I suspect that this player is cheating in multiplayer on PC. Because of his rank up so fast by rating from 3200 to 3950 in a few hours. He is still not on the top of global leaderboard but now he is rank 10.

Player name : Ps1h0

I just got into  a lobby and game with two people who are in a party together and one of them is cheating.

System:  Xbox 360
Cheaters Gamertag:  FierceDeceiver
Map:  Firebase Hydra
Description of Cheat:  At the back of the base near the Waterfalls on the Hydro Dam,  he was able to get on a structire that is near the opposite end of the stage entrance towards the waterfalls.  It is on the black lip right above the water that angles out so that he can back up when attacked to be 100% safe from damage and than just fire back and kill everything at his leisure.  He just walked over to the two crates and somehow jumped up there.  He was a Human Sentinel (for damage protectio maybe?).

One of the other players left imediately and his friends GT is Wolfman Xlll and my Gamertag is Carpetfresh.  I Left at wave 4 because I was typing this as I was watching him and by the time I was done typing this is the wave that it was at.

Sounds more like a glitch to me, it's hard to perform cheats like this on a console within some serious console mods which would usually be detected by M$ way ahead of time.

Things like that are easy to get past. The only true way to stop it is to give the party the option to kick the non-playing player in-game.

That would be a terrible idea and hope it never gets implemented.  Some poor sap might get kicked last wave and lose all exp and creds they would've gotten just because that majority are d-bags or got in an argument or something stupid and no real fault of anyones.

I agree that being able to kick people is not neccecary,  however booting for inactivity seems fine.  I really dislike people who join lobbies with my friends and I on gold, then goes inactive while we play and he gets rewarded.  If a player hasn't moved for an extended period of time they should be booted,

I am familiar with the credit farming glitch/exploit. It hurts no one and requires cooperation of the entire team/lobby. Probably cannot be fixed as it would have been already. Shouldn't be fixed. If people didn't have to invest an absurd amount of time to gain access to the content they have already paid for, than they would not hack or exploit. I paid full price for the game (more in fact because its the CE), is it fair that i may never unlock all the weapons, mods, or characters because i have a life? Bioware created this problem, they shouldn't punish others for simply wanting what they paid for.

See, this is probably the stupidest argument I've ever heard against the unlock system. Because "I paid for the game and should have instant access to the content". It's like you've NEVER played a video game before in your entire life. I mean, it's not like UNLOCKS have been a staple of video gaming since the earliest mainstream consoles- it's not like they had special REWARDS for beating the game, or beating the game a certain way, or within a certain time, or a certain number of times. It's not like every other Multiplayer game requires you to actually put in EFFORT to get new weapons or characters. Except it IS like that because that's what everybody does.

If you want to ask for a system that gives you weapons based on the things you ACHIEVE in multiplayer, ask for that- but don't pull out this half-baked argument that because you paid full-price, you shouldn't have to unlock anything.

Sorry you misunderstood my argument/complaint. I was defending those that use exploits for thier own gain without the detriment to others. My complaint was not that i should be given anything, but rather, that the content be obtainable without unreasonable investment of time. Example: most other games reward you at set intervals or after specific accomplishments, usually not too difficult for anyone to get. ME 3's unlocks are awarded on a completely random bases (if i wanted to collect trading cards i would, they might be worth something), requiring an unknowable investment of time. The matches are on the long side and the payouts aren't that substantial, reducing gameplay to a tedious grind. If i had a specific goal to work towards it wouldn't be so bad. Waiting for a super-rare possibility i probably will not get just isn't enough to keep me coming back, and it's the reason people are cheating.( exploit, AFK, hack, etc.)
That is my argument, I don't think its unreasonable. I hope its more clearly defined. I know there are those who understand and sympathize. Happy gaming!

Agreed but the only problem with that is that there are ways around that. In Halo Reach, AFKers in Firefight and MM would just tape/rubberband down the joystick and trigger. Unless BW/EA has or can get a system to detect that, we're pretty much stuck with them.

What's the turnaround time for this? Last Friday I sent an e-mail detailing a problem I've had for weeks (that EA "Help" refused to do anything about because they had no "ingame access") and haven't received any replies.

