One thing to nitpick other than the ending...unintentially flirtatious dialouge options

I mean come on what about Engineer Adams "Hey Adams, would you mind coming up here and checking the hot water? My shower seems to be a bit cold."
I have about 11 fem Sheps: some are straight, some are lesbian, some are bi. I have one male Shep.
My r/l sexual preference does not necessarily reflect what I play in games.

I didn't like hurting Kaiden either. I wanted to be able to say "I'm straight" not "let's keep this professional." I wanna have a bromance, not give him the cold shoulder. It should have been handled like the Cortez scene "I'm looking at the ladies."
Yeah. I really treated Kaidan as my second "Garrus" as Maleshep throughout ME.

that happens in real life though.
This.
I also hated that certain characters would hit on my Shep or assume she was interested in them because Shepard liked to talk to them (ex. Kaidan, Liara, Mordin, Jack, Kelly, Sam and *shudders* Allers). Regardless of sexual preference, I might add.

Ok so I am a straight guy who hated Ashley so I picked Kaidan cause I thought he was pretty cool. Then in this game if you are nice to him he ends up making a move on you and then you have to crush him by saying you just want to stay friends.
My contention is basically this: why assume we wanted a gay relationship if we kept Kaidan and were nice to him? Nothing my Shepard did should have made Kaidan think I was gay, all I did was try to ressurect our friendship. Besides, he saw I was with Liara/Miranda the whole time.
And finally, I have nothing against there being gay options, I just think this one was a bit forced on you and you HAD to make Kaiden feel like crap if you are a straight guy no matter what (either by being a dick to him on Mars or by turning him down when he gets all emotional).
Totally disagree there... why assume I am straight? I hate it when all these females come up to my male shep. And I hate it when these males hit on my fem shep.
You see what I did there?
You wanted to be nice to someone but didn't want them to think you were interested in them. Sorry but it doesn't always work both ways, not in here or in real life.

By way, calling us "a people that are supposed to be so inclusive" clearly shows us that in no way are you likely to generalize and stereotype the gay community. Or, in your case "those people."
I was more talking about political affiliations, but if you want to make that assumption too that only helps my theory that you're the one trying to be uninclusive by being so rude to me right now.

How is this any different than having liara try to romance my femshep? Or having the lesbian romance person come into my quarters then suddenly be in my shower and offer to have me join in?
I don't really care, i just say no. This stuff happens in real life too, all you have to say is no.
Mainly because Asari are only "female"? They can't really be gay or straight, they have one gender

Ooooh, okay, I'm sorry, I see now that you're were stereotyping us in a GOOD way. How silly of me. And you're right, I am being an exclusive dick. You totally can't join my gay club, and we're having an awesome party tonight. I'd even forgive you and let you in, but, if someone hit on you, you'd have to crush them.

No matter how self righteous you are feeling right now, I garuntee I am a nicer and more accepting person than you in real life. Why are you being so mean to me?

Yeah YOU GOT ME. The guy who makes a thread about FEELING BAD about turning Kaiden down because I DONT want to hurt his feelings is a homophobe who doesn't want "to be exposed to anything to do with gay people ever."
The same guy who supported Traynor, Cortez, and Joker/Edi in their relationships. Please people, GET A LIFE.
Yeah, I do get you. You're hiding behind a false sentiment of consideration, when what you really want is to not have been exposed to the concept of a man hitting on another man. I get this vibe from both your this from the feeble attempts to pass off a Liara/FemShep as an "assexual relationship" rather than a queer one (which it is on Shep's end; the Asari are blatently feminine-enough to warrent the "female" title for gender and relationship arguments. ) and the fact you've not once complained about the lesbian romance options, which are equally suggestive. Hell, Kelly Chambers practically throws herself at both Sheps in ME2, no complaints about that, I notice<_<
I mean seriously, all you needed to do was to start the thread with "Now, some of my best friends are gay" or "I'm no homophobe...BUT".
BTW...EVERY love interest in a Bioware game thus far has made a pass at you at some point once their prerequisites have been met. Why should this be any different for a specific character? What would your answer be? Kaiden and Cortez only show interest when you wear purple armour and tell every NPC that Shep's feeling FABULOUS?

I'm straight and I don't see the problem with same sex relationships. In-game or not.

OP, if you're worried about ninjamancing, i totally understand. This was the first ME game where it actually worried me, due to the lack of dialogue options. However, sexual orientation doesnt really have anything to do with that.
i was worried about my femshep triggering the garrus romance accidently, just by being nice to him. I don't have the heart to be mean to Garrus.

Okay, this settles it. Allow me to present my solution to the problem of straight gamers feeling miffed that they have to turn down gay fellows, and the problem of gay gamers feeling miffed that they have to turn down straight fellows. Ready, mates? Behold:
You decide on your character's sexual orientation (hetero, ****** or bi) at the beginning of the game, right after you finish making his face and whatnot. Perfect solution! Gay gamers get to declare right from the outset that the character they want to play will be gay (and in-game characters respond to your avatar accordingly), and straight gamers can choose to have their character be such and be trated accordingly be the game's characters. No more awkward rejection scenes for either orientation!
Bask in the geniusness of the solution, mates!

Well maybe what I am saying is that the prerequsities for Kaiden were a bit unclear.
And thank you for the compliments. You are a wonderful person as well and I wish you the best in life.
