Guys.

See it from his perspective. He has EA breathing down his neck. He's been working for 8 years on ME only to be rushed at the ending sequence with only a two year dev cycle for a RPG (most require 3-4 yrs min). He has fans about to rip him apart.

Cut the man some slack! Direct your anger to the people at EA or the PR at Bioware but not Casey. In fact, I applaud him for his work (Lead designer for KOTOR and ME trilogy). I only hope that ME3 doesn't bring him down. He shouldn't be the scapegoat here.

No, he's being arrogant and pretentious.

Not convinced this interview transpired after the ****storm started, it was only posted today.

I believe this is true, but talk about possibly the worst sense of timing ever.

This makes me laugh, I didn't lose hope with the response, I lost respect for everything that guy is going to say from now on.

Are you kidding me? you create the worst ending to a trilogy of all time and then just spit out a load of crap of a response to us? I can't believe this.

Was there *anything* else about the franchise that was mysterious? I can't think of a single other thing about the story that was left "up for interpretation." When did this interpretation business start, exactly?

This business started as soon as Shepard left Anderson and went up with the lift to the star child.

You know, I remember that Eidos, the creators of Deus Ex, outsourced the boss battles to another studio. That's why the boss battles in Deus Ex Human Revolution felt so out of place.

I'm beginning to think BioWare outsourced the ending of Mass Effect 3. How else can it be that this ending feels so damn out of place?

It's pretty apparent they think they are artistic geniuses, and our feeble minds 'fumble in ignorance' to their superior writing abilities.

Lots of replies in this thread, but he did mention this as well: We have some really great multiplayer content and some really great single-player content coming over the air, and their feedback will become part of how we design that.

Also, interview is most likely more than a few days old by time of posting

OI all of you... Spectre_Shepard made it clear in earlier threads that no matter what we need to keep it up, if we give up now we will never be taken seriously again. regardless of what casey said.

CONTINUE TO HOLD THE LINE!

i refuse to be dodged like some inanimate object.

xeNNN is correct. This could be a tactic to shut us up in hopes that this will blow over. NO.... Keep it up... Don't let it blow over. Don't let them break you. Don't let them win.

Bioware: Rudimentary Fans of blood and flesh. You touch our minds, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.

Bioware: There is a realm of creative thought so far beyond your own, you cannot even imagine it. We are beyond your comprehension. We are Bioware.

Bioware: We impose order on the chaos of multiple choices. You play as shepard because we allow it, and he will end because we demand it.

Bioware: Your words are as empty as your future. We are the vanguard of your gaming future. This exchange is over.

Really disappointed, I put about 120 hours into one character.

Just to get an ending that gives no closure and has a unnecessary philosophical/poetic feeling to it?
And all just because Bioware wants people debating about the ending?

Ah well, Mass Effect could have been the gamers Star Wars, I am not sure that you achieved it.

The ME trilogy was 95% pure awesomeness... you were so close

As I said arrogant and pretentious. I'll never buy another game produced by Mr. Hudson again.

Dude you make a mass-market computer game... you're not painting the Sistine Chapel. Even if you think you're as important as a Hollywood Director/Producer how many movies each year can legitimately be called art and not mass entertainment?

Well and how many big director/producers make movies that people don't like and get to keep making them?

Also in the pre-order and feeling stupid category. Never trusting a game company with $80 again.

Can't wait for the next time a friend of mine tells me to try TOR...

Hold the Line, brethren. Hold. The. Line.

I think he's just been forced into a situation where he has to play a politician/salesman and cannot possibly be honest about bad things relating to EA/Bioware. His whole job in interviews is to tell sweet lies. I don't know how he feels about it, but it's probably pretty sad.
