Never buying a 60 dollar game again. Literally me3 was my first 60 dollar game. It's my last one too.
yeah i am never preordering a game and paying $80 again. I am also never buying another Bioware or EA game again. So congrats Bioware over the past five years you must have gotten close to $400 of my money and you would have gotten more but this ending and the way you treated me and other paying players just lost you all of that. Way to go! I am sure your shareholders who you are supposed to answer to will love this news!

It sure will be memorable for the Bioware staff when EA guts your studio for not meeting sales expectations *shakes head in disgust*

I will hold the line, though. This rage isn't going away any time soon.

Depressing. Not sure if I feel like emotionally investing myself in any more of these company's games to be honest, but I guess time will tell.

2012. When I first finished Mass Effect 3 after putting 40 hours into it, plus 80 hours into ME2 and 100+ hours into ME1: WTF did I just watch? That made no sense! And WTF happened to Liara, Garrus, Tali, Joker...? WTF!
I remember the ending to FF7, to this day, because it didn't close anything. Here was a great story that was enjoyable to play and an overall great game.. but an ending that barely wrapped up any loose ends and left all the characters twisting in the wind.
Mass Effect 3's ending is memorable in the same way. The ending made little sense, wrapped up little, and left the characters in limbo. Only instead of Red XIII, we got grandpa.
The point: Yes, both of these endings were "memorable"; Memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Dude you make a mass-market computer game... you're not painting the Sistine Chapel. Even if you think you're as important as a Hollywood Director/Producer how many movies each year can legitimately be called art and not mass entertainment?
This is correct. Mass Effect has always been a player's tale; one that was familar and conventional but one that made us feel emotionally invested.
To turn the ending into some post-modern meta-narrative discourse at the last minute that breaks this emotional investment is not art, it is rubbish.

Feels bad to walk out on BioWare at a time like this though, almost like sending you Alzheimer suffering mother to a nursing home and never visiting her.

I bought the CE for $80. The first time I ever paid for a collectors edition. So yeah I know where you are coming from.

See it from his perspective. He has EA breathing down his neck. He's been working for 8 years on ME only to be rushed at the ending sequence with only a two year dev cycle for a RPG (most require 3-4 yrs min). He has fans about to rip him apart.
Cut the man some slack! Direct your anger to the people at EA or the PR at Bioware but not Casey. In fact, I applaud him for his work (Lead designer for KOTOR and ME trilogy). I only hope that ME3 doesn't bring him down. He shouldn't be the scapegoat here.

I'm pretty sure this doesn't say anything, there was debate as to weather it was indeed indoctrination or not, that's what he was most likely referring to. This doesn't change anything as its just more avoiding to answer anything.
Can we please just wait till March 15 before we finally accept that this game has the worst ending ever.
i'm in the same boat, but this doesn't make me anymore optimistic

I see it as spin because he's under a development contract that says until they officially announce something he can't talk about it, SOP in almost ay industry. People here are too quick to give in to their emotions imho. Stay calm and, well, hold the line.
Yeah it's very much a non-answer. I think part of the problem is the positive spin he puts on it (for PR purposes probably) that people are talking about the ending. It seems to dismiss the tone of the discussion though, which is the problem.
