Yeah well why could Femshep never ask Jacob about his day without having to sound like she wanted to rip his clothes off with her teeth in ME2?
Sides, so what Kaiden expressed interest in Maleshep. And you can turn him down. And? He'd probably have done with my FemShep too if I hadn't already re-established her relationship with Liara.
The problem is you CAN'T be friendly to him the whole time without it leading to the emotional coming out scene. It's like if you and Garrus were total bros and then he came out before TIM's base. Just not expecting it at all.
I really don't see the problem. He says "You're a nice guy Shepard, I'm romantically interested in you" and you can say "Sorry Kaiden, not interested".
I mean I never understand why the mere existence of a gay or bi character is "forcing it" on anyone.

Steve Cortez is better. My manshep is with Tali but if he was going the other way Steve is way better than Kaidan. Kaidan is whiny.

I never had any problems with Kaidan trying to romance me.
Anyway, it's no different than Liara in ME1.
True, but then again she is asexual really.

How is this any different than having liara try to romance my femshep? Or having the lesbian romance person come into my quarters then suddenly be in my shower and offer to have me join in?

That word does not mean what you think it means.

So? A lot of my female friends have been hit on by Liara and various other Asari while playing straight femsheps throughout the games and, while they've felt a bit weirded out because they never showed any interest, they have simply let them down as easily as possible. As a lesbian (or at least Liara-sexual) femshep I got hit on by Kaiden in ME1 despite already showing plenty of interest in Liara. Whatever. It hasn't been a huge "omg this makes the games suck" deal for us, we've just dealt with it. Now you know our mild annoyance. I don't know anything about the Kaiden romance because I always pick Ashley at Virmire but I for one felt that Steve was one of the best things about ME3, he just felt so natural and real.

well..technically the asari just reproduce themselves with new dna from the other person. but I get how you were trying to troll me, that's pretty clever.

Kaiden was kinda pulling an Anders wasn't he? One of my friends, he hasn't beaten the game yet. But he plays a male shepard and was joking "Oh my god why does every guy want to bang me?!" He's supportive of homosexuals so he wasn't being hateful. Gave me a good laugh. I just picture his character clinging to Tali who was his romance all "Oh thank god they'll stop now"

No he was no trying to troll you. Asari are monogendered. Asexual means you have no interest in sex. your sexual orientation is that you have no desire to have sex in any way.

Steve's story was great but it would have worked if he was straight too.

Yes, it would, and that's one of the best things about it and was why it felt natural to me. He was just there, being a person. Why should he be straight when it has just as much impact either way and the series is already full of straight men and bisexual women?
