play single player. While at a fight, such as Grissom Academy, my game tends to crash. At this point several things happen.
- if reloading, bullets become infinite next time I log in (this is not always the case but frequently)
- if reloading, in multiplayer and there is lag reload is instant and I will fire multiple times
Replinishing Items:
Note: This does NOT happen with GRENADES.
Note: This DOES happen with Multiplayer Missile Launcher / Med Packs
Once a match is complete my Missile Launcher and Med Packs reset. I don't know if this is supposed to happen or not. I suspect not as I can buy them from the Recruit Pack in the Store.
Other Cheat Issues / Possabilities.

During the Demo I watched a Krogan spam firing that red explosive blast that they have. At first I thought this was a Power Efficiency thing. Then I thought it was a Power Amplifier thing. Having tried out both I couldn't replicate what they did. I asked around my more computer savvy friends and I was pointed to the link above. The site provides cheats (which work) for practically every game out there. Some are free. Some must be paid for.
-------------------------------------------------
What these do (that I've tested so far): -----------------------------------------------------
In Single Player:
Infinite Health
Squad Health
Unlimited Shield
No Reload
Accuracy --- (not sure)
Recoil
--- (none)
Rapid Burst --- (seems to speed up fire on some weapons)
No Cooldowns
Add Credits (causes crashes)
Add Med Kits
(causes crashes)
Add Grenades
(causes crashes)
Add Paragon
Add Renegade
Unlimited Fuel
Fast Space Travel
(causes crashes)
unlimited Scans / Reset Alert
-----------------------------------------------------------Multiplayer----------------------------------------------------------------
No Reload
Accuracy --- (not sure)
Recoil --- (none)
No Cooldown
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure someone will freak out after I post this.
-- However, I've been buying the Spectre Packs with real money.
-- Yes, I am reporting cheats. Oh no. I'm sure they will still work for single player even if EA discovers how to prevent them from working in Multiplayer.
There may be several other cheats out there yet. I'm not sure but this should be a good start in figuring out what they are and what they may apply to.
Note: The Unlimited Health/Shields cheats do not work in multiplayer CONSISTENTLY. I've tested this repeatedly on several difficulties.
Unlimited Shields practically never works.
Unlimited Health seems to increase health by some insane amount. Example: I rushed into the face of Atlas and Geth Primes where upon I took three shots before dying. This number decreases by difficulty.
Time and Money:
From what I can tell (and maybe I'm just a bad player) these cheats only enable a person to cut down soloing a match from 30 minutes in Bronze to 15 minutes. In Silver it depends on the map selected, class used and spawn. However, it still comes out to about 22 minutes on average. On Gold, well, I have only survived one match beyond round three or no.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheats to do With Clipping:
I'm still trying to figure this out. On the map with the city composed of stacked houses, people are clipping up onto the roofs and staying there. Then shooting down into the enemies. However, once up there doesn't seem to be a way down. I noticed that the discovery of this bug is coming about when someone biotics a baddy into a wall. My guess is that this is the same bug which can cause you to become stuck in a wall if running at something you can jump over. The avatar will run at the wall (and if striking a corner) suddenly appear above the wall, on the corner. There it is stuck. The issue is the stuck-ness.
Another place this happens alot is Firebase Dagger. On that map the person will bounce around all over the place. This seems to provide no clear advantage and every disadvantage. The player becomes stuck in the ground rather than on top of something. However, they will randomly appear in the sky or anywhere on the map. Ways to do this seem to be biotics again or an enemy pounding the person into the wall. It's rare though and I haven't seen it done intentionally yet.
Noveria looks like it should have this sort of glitching but so far I've found no way to cause an enemy or player to end up where they should not. I have, however, noticed that Nemesis can get on the ledge behind the landing pad. The same thing occurs in various ledges around Firebase Giant. How these could be exploited I have no idea. However, it stands true in games: if the npc was there, then so too can you be.
I hope all this helps weed out a few more things. I'll post back as soon as my game works again. Yes, ironically enough, after testing all this my ME 3 isn't working very good. But I love multiplayer. I'd like to see the hacks stay out of it.

First of all, this just seems like a major glitch, and I wouldn't really call it cheating. Second, that's Single-player, this thread is in regard to cheating on Multi-player.

You may just have excess Missile Launchers and Med Packs. There's not really a limit to how many you can have, just only allowed two per map playthrough.

Biggest waste of money I've seen so far. Can easily get a Spectre Pack with just two Silver Match playthroughs.

On a different note, most cheats like that will only work if you are hosting the game, so not that great for random multiplayer.

