Is Bioware penalizing/banning people who stay in lobbies with missile glitchers, or are the bans exclusive to the people who do the glitch?

If someone is using the missle glitch it is obvious. BW has said completing the match will not cause you to get banned. If, however, you stay in the lobby and continue to play another match, then you subject yourself to being banned as well, since after the first match you know very well he/she is cheating.

If you knowingly continue to profit from someone that is cheating, you are just as guilty.

I just saw my first missile glitcher and finished the round like Thomas Abram told us to. That was the most boring pointless 15 minutes of my life. Now I see why you guys get frustrated all the time. I wish my friends would get online.

most of my friends somehow learn it and I have to remove them...I'm kinda sick of it I lose mroe and more friends this way I might liek a person but eventually they just push it where I can't game with them cause I can't trust them

Same here :|. I have a friend who's trying to increase his N7 level and getting credits from platinum by missile glitching. His N7 level two days ago was around 490, now it's around 920. I still try and talk to him the same way as I used to, but deep inside, I'm really mad at him. I secretly nicknamed him "The Fallen" just for fun. lol. :bandit:

7 out of 10 games are missile glitchers, wouldnt expect of EA to lose control of the multiplayer, thought they were all mental or something.

I don't think Bioware should ban people for getting some extra credits by cheating unless it's really really flagrant. Why? Because Bioware cheats me out of things I spent credits on on a regular basis. Any time a glitch causes you to lose or forces you to quit then you lose all of the equipment bonuses you equipped and any expendable items you used become essentially wasted.

- Game freezing. First time trying platinum, it's going really well. Game freezes. Goodbye to three level IV equipment bonuses.
- Drone falls through the map on wave 3. Have to die or quit.
- I wonder if you can cloak while transporting a package? Nope, but you can drop the package through the floor to become unreachable by cloaking while holding it.
- Vanguard glitch. Hope your teammates can finish the match on their own or be courteous and quit (lose credits) so they might get a new player joining.
- Invincible Hunter forces you to have to quit.
- Banshee magnet hands you from a ridiculous distance away, eventually causing a wipe.
- Use up an expendable item but without getting its effects. Also dud missiles.
- You have lost your connection to the mass effect server. Your friend playing in the same match on the same router hasn't.
- Lose because your build is gimped due to various power evolutions and a certain weapon mod that simply don't do what they are supposed to.

Remember that all of these gear bonuses and expendables could potentially have actual monetary value (if I payed for packs).  I don't like playing with people who missile glitch, but to ban someone when people are getting cheated out of credits by an appalling amount of glitches every day seems unfair.

It's a profit deal people (which is fine). If cheating is allowed, then people might not buy, which means they cannot monetize players, which also means that support for the multiplayer will waver.

Take notice of the fact that all Multiplayer DLC (plus extended ending) has been "free" thus far. It means people are paying and they are making money of the content. IT winds down to this, the "free" DLC has already been bought and paid for.

I can't seem to find a single match where there isn't one person using this missile glitch. Should I just stop playing until it's fixed?

Personally I don't see anything wrong with this missile glitch, it helps the team tremendously on gold and platinum runs and it's pretty hilarious someone going all rambo blasting banshees and Atlas's away

This for sure. Happens far too often and is far more annoying than any missile glitching. BW needs to sort all of it out not just the bit they don't like. Oh wait these glitches arn't costing them money (potentially) just us.

Came across my first 'Missile Glitcher' yesterday, was wondering what was going on when each wave was over in a matter of seconds, guy must have fired 7-8 missiles in the first 2 waves while myself and another guy just stood there. Left session as soon as I figured it out. First time I have noticed a missile glitch since I started playing mp.

Why'd you leave? you could've had free credits heading your way.

Figured I could get in trouble for it, like sticking in there knowing very well I would be benefiting from them using the glitch. Don't want any part of it.

Fair point but for me every missile glitcher that does it right is alright in my books, not to mention it gives me time to chill out and have a sandwich when a Missile glitcher's just kicking ass and I get free creds

I am asking this out of my own ignorance to this subject and to the process that might have to happen, but why do they not just fix the missile glitch in the game? Is it difficult or impossible? Not enough time to do so? Just curious. As I stated my ignorance to this subject, I don't understand why that wouldn't be easier to do than sort through all the e-mails. Does anyone have the answer to this question?

I've played a few game with rocket glitchers a few days before the ban wave and I ended up reporting myself to Bioware for teaming up with them but since I teamed up with the missile glitchers a few days before the ban wave, i'm still kinda worried I'll get banned on the next ban wave.

