It's coop game, not competitive. Why do people think that? Scores don't matter, finishing wave 11 with all 4 alive is a lot more important than "individual" scores, who are calculated in a coop way anyway. If someone dies he keeps getting points lol. Some don't understand.

It is competitive, even if scores don't matter. I'd rather have killed the most than the least. I don't get how you can say there's no competition when there is, even though it's over something that doesn't matter in the end.

Not sure where to post this, so I thought this was a good place. Also not sure what to call it. Experience camping? ShArK1E camped out in the extraction zone and waited out the level being cleared by the rest of the party. Ran across this yesterday w/ a different player, is this a new thing?

I've been hearing lots of complaints on that for about two (three?) weeks now, met my own experience with one for the first time just over a week ago.  Most the time they ready up then never move in game, or they'll run to a spot on the map, take cover, and then not move.  In a few rare occurances some sound like they'll randomly shoot into the air, or move to another location every once in a while, I'd assume to try and appear like they are trying.

i hate that vanguard glitch that sends you flying through wall floors roofs but there is no problem with cheating in coop because it helps all the players playing. I understand if its something like stealing other players credits/xp but in all honesty unless a PvP mode comes out i don't care if i see cheaters it justs gives the team as a whole a edge.

I think the main problem is that unless you are paying VERY close attention to the in match leaderboard, it might be hard to tell if a player is XP leeching. The problem comes about when they go down, and you rush over to revive them, potentially putting yourself at risk for what is, essentially, a statue.

@adverb

thanks for the reply! maybe it is a form of protest over the character cards in packs, or the concept of packs themselves? i dunno. i do find it mildly frustrating, as I prefer to play with a full squad, for the pretend-camradie of it all, i suppose.

There is a problem with cheating in coop because there is more than one type of cheating.  The type that hurts the team is the EXP/credit camping that has been mentioned on this page.  I've been seeing it a lot more recently and it really does hurt the team and the overall experience.

The last match I played had a player who glitched himself into the air right away, never shot anything, and placed himself on top of a box where no enemies engaged him.  He sat there the entire round, didn't die, did absolutly nothing, and then left as soon as the exp/points/credits registered.

What angers me about that is my level 20 asari justicar and 2 infiltrators turtled up in my bubble and won on silver while he did that.  So we had to work extra hard just so he could get free credits/EXP.  His name was Reap-Tide and I reported him right away.

The thing is there are people who do that without glitching too.  Just a few matches ago a guy said over the mic as soon as round 1 started, "Hey guys I'm going to get something to eat, I'll be back for the next one."  He then just sat in one spot and died over and over the whole round.  We won and he got the points, then he left.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there less boss enemies if you're shorthanded?  If the 4th player just stands there, you are facing all the boss enemies that a 4 person team would face, but with only three.  That's really selfish and undermines the entire fun-factor of playing on harder difficulties, which is teamwork.

If I heard someone say that, I'd have left the game right then.  Best to do it right at the start if you realize they just plan on leeching.

I don't condone the cheating/hacking but I've always wondered what a full auto Widow would be like and now I know. :D

I agree. I for one refuse to play on bronze and try as much as I can not to touch Silver but when idiots like them join Gold runs it takes away all the fun. Had a guy last time on Firebase Condor. I don't know how he did it but he took cover at the top of the hill and the enemies kept shooting him but he wouldn't die. At round 10 he rushed to the extraction point so it was definitely a hack.

Easy fix.

Add an in-game kick option.
It'll fix both the cheating/afk problem.

Yh in-game kick option is a must. Also needed is the right to kick as host. I host to get lagfree experience and sometimes have to leave my own lobby because of retards or people who are level 1 and want to play gold and will simply not leave

this glitch is mostly lag related, if the player loaded all three equitment slots he may not of wanted to loose them over the glitch, I don't think it was on purpose
I played 3 gold matches last night with level 6-17 and we one them all
gold is not that hard

No it was not lag related.  No he did not have ANY equipment because I always look at what my team-mates have before the match and he had nothing.  Lets say that he did have all that equipment.  Why didn't he, I don't know, use his newfound and "accidental" invincibility to SHOOT SOMETHING?  The mobs were spawning right next to him and walking right next to/in front him while never firing a shot at him.  Maybe if he shot at them they would stop ignoring him and his glitch wouldn't work.

