I disagree. This isn't about right and wrong; this is about human beings finding the path of least resistance to a goal.

People exploit and cheat because they can. They do not set out with the goal of cheating; they set out with the goal of winning. This is the easiest path to their goal. This has nothing to do with morality.

It's about challenging your own abilities, not winning per se. And yes it has to do with morality, just like in competitive sports some people take drugs to win and others don't. For some it's about a good challenge and a hard earned win, for others it's just winning at all costs...

Why do you insist on applying arbitary human vaules on something which does not have any? Right and wrong is a matter of perspective. It's opinion, at best. The fact is that if people are able to do it, they will. The buck stops with Bioware.

I only play occasionaly and get disconnected 80% of the time. Yet my N7 rank is 397. I would imagine people who have lots of time to play and don't get disconnected have rank of 3000-4000...

I joined a game about 3 days ago where if you used certain weapons such as the Avenger or Widow... you would have unlimited ammo, fully automatic and one shot kill. Unfortunately, I do not remember their names (they seemed to be in a group) but it was pointless and no challenge what so ever on Reaper Gold. It was interesting to see what wave 11 would have been actually like though... not good...not good.

doesn't help that there's a buying from store credits disappearing glitch now. almost makes me feel like cheating out of frustration. but i can't find the cheat program, so meh.

i've lost the interest to play in multiplayer for now.

Because certain things are not arbitrary but reflect commonly accepted values - otherwise we wouldn't have laws. You  might disagree with them, but the majortiy does not.

Here's a thought for you: if you could kill another person, without getting punished - would you do it? I suspect the vast majority of people wouldn't, because we have been brought up with certain morales and values that we adhere to.

If I had a reason to do it (like it would save 10 other people) then yes, I would.
Morality is a complex topic, and the best minds of mankind have worked on it since the dawn of time. The work is far from done...

Well.. I played few times with cheaters with unlimited ammo, Huge credit on bronze, etc..

I came to the BSN and found out I can report cheaters so I reported one guy last saturday(5 days ago) and guess what? He's still on top 20 of global N7 ranking meaning nothing was done to his account. Is BioWare actually doing anything against cheaters or not?

With current structure how MP is played, there is no way to stop cheating anyway.

I am really getting discouraged to play MP further now..

That is exactly what I saw a while ago. It was the most pointless match so-far. I belive it's just one person that is causing it not the entire team. Cheating is a known problem and yet still there are holes like that open for everyone it seems.

The only form of "cheating" that could be of any harm to the players is having Idlers standing around and gaining XP/Credits they did nothing to earn. Otherwise there is nothing that is overly harmful to ME3's MP going on.

Usually I would rage if knowing if someone was using something such as illegal console mods to get an edge, but since there is no PVP, nor will there ever be any if Bioware hasnt made another attempt to make misleading comments, I see no harm in even those being used.

Cheating also harms player progression and skill.Multiplayer forces you to fight wave upon wave of enemies and to do that your forced to adapt to survive to meet the challenge of your enviorment by learning how to better use your powers,combos,cover,ammo usage,weapons,ect and so on thus improving your skill not only in multiplayer but single player as well.

I couldn't keep up in sp insanity mode but after a week in mp being forced to fight,adapt and survive, insanity has become a breeze. When someone hacks infinite shields and ammo for the team, it just makes the players lazy and soft, making them a hinderance and liability to other teams who play fair.

Edit: A 'mute' function would also be nice.

Sadly the true bioware died out a while ago, EA ruins everything . Just look at origin or pc's Battlelog system (the only way to join online servers) if you don't believe me

Who ever is using credit cheat pick me.Since I keep getting ripped trying to buy items.Maybe 10 tries I can actually get 1 item.When you can't even get recruit pack it sucks.Also it should of never been tied to SP.Then I wouldn't have to bother with it.

The extent it is connect to SP is negligable. Does not make a difference whether you play MP or not (I, for one, did not touch MP before the first playthrough - on insanity - was over). This has been said at least a million times.

I am currently in a game where you can 1 shot every mob including brutes and banshees. I don't know who the leader of the party is in order to report him I will have to sit out the entire game.

Can this result in me being mistaken for cheating or not? Because if it can I will leave as it was my initial reaction.

edit: finished the round to send a report on the email. if you ever get in a lobby with mrloufer as a host - leave.

I was a victim of a cheater yesterday. I noticed that when I got 3000000 credits at the end of the match!
Unfortunately I couldn't identify the cheater 100%. I immediately left the lobby and the game and wrote an email to bioware. I haven't and I won't use any of the credits, but I am really afraid of getting banned . Are there any further things that I could do? I just hope that Bioware deletes everything that i earned during this match. How long will it approximately take Bioware to do something or answer?

To be honest, Bioware is lucky (I know this isnt the most appropriate word here) with their fanbase and that the basic gameplay (for sake of simplicity let's include mechanics, graphics etc. here) is real good. Otherwise MP would be a one weekender. At least for me. And if things don't start changing, I predict many will get tired of it real soon.

I agree with  you, but I also believe that ethics could come into play in case the game was reasonable (I specifically mean the store system here).

BW is not the thought police, they will punish cheaters and not bystanders. As the original post says, you can report cases that you feel effect your MP experience. Getting some extra creds just like that would compensate for the lack of proper weaponry or goin through 10-15 packs of different types without getting rockets or medigel. 

And in case any BW staff is reading this, I am saying this as a dedicated fan and ME2 CE and ME3 CE buyer, with all available DLC (well, except the fashionista ones) bought with real money. And I will pay for the products in the future too, but I pay for MP content only if I know what I am buying.

We need an official statement regarding the spending of credits earned by cheating as an innocent player.
I am afraid of getting banned, just as the user that has reported the same issue a few weeks ago.

This needs to be the Ta Fix list:

No Text Chat (cant type in a multiplayer game... WHAT) And if you do this dont mess up like Battlefield 3 did and put the chat all in your Face ... nice cosy spot in the upper left hand of the screen would be nice

No Mute Options (cant mute the guy blasting gansta rap or calling everyone on the team Fing Noobs)

No In-Game Buddy System (have to use a forum/Origin to find friends while other EA titles like Battlefield have a
buddy Chat system)

No- Anticheat detection (Active scan for Expliots/Hax/Weapon Mods Edited INI values with CVar checks ETC)

I agree with everything you have said in this forum. Do you play on a Playstation or Xbox console?
