Claiming everyone is going to die/starve to death/etc is merely speculation. C'mon folks. You're better than that.

Nah man. That ending made sense with the theme and narrative of the movie. I also liked Red Dead Redemption and Arkham City, even though I cared about the people who unfortunately don't carry through to the end of that game.

This idea that people hate "X type of ending" universally is pretty goofy. Endings need to match what came before.

You're comparing a non-interactive movie in which people invest 2 hours of their time to a highly interactive, evolutionary game that people spent 100+ hours playing over 3 titles spanning 5 years?

im wondering how poeple think theyve figured out the ending, or assume they know exactly what happened. the ending is a literal cluster**** of WTF.

lets start with a real simple and easy one: why didnt my gun need to be reloaded?

"OT: Arkham City... now THAT'S how you pul off an epic ending."

Yeah, something like that would have been a million times better. There was actual *gasp* foreshadowing.

"

Analyzing it is hard because it was thrown together incoherently. It's like looking for patterns with no right answers because of the lack of thought put into the craft.

I saw one ending video where Shepard relaoded right after killing the last Marauder, which I thought was strange since I simply could not reload at on 360 and didn't need to. I'm assuming the poster played on PC or PS3.

Inception wasn't a trilogy that ended in an anticlimatic fashion due to a Dues Ex Machina.

Oh, it's unforgettable all right... unforgettable bull-****! 5 years down the ****ing drain! Why, BioWare? Why don't you just get it? I'll give you credit for one thing: you are the biggest trolls of the year!

5 years... 5 long years... :crying:

Well, going to join the many others that are holding the line. Going to try and remain hopeful, however, my SW:TOR has been cancelled. Not going to keep feeding money to a company that has lied with quotes:

Casey Hudson: 'So similarly you’re going to want to do more, and be more successful, and make better choices throughout. And then that, combined with more personal or more moral choices about how to deal with things… those things will ultimately affect part of the end game, which is pretty amazing.'

Link here: http://www.pcgamer.c...fect-3s-ending/

“But with Mass Effect 3, this is really the opportunity to do whatever
we want with the reminder of the story – which means players can do
whatever they want with the remainder of the story. Your decision can
have much bigger consequences, things that you’ve done earlier can have
much bigger consequences.

“It’s really astronomical. The number of different ways that you can
play it, the combinations of different decisions that you can make, and
then all the different ways that the story can end up depending on what
you’re doing.”

Oh, and this here:

Q: So the Mass Effect universe is a long term thing, even though Shepard's adventure is ending?
A: (From CH) There are now technologies coming out for platforms, different ways in
which people will be distributing games in the next generation, so all
of that is congealing. We don't have specific plans yet, but we know
that we're going to do something.

Link here: http://www.computera...ss-effect-game/

And of course, this article here where he states "you'll get an amazing, very definitive ending."

Link here: http://www.shacknews...choices-endings

Also, this article here:
http://www.g4tv.com/...n-epic-trilogy/

Discusses how "Your Choices Will Shape A Bigger, Better Ending To An Epic Trilogy"

These are all interviews post release. Very disappointed at the hype and the lies. It is why I have cancelled my tor account and why I am refusing to buy another Bioware game. However, I will still be here, on the forums, waving my smg  because we need to voice our objections. We need it to be known that we remember your words, the words that gave us hope, that made us look forward to the franchise, and that you have lied to us, and we will not stand for it. We WILL voice our discouragement, we WILL call you out on your crap, and we WILL hold the line.

Dude there is no way this kind of thing doesn't get vetted by the big guys.  Trust me, the decision to do this had to be okayed from the top, likely was made at the top. My guess is it's most likely a money grab & also a FU to people who resell their games after playing them.  DLC will be on the way.

Casey Hudson himself stated that he is very active in the writing project and was happy with how it was going. Plus, in another article, he shared how they finished the game well in advance and it gave them time to plan out their DLC. So, meh..Liars and cheaters imho.

ofcourse they finished ahead of schedule.  Easy to do that when you don't plan on finishing something in the first place.

Then I guess everyone hated the ending to Monty Python and the Holy Grail :P

So let's make it unforgettable by tossing out every decision the players ever made and crushing any chance at closure to their story. Also let's introduce a completely random variable at the end whilst meanwhile doing away with core game play concepts (dialogue wheel, paragon/renegade). And the final piece, Shepard completely going along with what a self identified reaper wants him to do.

How does that make any sense? It doesn't! Therefore it is memorable!

Every day Bioware sits back and refuses to address this literally in a coherent way (i.e. not that pathetic excuse for an answer Hudson gave) they are pushing their fans away. DAII wasn't great guys...Mass Effect 3's ending is awful. Do you want us to buy games or what?

Let's suffice by saying that after the deception called DA2 and now ME3 (including a day 1 DLC that was originally part of the game). I froze my SWtoR account earlier for preparations on a Mass Effect save, and I won't be re-opening it.

If all Bioware does is letting you pay before letting you down, and giving you the finger afterwards - I'll take my leave. Pity, really - they were doing so damn good!

What are you most proud of with this third game in the franchise?

I think what I’m most proud of is that we’ve told a story that will be remembered. I think so much of what we set out to do was create something that would be a memorable experience for people that they would think about after they played it. There’s so much throwaway entertainment out there. I didn’t just want to make something that was essentially the videogame version of a popcorn movie. I wanted to make something huge and exciting and the biggest thing possible that felt like a blockbuster and had that big action science fiction feel.

What are your thoughts on the reaction to the game’s endings?

I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in. That to me is part of what’s exciting about this story. There has always been a little bit of mystery there and a little bit of interpretation, and it’s a story that people can talk about after the fact.

to me, the entire 3 mass effect games are now forgettable and throw away. i wish i could get my money back on them. the ending is seriously that bad..i cant believe bioware sent shep and his team off like this

Well, the interview is about 11 days old minimum now.
There's been a lot of change and subsequent information since then.
it may not lead to anything, but you never know...

Holding the line but paying attention.

Hitler was pretty unforgettable. It's an extreme example, but I think everyone get's my point. Caligula. Benedict Arnold. Osama bin Laden. Being remembered isn't necessarily a good thing. In fact, it's pointless without being remembered for the right reasons. And right now, everyone knows about ME3 for all the wrong ones.
