I'd like to report 2 people for somehow turning the krogan shotgun into a rapid multi firing weapon on gold difficulty (if that matters)

Cheating in a Co-op game is rediculously stupid. It ruins the fun for everyone else and there is no real point to it.

Just had a game with this guy. He was rolling with a javaline and a claymore and spamming abilities like he had +200% cooldown. Oh and he didn't have to reload, ever. And everything died in one hit once shields came off.

Already e-mailed Bioware about it, but so others know to avoid this one.

Platform: PC
Time: 15:55 GMT +2
Offending player: MrSodebo (N7 rank 1300+)

Method of cheating: MrSodebo played a Salarian Infiltrator whose Energy Drain ability was spammable despite carrying heavy weapons, affected a much larger area than it's supposed to and caused much more damage than it should have. He was killing entire waves of Assault Troopers with a single cast of Energy Drain (this was on Gold, by the way) and spammed it to kill Atlases in about 8-10 seconds. Quit the game after following him around to verify the cheat (around Wave 4 or 5).

BTW, The reporting all of you have been doing seems to be helping. I've noticed a lot less of those characters with ridiculously high NC7 ratings.

Do Single Player mods affect MP ?

I can see quite a lot of PC users getting shafted because they have modified single player which somehow translates into affecting MP.

E.G: I reduced the weight of all weapons to SP via the ini.
Go into MP - All weapons now show a weight of 0
However... when I actually played a game the weight of the weapons was still causing the normal cooldown increase.

Are Bioware really so stupid to have client side files being used for MP ?

I played today a Silver round against Reapers where everything was basically a one hit kill. Unfortunately I don't remember fully the host's name (it was starting with Mr... MrSodonis??, not sure though) but his N7 rank was close to 3000. Other than the entire mission taking 12 minutes and one shot kills, nothing else seemed out of the ordinary (not the XP nor the credits at the end)

You'd think people would be a bit less flamboyant about their cheats. There are things you can do to the .ini that would give you a huge advantage and still not be obvious in the least bit to your team. Obvious to Bioware/EA, maybe - but to your team, not likely.

Why somebody would think that nobody will notice if they're never reloading or going to an ammo box, or spamming powers while holding two of the heaviest weapons in the game - I simply do not understand.

On that thought - It should probably raise a red flag if when you're in the lobby you see a certain class (that typically uses pistols) using a Widow X and Sabre VII - This doesn't necessarily mean they're cheating, but it would give you the idea to keep an eye on them during the match.

Just my 2 cents

I was a victim of a cheater yesterday. I noticed that when I got 3000000 credits at the end of the match!
Unfortunately I couldn't identify the cheater 100%. I immediately left the lobby and the game and wrote an email to bioware. I haven't and I won't use any of the credits, but I am really afraid of getting banned :( . Are there any further things that I could do? I just hope that Bioware deletes everything that i earned during this match. How long will it approximately take Bioware to do something or answer?

I'm in the same situation than you. I'm a vicitm also of a cheater that got me 7,5 million at the end of the match. I've reported march 24. No answer yet. I still have the credits in my account. I have also contacted EA support (case #03460454), they told me they can do nothing. They told me to report on this forum (what I did couple days ago) . Good news I suppose, I'm not banned/reset. But I hope they will do something about this.

..aaaaaaaaand yet another. I start the game with about 4-5k credits. End with over 15 million. E-mailed the cheater address, but didn't have much info because the host left at the end and I don't recall the name.

....and origin Online help is not helpful. Tell them exactly what happened and I get: "Could you please elaborate your issue more clearly?"

Just had some human vanguard with like 30k more points than everyone else, shooting swarmers with one perfect shot with the pistol every time (and yup was host). The guy never seemed to die either, considering he was running into groups of brutes/ravagers and marauders spamming Nova..

