Lol, what?
Does he understand what the word polarizing means?
Because it's not what he thinks it means.
That's almost the EXACT thought that went through my mind. I think his idea of Polarizing may be Casey Hudson and the 1% on one side...everyone else and the 99% on the other...
Then again...maybe he cheers for the 1% overall?
This isn't polarization...it's basically a one sided unhappiness with how the endings went. If this were an election...it would be considered a landslide with little or no opposition to those unhappy with the other side.

Wow he is either PR gold or willfully ignorant of what's going on and I'm not sure [based on his response] which one is right.
Both.

He has a product to promote, units to move. You can't seriously expect him to say: "look, I know the ending is absolutely awful, and we screwed up..." that would crash sales insantly and EA would probably sic the Blue Suns on him.
You said it's only been one week. And you're right.
After ONLY ONE WEEK, you can now purchase a NEW copy on Amazon for almost 25% off (seriously - go to New, then scroll down to the non-major retailers - there's about a dozen selling the game for $45-50).
The longer they wait to respond, the less their words (and their game) is going to be worth.

Modern art and abstract art is somewhat about getting discussion going. The art doesn't necessarily mean anything. its a lot of what you bring to it.
However, this isn't a single piece of art that you buy because you find it interesting, or something you see in a gallery and discuss. Its not even an odd little story, or poem, or song that took you a few minutes to listen to/ read and then you discuss with others.
This is a game that could have had people investing up to 200 hours (conservatively 120, probably closer to 150 or more) and through out went a certain direction - a direction that was largely created by the player. For it to suddenly flip around and have this silly SURPRISE! ending isn't clever, its stupid. And could be very bad for them financially.

He still didn't give a definitive answer... I am not ready to back off yet.
I mean....very true. But, still, instead of doing something to lessen the heat and even turn down some of the rage, he says...this?
It's ****ing mind-blowing.

Yeah, we're screwed. When the people in charge are this out of touch, might as well just move on.
There's no chance he's just spinning things is there?
Yes, there absolutely is. Today marks the one week anniversary of its release. One. Week.

We're not screwed. Don't get discouraged everytime one of these guys plays the game. It's what happens behind-the-scenes that counts, and they will address this. At some point. It's not like they're going to walk into PAX next month and pretned none of this is happening.
Makes me wonder how much screening there wil be at PAX. Somehow I doubt they want to spend most of the panel fielding a bunch of questions about the ending.