Agreed, but I really wanted to understand how Krogan was doing that. They practically soloed the round for us. This was a Silver Difficulty played against Reapers. They used no other attack. There is a machine gun with explosive rounds which may have allowed for this cheat to work as it did. I'm not sure though.
Firebolt145 brings up something I ran into last weekend. I was in a match Saturday morning I think. It was a really fun match as everyone was biotic. We decimated things. I think we played four times. At the end, we picked up someone and exactly the same started happening. Things went from fun to FAST. We did a Silver round in 14 minutes and then a gold in maybe 18. I've only completed probably 6 gold matches my career so far: largely because I can't keep a connection beyond half an hour very often.
Anyway, I don't believe the hosting thing is true. Here's one test I did with the cheats / glitches listed above:
Attempt 1:
- I turned on every single cheat on the list.
- ran a private match
- tried to replicate the Krogan thing
- failed
Attempt 2:
- tried to find out how fast a match goes with no cooldowns
- Intent: to find out what the biotic match was that went so quickly
- Bronze 15 min, Silver 20-25, Gold 30
- Deduction, none of the cheats I have found reproduced what I saw.
- There are more cheats out there than the ones I've listed
Attempt 3:
- Deleted the cheat (after turning it on) and ran the game.
- SEVERE problems.
- Lots of crashes.
- Afterward... whatever had been left on stayed on.
- Why do this? I have noticed in previous video games that a lot exploits start out from this method. The method works as long as a system uses the same script/process for something. ----Usually the way this goes is a thing is found that is broken.
----The break is found to occur across everything in the game. Example: A merchant sells such a such for X money.
----When the merchant becomes broken the item sells for some other amount less/more.
----The player then notices all items in every store are reduced by that amount.
----The player proceeds to replicate this glitch and ends up with a ton of free or very low priced items.
---- In this case --- I wanted to see if the game is using the same base for both multiplayer and single player.
-- I also wanted to see if breaking it once is permanent.
- -Outcome: Turning the cheats on and then deleting the cheat really breaks the game in bad ways. However, it also revealing. Hosting a new game after the cheat is deleted still effects whatever files the cheat handles.
Accidental Discovery: Joining a game after doing this doesn't change anything either. Hosting or not. All the cheats on still effect everything.
Disturbing Discovery: One of the Cheats weakens enemy health. This cheat CONTINUES TO EFFECT enemies IN MULTIPLAYER.
I've got no problems with someone cheating their way through a single player game. That's their business. I've got some very big problems when someone can effect other people's games.
Solution:
- Go to an IT friend and have them gut the cheat script to figure out how it works
- still waiting for answers. I'll posted more when I find out.
Helpful Thoughts: There was a file in ME 2 which people were modifying to overcome the Miranda / Jack argument requiring max (near max?) paragon/renegade. If anyone can find this I would suspect whatever that cheat did to modify ME 2 is similar to the ME 3 cheats currently out there.
Question:
Does anyone know if it would be possible to update the file effected by cheats by sending a tiny reinstall packet to the files that would be effected by a cheat? That would, if possible, probably kill every cheat like this from effecting multiplayer. Each time a person hits "quick match" they be forcing themselves to download a cheat-erase.

So I queued up for a gold reaper game and was thrown into one underway, wave 7 or so. It started feeling really fishy when wave 8 and 9 went down ridiculously quickly and at wave 10 I noticed that my health could not go down, my shields would instantly start regeneration and I was one-shotting things with my warp. At the end I got the XP (which didn't matter anyway since I was lvl 20) but 0 credits.
It was the first time I had come across any hacking so...that was interesting.
I think the issue for BW is that the credits were being "stolen" in the millions.
As far as tweaking the host ini file to affect difficulty and
even weapon abilities I think that this could just ruin the experience for the
public player. If teams wish to make things a little different sure.
However I would hope they should not expect to get any credits at the end of
the game.
Also as far as levels and leader boards. I have
seen many people at 120.

All in all, without cheat detection of some form; game is doomed for people who don't cheat. Or in this case actually inadvertantly forces others to cheat as well.

It's kind of disgusting that plain-text coding can be altered to cheat. Even more so, because they sell irl $$ items for multi that can, in effect, be stolen as easily as TV shows can be torrented...

I've played with lots of one-hit-kill hosts. I just, for the first time, played with a god-mode host. As long as damage toward me ended faster than my lag, I was invincible (health and shields regen as soon as they are depleted).
Had my first encounter with a one-hit-kill host last night. Forgot to to take a screenshot to catch his name. I immediately left the game when I saw him one-hit a Banshee on Wave 3 of Gold with a throw.

There's a upgrade of Nova power when Novaspends only half the shields - so you can hack 2 in a row and if there's a small time in between when your shields start to recover you can get a third one - happens to me quite oftenlethalinjecter wrote...

I haven't played Human Vanguard since the demo, just Asari, but as far as I remember your barriers don't need to be up they just affect the strength of your Nova. Also keep in mind that with Half Blast you can use it twice in a row, combined with a light weapon you can get near instant CD to spam more.
