It's really this easy for the community to lose hope? Wtf happened to hold the line guys?
I don't care how long it takes, we WILL get a proper ending.

this^

I'm holding the line, I have a uncle who wont be able to beat the game for a few more weeks (Hes a completionist with little time at night to play last I checked he was starting tuchunka) He'll probally say its typical of bioware (Quoting NVN and how they did that right before saying something about the stupid way they made the endings this game) But I'm holding the line, for my family and friends who will get this game, and be dissapointed in the complete disregard for what IS supposed to be true for mass effect.

Which is, Mass Effect is what you make of it, its how you choose to go through the story, and in the end, having no regrets because the choices are what YOU would have done in the situation. Choices which are not just, red, blue, or green btw you just screwed the galaxy a new one. Good job The shepard.

Given the ending that was given to us, any subsequent additions to the series will either need to take place during or before the events of ME3. And here Bioware had said it was going to continue the franchise.

Not happening. I'd already said I don't believe the ending will be changed. Not on our lives. They don't care if we're happy with what we paid for; they only care that our hard-earned cash is lining their pockets. I'm sure the actual devs cared. The ones who don't care are the ones who directed the team and allowed this rushed ending to go through. But they'll talk big about how much they care, for the sake of show, and pretend that everyone's a whiner or a minority who isn't happy when a variety of polls speak otherwise.

I say we make like Garrus, and yell until they do something about it.

But I'm still not holding my breath. Mass Effect was, and has been, among the best gaming experiences I have had--along with Dragon Age: Origins. So, I'd grown to have a lot of faith in Bioware's products. Until the end of ME3. I was so hyped to play the last game. I was grinning like an idiot through most of my playthrough, and occasionally close to tears--right up until the nonsensical ending that didn't give us any closure for Shepard.

If it's the end, it should feel like an end. Not like a cliffhanger.

I guess, if this isn't fixed, I'll be much more careful which games I buy from now on. Uber-dark, depressing endings aren't always good, or fitting, especially when you advertise choice and then don't give us a choice. Shepard dies, but we don't even get the sense of a noble sacrifice. No one mourns Shepard. We don't know what happened to the geth and quarians and krogan and turians. Don't know if the rachni we were told in ME2 were peaceful are going to rampage like Javik warns in ME3.

I'm terribly, terribly sad about all this. It might have turned me to write fanfic, but frankly the ending leaves such a bad taste in my mouth I don't feel like bothering.

Debating? This is the most I've ever seen BSN unified under one subject. The only debate is which plot holes are worse.

For those that don't want to read the entire interview, I'll copy and paste the question and answer here.

What are your thoughts on the reaction to the game’s endings?
I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the
sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating
what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what
situation are the characters left in. That to me is part of what’s
exciting about this story. There has always been a little bit of mystery
there and a little bit of interpretation, and it’s a story that people
can talk about after the fact.

Alright, Casey Hudson isn't this stupid or ignorant. Or arrogant. Now I really am starting to believe that this is all a giant joke, and Bioware is going to have some sort of ending DLC very soon.

If not, then I can look back at this as the moment I truly lost all respect for Casey Hudson

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen this argument in every creative writing class I've ever been in.

The general consensus of some student's story will be that it failed to connect with the audience, it had too many grammar issues, its characters were flat, etc. Then the person who is being critiqued will get all pouty and say "But I meant for it to be that way! You all just don't understand my genius!"

It doesn't work in college-level classes and it doesn't work here. People are certainly discussing your game "after the fact," but I'm positive it isn't in ways you want.

I actually didn't care about biowares crap ending. But hearing stuff like this mixed with cryptic messages is starting to rub me the wrong way. Either just come out and tell us what that special something they have planned is, or they need to just shut up and stop toying with people. World class trolls.

And that sims comment.... Great, that's the only thing in this thread that will get biowares attention :/

I'm going to reserve my judgement, this statement doesnt mean anything. First off who knows when the interview really took place and who knows if he isnt hiding something before an official announcement.

Like I said if the endings are indeed THE END, then they woulds simply say so on Twitter, case closed. We would all be pissed but the controversy would be dead, they would just say "Use your imagination" or "This is how we wanted to end it", either way the issue would be resolved. But since they have NOT done this then that means something else is afoot.

Well and how many big director/producers make movies that people don't like and get to keep making them?

M. Shamylan?(sp?)

To be fair, Shamaylan does know how to make a good movie... Its just he's made that same movie like 12 times.

Actually, plenty of people are debating what they think happened. There are a ton of theories all over this site and other less hostile sites.

The reason people are coming up with their own theories is that it's the only way to make sense of what we got. It's not because the ending was compelling, it's because it makes no sense on it's own.

And the reason it made no sesne is because Bioware got lazy.  All they did was take the ending of 2001 and mash it together with the ending to BSG and call it a day.  It makes no sense because those two endings have nothing to do with eachother and they have even less to do with Star Wars and Babylon 5 which is where the rest of the series came from.  they just mashed a bunch of things together that were never met to go together.

QFT.

If Casey Hudson wants to play politics, then bring it on!!

WE WILL HOLD THE LINE!!

Yeah he wants people to view him as an artist I say we create a facebook page showing how everything Bioware has ever done has been ripped off from something else, how exactly does that make him an artist.

I remember another interview casey hudson gave almost 1 year ago http://www.g4tv.com/...n-epic-trilogy/

The first line of the article :

Mass Effect 3 will be a bittersweet moment for fans; an ending of epic scale incorporating hundreds of variables from the previous games. Casey Hudson, project director for the BioWare franchise talked with PC Gamer about how decisions from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 will transfer to the highly-anticipated finale's ending and how players can grade their success.

How does an ending of epic scale incorporatine hundreds of variables from previous games get boiled down to 3 lacklustre 'endings'

They did have the gall to compare the ending of ME3 to the ending of the Great Gatsby. I suppose they're both written in English.

Just cancelled my SW TOR subscription... didn't play for weeks anyways.

My reason:

Thanks to Mr. Hudsons total disregard of the BioWare fans and the Mass Effect 3 ending controversy, I can no longer support this company.

I know right?

It's like Bioware have become the Reapers, the ending is Earth and we're the different species of the galaxy. Chances are slim that we can change anything, and that this is truely the end, but together we fight!