No.  He was cheating.  I hope he gets his stats reset.

Noticed the other night a Krogan in God mode. I mean, I know Krogans are tough but it shrugging off Pyros and Primes at point blank range without concern. I watched in awe cause in any class I've played in Silver or higher a Pyro and Prime can take you down in seconds ay close range.

If he was a Krogan Vanguard, that's actually pretty commonplace. Kroguards have high shields, plus a biotic barrier power that decreases damage taken, PLUS the ability to restore all their shields as soon as they use Biotic Charge. With the ability to stagger enemies with their melee / shotgun combos, they can survive most close-combat situations.

In short- he probably wasn't cheating.

About the xp/credit leechers, I've seen a few of those, but I'm not as quick to point fingers as some people.

I'm not for kicking someone over connection problems, even if it does mean they're passive all through the game. Technical problems aren't anybody's fault and can happen to anyone, and usually the very same people who complain loudly that players experiencing a glitch should be kicked will be raging even more loudly about others kicking them when it's their connection making trouble.

You can usually tell fairly easily - when someone's running on the spot, disappearing through a wall, stuck on top of a crate, jumping around uncontrollably or being ignored by enemies, it's probably a technical issue and not deliberate leeching on the player's part.
If they're sitting in the LZ or in cover, being attacked, killed and then possibly getting you killed trying to rez them, that's probably a leecher.

I have seen a few of the latter, but I'll also admit to having had a few cases of the former. I have been catapulted off the map once or twice, and I've had the Vanguard jumping glitch and the funny thing that happens when the host has a bad connection and you suddenly can't take any actions any more (like, reloading or using abilities) and yes, I stayed in the game regardless. Partly because I was still having this vague hope it might fix itself, and partly because I didn't want to lose the points I had helped gather until I started glitching.

I have also pulled a few non-glitchy but completely passive players through missions, partly because there's no choice and partly because really, it's just bronze. You don't need four people anyway. You don't seem to get as many leechers on gold.

So if they do implement an ingame kicking option and everyone starts hatefully kicking people who are experiencing a glitch, I'll be the one keeping them in the group, because I'm not that mean.
But kicking people who are just not doing anything? Sure thing.

Did have a weird game earlier that I'm now assuming was due to an "unusual" lobby on the pc.

I was pretty happy at the time, and figured it was down to the +40% damage increase on my salarians energy drain but, thinking about it....

It was a silver game where as soon as a geths shields went down, the energy drain seemed to kill them... Including geth primes.

Seeing something similar mentioned a couple of times in this thread, I'm assuming it was an active cheat and not just one of the many, many bugs the multiplayer seems to have.

When I was a beginning player, I'd run to the extraction point on Round 11 and defend the area.  I notice a lot of players on Round 11 seek the enemy out.

Are you mistaking guys who run immediately to the extaction point in Round 11 for cheaters?

Many of the "cheater" accusation seem to be misunderstandings.   I was once accused of cheating in a Round 6 Silver because I was wiped in the first minute and missed the big standoff in the Hack Upload Chamber (where the other three players were overwhelmed by reaper forces after a long stand-off).  I think the player who accused me of cheating was mad because he lost the match.

There are lots of reason why things can go wrong in match.  In another game, my keyboard locked out and left me standing there for a round before I accepted that my controls were hosed and I rebooted my PC.

I finished a Silver match and the top player had 97,000 experience and the rest of us had 30,000 each. What's the normal point spread for silver? His 97,000 seemed really high, but I suppose if he truly had been hacking the system his score would be crazy higher than that. How do you get 97,000 XP in a match? Good weapons and aggressive playing?

I am familiar with the credit farming glitch/exploit. It hurts no one and requires cooperation of the entire team/lobby. Probably cannot be fixed as it would have been already. Shouldn't be fixed. If people didn't have to invest an absurd amount of time to gain access to the content they have already paid for, than they would not hack or exploit. I paid full price for the game (more in fact because its the CE), is it fair that i may never unlock all the weapons, mods, or characters because i have a life? Bioware created this problem, they shouldn't punish others for simply wanting what they paid for.
