Me as a cold blooded child murderer and Dog to help eat corpse of children i've slain.. Zevran to stand beside me and laugh at the murdered children, and finally Morrigan for me to have sex with

I would love to have a party with:
Me (Dwarf warrior DPS/Tank)
Dog (Dog)
Leliana (DPS)
Morrigan or Wynne (Healer)
But
I really like the Idea of having my character use sword and shield combo but I still want to do decent damage with him. I Know dog is kind of middle of the road, nether tank but not a pure Damage dealer. I want Leliana in the party because I plan on playing a good but hard type and am planing on romancing her. I really like to Morrigan (because of the side boob) but I know starting out she is DPS. And imo Wynne is kind of a blah type character. I know my opinions will change when the game comes out but this is what I am thinking now. What do you guys think?

I hope to have a good balance of roleplaying/powergaming with my party. Well, powergaming is probably too strong a term. Essentially, my team needs to be as effective as possible while still making sense story-wise for me.
My PC is going to be a Dalish Rogue Archer, a smooth-talking, pick-pocketing dynamo. He's fairly hostile towards humanity, so it will be interesting to see how I'll integrate the various human NPCs into the group.
One human NPC I'll be taking along (almost from start to finish, I imagine) is Morrigan. I'm opting to go with a one-mage party (as much as I can afford to do so), and I plan on having Morrigan romance my PC. This leaves Wynne as the odd woman out, I guess. I'll try to swap her in periodically just to get a feel for her.
I plan on specializing as a Ranger, so I feel like my PC and Morrigan will make a formidable back-row duo. They can both reign death from afar, but if things get dicey and some enemies break through my front line, I can summon/shapeshift in order to hold my own.
As for my front-liners, I'm mostly going to be rotating a few guys in and out of the lineup (so to speak). Despite my PC's aversion to humans, I feel like Alistair is kind of integral to the story and so I'd hate to leave him out on my first play-through. Also, his interactions with Morrigan seem too good to miss. It's looking like Alistair will be my primary tank. I'm hoping that the combination of Morrigan and Alistair can, together, sway my PC a bit into grudgingly respecting humanity.
When I'm feeling like switching things up a bit, I'll sub in Shale for Alistair. At this point, I'm thinking of pairing up Shale with Oghren as a meat-shield duo. The dwarf/golem combo should lead to some interesting combos. At the very least, I'll team them up when in Orzammar or any other dwarf-related areas. This, though, depends on whether I care for either of them. Oghren looks like a hit-or-miss character for me. His drunken antics could either be hilarious, or overdone and annoying. I do, however, like the reason that he's a drunk. At least there's a reason. And that reason could lead to some interesting interplay between him and the PC.
This leaves Sten (I'm basically ignoring Dog). Right now, I'm guessing that Sten will become my favourite character in the whole game. His back-story/attitude seem interesting, plus he's just a bad*ss. I'll probably pair him up with Alistair, but ideally I think he'd be more suited matching up with Shale or Oghren. Individually, Alistair and Sten are my two favourite choices for front-liners, but together they seem a bit incongruous. Sten is likely to work well with Morrigan, though.
As far as the other rogues go, I expect to use Leliana about 0.1% of the time. Her piety, for one, will annoy me, and it doesn't match up at all with my Dalish PC. He'll be 100% opposed to the Chantry, so Leliana = an idiot in his eyes. She's also useless in this group, given that her talents are much the same as my PCs.
Zevran, though, might be a different story. He's an elf, for one, so that's a plus for my PC. I'm interested in seeing them interact, hoping that my PC will try to bring Zevran back to the traditional elven ways of life. I also like the idea of an archer rogue/DW rogue combo. Together these two could make for one hell of an invisible poison-dealing, trap-making, backstabbing team. I imagine that Zevran will be swapped onto my front line periodically.
In the end, it all comes down to who I like in-game. My PC and Morrigan are pretty much set in on the back-end, but the front line is kind of wide open. I'd like to lock down two distinct "teams", i.e. two pairs that fight primarily together at all times, being swapped in and out due to story considerations. Who these pairs will be are established in-game, I think. Everyone seems cool right now, so it'll depend on inter-party chatter and how each compliments the others in battle.

