I'm going to play devil's advocate and ask who is being harmed by the "cheating"? Considering all we face is bots and everybody gets the same credits, what's the issue? Maybe I've been fortunate to not run into these people but I don't really see the harm. If it was PvP, then I would agree. Also, from what I can gather, these people are exploiting a glitch in the system as opposed to modding or using an external device. If I'm way off in left field, let me know. I welcome any explanation that can enlighten me.
One: It wouldn't really matter if anybody was being harmed or not, because we
all agreed to the Terms of Service- which explicitly state that we cannot exploit bugs in the game, because Bioware/EA can consider that cheating, and have every right to ban us for doing so. By breaking contract, a person ( besides now being "a liar" because they did something they said they wouldn't do ) has violated the trust between the company and themself.
Two: If you read back, or if you look at any other thread regarding the Missile Glitch, many players have encountered it firsthand.. And have encountered it
multiple times. It ruins the game for them, because they're no longer playing a game any more- they're watching a show, where somebody else circumvents the rules of the game and breezes through the levels that their teammates legitimately
wanted to play. Sure, we can just leave the room- but why should WE take a hit, when THEY are the ones doing something they shouldn't be doing in the first place?
Three: The easier it is for people to get credits, the more of a blow that is to Bioware/EA's
potential profits. The company already has a plan for how easily players can get credits, and how it will affect their microtransactions- anyone who abuses a glitch to make it easier to get credits messes up with the company's plan. Now, not only do THEY have no reason to spend money on packs, but people who realize that other players are using glitches to get credits easily will want to spend less money, because they know others are getting it more easily. You can argue that they never would have spent that money in the first place, but that's why it's
potential profits- because we don't know for sure, and we never will now, because people broke a rule.
It harms our game, it harms Bioware/EA's profits, it's a violation of contract, and it's a general nuisance. And
all of that aside, I just plain don't like people who cheat. Exploiting bugs in the system has ALWAYS been cheating in online games, forever; that's not a new thing. You don't have to mod the game to be a cheater.