I think a lot of the cheating attributed to vanguards isn't true. They're just really over-powered... I play a vanguard and got kicked once after ending a game like, but I wasn't cheating duirng it. At lvl 20 you can max your carrying capacity and have 200% cooldown with shuriken X and Predator X. Then with 100% shield boost perk after biotic rush and the 50% shield nova's, it's pretty easy to charge groups of brutes/ravagers and marauders and spam nova. The cooldown on biotic rush is low enough that you can permanently chain rush/nova/heavy melee combos while keeping your barriers up and the only way they can stop you is to stagger you. I wouldn't recommend doing it on Gold though and silver is pretty tough... As for the swarmers, you just have to be patient when shooting and any weapon will one shot them. However, ending 30k points ahead of your team is obnoxious and risky because it means you spend the entire game as a kill hungry psychopath and you tend lose focus of things like "objectives" and "hacking" as well as pissing off your  team for taking all the kills. But I had one awesome game with a guy named GabeReese (or maybe ReeseGabe?) where we were neck and neck the whole game. Twas glorious...

Also, that crap where they fly through the ceilings or fall through the floor is a horrendous bug (not a cheat because you can't do anything there except die from environmental damage) that occurs if they get killed as they biotic rush. It knocks them off the floor (or into it) and as the game goes on it gets worse. Taking cover or using more rushes exasperates the problem until eventually they just fly into the sky or fall off the planet. Then we're stuck there the rset of the game and feel awful as we watch our now 3 man team try and win without us :\\

So please don't kick vanguards if they end the game 30k points ahead of everyone else... Maybe if they're ahead 100k or so then consider it.

Just had a game where a guy started hacking in wave six, floating way above the level and being invincible. He was also somehow making the other players health/shields restore themselves. I chewed him out, and told him to leave, and he did. A few seconds later, I am disconnected from EA online (I was the host).

Pretty retarded.

That makes sense though since you play Bronze to level up. You don't see a lot of lvl 6's playing on Silver or Gold... The higher difficulties are more for the challenge and extra credits I think

I've met a few people on xbox live, coming into the lobby and asking if we're "credit cheating" or something, not sure how many people are doing this. I've ran into 2 or 3 of these people so far, kind makes me mad since I myself have spent cash on points and now people are cheating their way to better items. btw one of these cheaters had a widow x, geez

Anyone else promoted their characters? I did for my Soldier adn Engineer classes, but the two characters that I did all the work with retained their abilities. So essentially, I was running around with a level 3 Engineer whose Combat Drone was firing missiles(one of the two final options), and the powers section said I had -60 or so ability points.

And I haven't seen any cheaters on Bronze and Silver challeges. Maybe they stick to Gold?

Same thing happened to me, I promoted my engineers then EA servers disconnected (as per usual) and ended up with negative points with all previous abilities.  No way to fix except to play through and promote I guess...

No and yes.

No, because if you look at the directory structure of the file in question, there is directory for the single player game and a directory for the multiplayer game. So if you mod your single player weapons it does not reflect on the multiplayer weapons (which have their own entry).

Yes, because, as I said above, it's right there. Right in the file that everyone knew about editing since ME2. Boggles the mind they didn't just create a completely different configuration file for multiplayer, encrypt it, and set autobans for anyone editing that file instead of tangling it up with single player.

This might have already been bought up, but there needs to be a feature to kick idlers.
IMO, someone joining a game and then going afk to earn free rewards is so much more infuriating than hackers.

if they do and and a low lvl person who is dieding alot will get kicked to

No, it could be made an automated response to extended inactively.

That's a rediculous statement: DLC doesn't cost, unless you spend money on the packs.  BUT, if others do what they want with THEIR money, I don't see how this is your problem.  I've seen waaaaaay worse attempts to gouge the consumer through extra game modes (EA's NHL 2011 and the hockey card packs is an excellent example).

I'm glad they went into multiplayer, I'm really enjoying it.  As with ANY multiplayer, there will be douchbags that find ways to get something for nothing.  Don't use the excuse of losers literally not being team players as an excuse to soapbox!

Focus on import stuff, like the mind boggling ending.Image IPB

Agreed. Multiplayer is for fun, and I wouldn't mind spending a few bucks to get a lot more too it. It's the SP ending and possible DLC that we should be more concerned with.
