The devs did say that Mark of The Assassin would "plant seeds" for the future installments. I'm assuming the Qunari will be involved. Hell, maybe the Mage-Templar war will be the least of their problems if the Qunari invade once again.

The stage set in DA2 gives a lot of ways the story can develop.

Of course the main bulk is set on mages/templars but do not forget the growing threat from the spirits of the fade. Refering to the Fell Grimoire and the band of three here.
And there are the intelligent darkspawn/corrupted magisters of old. Their role isn't played out by far.

I hope that the dwarves get a bigger part in the game. It's not unthinkable because of the lost thaig introduced in DA2 which held the idol that did have a calling of its own which the dwarves aren't immune to. We know that besides Orzammar there is another dwarven city: Kal Sharok which we know almost nothing about. What if they are familiar with the red lyrium the idol was made of? They could have gone in a completely different direction then Orzammar.

And of course the eluvian. I hope the developers do something with it. You can put it in use for so many things.

I remember one press event they stated they wanted to do more than one country of thedas. I really hope that were are not forced into an orlesian charecter. I likely just couldn't handle the accents<_<. Well if in the likely Orlais sections I hope the nobels have a party and a wear immensley decadent clothing. I was dissapointed in dragon age 2 when they all dressed so simply. I hope dwarven women show up again rather than be heard about not seen. Apart from Fenris and Merrill the the supposed allure that humans saw in the elves was kind of creepy. If the Orzammar was to be cut off from the world in one scenario would that make things more desperate for the templars?. I hope to see Rhys and evangelien of asunder in any future installments.

i heard there will be 3 maps you can travel to..
Ferelden is the beginning and you can travel to Tevinter(Home of Mages) and Orlais(Home of Templars and Seekers of Truth) = maybe orlais and tevinter will be at war and free marches with seheron or paar vollen? oh right i heard morrigan gets a big role <3 <3
well, i think bioware focuses now only at the templar and mages war...
its interesting and that game needs time if they really want DAIII as a Open World RPG..
just like everytime i play dragon age i will join and help templars

Grim dark storytelling, ridiculous and idiotic player choices, characters which emphasize fanservice over depth, and a conclusion which satisfies no one.

I think i'd hate DA3 as an open world rpg. I prefer my fairly linear story telling. It's easier to keep track off... And what do you mean help the templars?! The mages are the ones facing injustice! ;)

I think they need to tone down user choices. People have been getting to many decisions to make, and they're wanting the story to end the way "they" think it should now. It's cool to shape your own world, it doesn't make sense in a franchise where one story effects another.

Why Wynne would probably be dead, did I miss something?

I'm dreaming about going to Tevinter, I woul love taking my mage there :)

I wouldn't like DA3 to be an open world either. That's why, I'm not playing Skyrim, it gets very boring after some hours, and the story is not even good as DA.

She's old.  Old people die.  The spirit inside of her supposedly was weakening.