I do think it's ridiculous not to even warn us though.

Host can quit, restarting wave
- Drone falls through the map on wave 3. Have to die or quit.

Why play vangaurd without hosting, it is a well known problem?
- Invincible Hunter forces you to have to quit.

Lag, she would have got you anyway, the game just took a couple seconds to catch up.
- Use up an expendable item but without getting its effects. Also dud missiles.
Sucks, but not THAT big of an issue
- You have lost your connection to the mass effect server. Your friend playing in the same match on the same router hasn't.
Probably the biggest issue, also the most random.
- Lose because your build is gimped due to various power evolutions and a certain weapon mod that simply don't do what they are supposed to.
You knew that before going in, right?

Do most of those suck for the host....yea, but you can try to invite him/her back. Are there more than a few times I randomly keep all my consumables that I used when I finished the last game........yes, but people never want to mention that one when they are complaining.

There is no excuses for cheating, you know the risks when you play the game. When you choose to play you need to be ready to accept the risk or just don't play the game.

I'm finding that the combination of cheaters and militant banning, rather than one or the other, is what is actually making the game worse. I now have to be aware of and police a game, which while really fun, is fraught with unshippable bugs (rockets, vanguards, wave 10 repeats, FBW respawn invincibility, E-drain/cloak desyncs, server instability, the list goes on) or risk being banned myself. I haven't ever tried to intentionally execute any glitch, and never even accidentally popped infinite missiles, but it's becoming impossible to avoid cheaters in platinum. While this already sucks, it becomes even worse when I have to worry about ending up in a PUG WITH cheaters who create "guilt by association." If I left every game with a striker, falcon, whatever, it'd take me 40 minutes to find a platinum game. When I leave after every game with a cheater, I usually find a new one in the next lobby. Given the already sorry state of matchmaking, it's just not reasonable. The solution here isn't to ban cheaters, but to fix the game. If that's too hard, then just take out missiles and lower banshee health a bit.

Sorry. The length of that post is proportional to my frustration. Also, I hate myself for complaining about a video game. :\\

It's not a matter of either/or. They can't re-assign the "policing" team to program bug-fixes (and if they did, it would not make fixing bugs any faster, might make it slower). This missile glitch is so rampant and so game-breaking (not to mention, arguably decreasing Bioware's revenue from microtransactions), that I can't imagine that fixing it is not a priority. But, such things take time. The glitch only started becoming a major problem in the last month or so, right? In order to fix it, the developers assigned to the task of fixing it have to 1) find out what is causing it, 2) figure out how to fix it without breaking something else important, 3) have the fix tested, to check that the fix works, and to check that it doesn't break anything unexpectedly, 4) do whatever internal documentation is required, 5) do any other internal administrative stuff that is required, and 6) deploy it. Plus more stuff that I'm not thinking of.

Software development isn't trivial. If it was, it wouldn't be so hard to find good programmers to hire!

In the meantime, the best they can do is to have the abuse team try to police the cheaters. (And I'm sure the abuse team is not exactly happy about the huge number of complaints they are probably getting, either.)

So if you get credits AND get banned because someone else is using the Cobra glitch, is it 'Gilt by Association'?

When people stop buying packs with real money they will fix it with blinding speed because it would be costing them money. Until then they will let us put up with it, while they have their "B" team work on it. I'm just glad the glitchers are going on platinum instead of Gold now.

Cynical, yes, but probably close to the truth.

That's actually a good point. I can go back to gold and actually have fun playing with my friends again, without having some guy come in and blow everything away, keeping us from actually getting points. 73k per game is still more than enough to keep me happy, especially if we're getting it legitimately

Can anyone link me to an official statement where they say that playing with the same glitcher more than once can also get you banned? I keep hearing about it, and people seem so afraid of it that they're acting like Bioware's neighborhood watch, saying they quit the match and report every glitcher they see. However, I can't find where someone from bioware actually says you will get banned for staying in a lobby with a glitcher. Honestly this doesn't sound like "clear and repeated cheating they say they are looking for. I'm sure they are happy if people are so afraid that they act like little fascists reporting everyone they see, but I haven't seen any proof that they are actually doing the "guilt by association" thing. As far as I'm concerned, the fact that I've never done the glitch and have lost more items to glitches than I've gained should mean that I wont get banned unless it's in error.

And just to clarify, a mistaken ban or two is not proof of this. An official statement is.
