It's funny to watch everybody be mad at him, when he's actaully describing whats been going on around here lately.

The difference is that he's presenting it as a good thing. If someone is willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're just pulling their leg and that you're almost finished with the "real" story, then you've a.) failed horribly as a writer and should endeavor to correct your mistakes or b.) are an arrogant "artiste" who can't bring himself to admit that you've done wrong.

It's starting to look more and more like the latter.

So, I kind of feel like Commander Shepard right now, and Casey Hudson is the Starchild. Thankfully this is real life, and I chose option 4: REFUSE.

It's really this easy for the community to lose hope? Wtf happened to hold the line guys?
I don't care how long it takes, we WILL get a proper ending.

HOLD THE LINE!!

A lot of us are involved in Child's play now, and anyone who is doubting that we're remaining calm and civilized people, go look at that thread.

What are your thoughts on the reaction to the game’s endings?
I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the
sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating
what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what
situation are the characters left in. That to me is part of what’s
exciting about this story. There has always been a little bit of mystery
there and a little bit of interpretation, and it’s a story that people
can talk about after the fact.

I find this offensive. I mean, really, really offensive. I've not been this annoyed since actually seeing the ending.

lmao, bravo friend.

Really people, don't just wilt now. That statement is vague in even answering the question asked of him. The worst thing people can do is assume and get disheartened. Wait until a proper response comes before flipping out.

tl;dr HOLD THE LINE!

lol Don't lose faith if nothing else EA likes the money we have. At some point with lost sales they will force the hand or move the title to another Dev easy as that. Anyone can say "oh blah blah deep thought blah baby goats blah blah jazz fingers" (sorry If I missed a blah but I think that's a direct quote) but EA likes money.... This might be the only time ever EAs love of our cash might work for us.

There are better ways to answer that question than the way he did if that's the case.

Though the interview may have happened before this ending stuff started to become an Internet wide sensation, and the site releasing ti had the unfortunate timing if releasing it now.

He's not going to be clueless when the board members of EA and BW want someone's head on a plate for losing them money, customers, and reputation. These people are apparently being shown filtered versions of stuff. Hopefully at Pax they'll find out that people aren't joking around with being unhappy. I've noticed that the ME3 commercials aren't' on tv as much either suddenly.

As I said arrogant and pretentious. I'll never buy another game produced by Mr. Hudson again.

Dude you make a mass-market computer game... you're not painting the Sistine Chapel. Even if you think you're as important as a Hollywood Director/Producer how many movies each year can legitimately be called art and not mass entertainment?

Well and how many big director/producers make movies that people don't like and get to keep making them?

Exactly, give me an artist who doesn't know what his fans will buy, and I'll show you the next bartender at my local watering hole.

Yeah, and I bet there are a lot of new bartenders who suck at PR and handling  customer satisfaction crisises.

What they need to understand is that the only way anyone is going to buy the NEXT game, is if they liked the one before it. BioWare is not advertising Mass Effect 3- Mass Effect 3 is advertising BioWare, and they're not helping themselves in the advertising department.

Since Sunday their messaging has definitely been OPTION B).

Someone should really tell them that pretentious art snobs are the most hated psychographic profile, even worse than video game nerd and lawyer.

I remember another interview casey hudson gave almost 1 year ago http://www.g4tv.com/...n-epic-trilogy/

The first line of the article :

Mass Effect 3 will be a bittersweet moment for fans; an ending of epic scale incorporating hundreds of variables from the previous games. Casey Hudson, project director for the BioWare franchise talked with PC Gamer about how decisions from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 will transfer to the highly-anticipated finale's ending and how players can grade their success.

How does an ending of epic scale incorporatine hundreds of variables from previous games get boiled down to 3 lacklustre 'endings'

my exact thoughts.

Bwuh? I . . . how . . .

So he doesn't care that we hate his ending, just that we have an emotion that results in never forgetting the ending, even if that emotion is hate and a desire to brillo scrub my brain until this ending bleeds out my ear?

Guys, he's not saying that it's done. He's just saying that they really like the fact that the way the endings, AS THEY STAND NOW, are getting people talking and debating and theorizing. This doesn't mean this is all they have planned for the endings, this doesn't mean all of our theorycrafting is out the window, it just means that they're enjoying watching us debate. They could still intend to release more endings, or make each new DLC affect and change the ending (my current theory), or leave things as they are.

IMO, all he is saying is he likes that the series means enough to us that we CARE if we didn't like the endings - we didn't just write it off and say 'oh well, next game'.

I guess that's fair, no point in giving up until an official statement is made.

Still bleak and it should be clarified one way or another.

The fact that they LIKE the reaction their fans are having, though, is mildly disturbing. I certainly don't get off on people lambasting me because I decided to have a banana sandwich end to my story.