My PC will be a rogue, bard/duelist, archer. She'll specialize in coercion and combat training, along with single target archery attacks, some melee archery, and lockpicking. AKA: Mage slayer.
Alistair will be my lovely meatshield. Alistair will neutralize mages quickly, then gather up any remaining melee buggers and keep them on him, while my rogue takes out the disabled mage.
Dog (named Riley) will take care of any non-mage ranged attackers, which my rogue will help take down if there are no mages/after the mage is eliminated.
Wynne will be my healer, and have a few buffs and mostly area of effect spells as well to take out the melee all bunched on Alistair.

I wanted it to be Morrigan, Wynne and Leliana for gameplay sake, but there is no knowing how viable this setup is before knowing for sure how/if Wynne reacts to Morrigan becoming a Blood Mage. It's a pain in the arse really. I'm on the verge of ditching Wynne altogether and going for a companion that is more appealing RP-wise.

Two rogues not being so good? Dude. No matter where they turn, there's a backstab waiting.
If this is like other Bioware games then rogues will not get their oh-so-nice crits and backstabs against a big boss. Meaning a dual rogue party is limited in tough fights.
Having said that, a high cunning character will have superior armor penetration and could deal consitent damage. With a few debuf talents and ones not dependent on crits/ backstabs two rogues could shorten a tough fight.
I will have three but looks like party one will be
Me (Spaard) Elf Rogue
Marrigan
Wynn
Alistair

First playthrough will be Mayat Cousland (my avatar) going sword & board as a proper noble-born protector of the common people and the King's law should.
She will lead by example and from the frontline. Her mabari (tentatively named "Dane" after the Fereldan hero unless I can settle on something better) will be her constant companion in the thick of the action. Wynne will accompany her as (hopefully) the experienced mentor and "soul" of the group who is also in charge of healing, "buffing" and some enemy control/AoE. The fourth spot will go to Leliana because I hate leaving locked doors and chests alone, and because her skill with a bow will provide some needed ranged support. If her faith isn't just an act, she will also likely gel well with Wynne and Mayat.
I see Wynne and Leliana as potentially the most trustworthy allies beside Alistair -- and Dog, of course! -- and the most suitable company for an upstanding "paladin/protector" character.

My party will be Noma (My mage/PC) Big Fireballs and Shapeshifting.
Shale/Oghren as a tank (depends on how long it takes to get them) Alistar will be a place holder.
Wynne as healer (I'm not gonna learn healing spells unless I really need a seconed healer).
Lynne/Zevran (Haft to play with them for about an hour before I can choose).
All other play throughs will be based on previous knowledge.

PC- Good guy mage
Leliana
Oghren or Alistair (Probably Alistair)
and Wynne
I am a fan of the 1 warrior, 1 rogue, 2 mage party makeup. This is to make spell combos easier to pull off.
Evil Mage
Sten
Morrigan
Sevran
Leliana

I'll be playing as a Mage, so I'll be having offensive counterparts to form my party. Two warriors to engage up front, a rogue for calculated offensives, and me from the rear casting protections/ice-based moves. That's what I am imagining at the moment, anyway... it all might change when I get the game itself.

Lelianna - Rogue
Alistair - Tank
Morrigan - DPS/Heals
Myself - Arcane Warrior (utility)
I REALLY want Dog and Shale, but dont want to turn my PC into a healbot.

Yeah, i just did that.
You should make Alistair a Prot Pally for AoE aggro so your Arms Warrior doesn't pull when you Bladestorm.
Morrigan might be better off as an Elemental Shammy so she can throw an emergency heal without dropping out of Shadow Form. She can also throw up Strength and Windfury totems for your melee DPS.

I'm going for the standart party formation: 2 warriors, 1 rogue and 1 mage.
My PC will be a human warrior focused on two-handed weapons (maul rules!) so my other warrior should be Alistair for tanking reasons (his weapon & shield talents should do the trick). For the rogue spot I'm going to get Leliana whom should stick to bow & arrows. Finally, Wynne will occupy the spot for mage...or should I say healer, eh?
I will be using Dog and Morrigan until I find Leliana and Wynne, respectivily.