....and of course, the day I post the above, I get an e-mail saying the excess credits were removed. I'll have to check when I get back from work but still, it's nice to get a response.

Especially when it made one thing clear: If you end up in a game where a cheat was used and you end up with millions of credits instead of thousands... do NOT spend those credits. Report it. They'll correct it.

(Eventually.)

Kenton91634 is hosting public lobbies with a game modded to be purely husk rushes.

that doesent sound like cheating that sounds like a zombie survival mod and a awesome one at that

Bioware needs to regress to the never witner nights days when they not only allowed modding but activly encouraged it by bundling advanced toolsets with each game and making the games filestructure very easy to modify.

it is a shame that ea has given them the copyright / DRM STD and it is slowly rotting their brains like ciphalis.

MODDING MAKES GAMES MORE FUN AND REPLAYABLE.

People are more likley to purchase old games for the mods that come out. people are STILL buying cpies of NWN and it is going on 10 years old !!!!

why oh why did atari ever sell bioware to EA

He should NOT have been hosting public lobbies. I don't care what he does with a modded game in private lobbies.

Time: Thursday April 26 2012, 2:50 P.M.
System: Xbox 360
Gamertag:  Taggerrung396
Map:  Firebase Ghost
Faction: Cerberus
Challenge: Silver
Cheat: AFKing.  He was the first to ready up and then he would mash A to live and then when he got revived, he would Get back into cover.

Edit:  He came back in the middle of Wave 9 saying he was never there because of a "Phone Emergency" and had to go outside for his cell reception.  Then how was he able to perfectly know when he was out of cover and just respawned back to life when he was't close enough to a wall to bounce to it?  If you AFK you're cheating, it's a detriment to the other players experience and that goes against Microsofts TOU for a proper banning.  When he was playing during wave 9 and 10 and evac, he never revived anyone and he only went for the objectives and as soon as they were acquired, he ran at his foes with out using his powers or using cover to die.

its called kicking him out. its not cheating. Plus its only silver. Not like you have to have 4 people to finish it. Just kick him and keep playing. no need to cry about it.

Did I miss a dev post somewhere that announced leeching is also cheating and that naming/shaming is no longer against the forum rules?

Not defending leechers, but it's not cheating. Bioware isn't going to do anything to them, but they will do something to you for breaking the rules.

A better solution would be for the system to boot any player who has zero damage done over an entire round (maybe two considering first few are so short) Would also get rid of these tools who come in and then afk for free points.

I was just in a silver game (Dagger/Cerberus) with one player toting a semi-auto Mantis with no reload time and another player's Overloads one-shotting mobs form full health. I can't remember their handles, unfortunately, and I left after wave 3 when I noticed this unusual behaviour.

I'm really hoping I don't get lumped in with them.

He got stabbed at least 10 times in a wave where he was only survivor and I was in spectator mode. He used some sort of cheat where he instantly respawned whenever he got killed. Have a vide of it if needed.

Taking part in the curent 'Operation' is weekend, played three matches at Bronze level (as I'm not very good) one match two players appeared rooted to the spot only moving and firing when the shuttle was inbound! Leaving me and the other player (Krogan charater) to battle our way through the waves. Great I thought finally get a sorce higher than 4 out of 4, guess what these two got 2nd and 3rd places!

Then last night played again got a score of 3 out of 4 as one player went and hid and didn't move or anything for the whole game! Ruining the whole yeah finally got of bottom place moment!

So is this cheating or leeching? Sorry if it a stupid question as to me both are a form of cheating!

Its possible.  Especially if he was a Krogran Battlemaster as he gets shield replenishes every time he uses charge.

Easily bypassed. Only worhtwhile option is to add a kicking option in-game, that everyone has to agree to. Basically same as before the match starts.

i got a question to Bio about what can be considered to be against the rules

If a player starts gold runs as host and Leaves at round 11 forcing a restart and is known to be doing this constantly with a number of different players over a short period of time (say 2 hours worth so its not the host D/Cing). Is this an offense?

And on the matter of is it possible to hack/Cheat on a PS3 sorry to say it is possible to hack/cheat on a PS3 (there a RPG called white knight chronicles on the PS3 and I've seen a lot of player use hacked saves and in game hacks to do thing they shouldn't be able to do)
