If my dog got run over by a truck at the age of 5 it's unforgettable. But... it's not something I want to remember, it's scarred into my mind by horrible circumstance.

My Dog = one of my favorite game series

It's a rather involved process that is basically a hack and is only tolerated because nobody has abused it horribly yet. I don't know if it still works even, but there are blogs on the BSN detailing it if you google search.

Polarizing? The only polarizing debate I've seen is whether or not the ending is a hallucination. Almost everyone agreed that the ending, as is, sucked hard.

Wellllll.... a few like it.  But I think that is a small minority, being generous, I'll say 10%.  Probably less.  That means the other 90% are varying from "huh?" to "That was... dissapointing." (what i would consider the majority) to "@#$%*!!!!"

Not a good way to have a sizable chunk of your customers.

Actually, plenty of people are debating what they think happened. There are a ton of theories all over this site and other less hostile sites.

Own up to what? They wrote the ending they wanted to write and clearly have some sort of DLC plan that may explain what happened in greater detail. Just because you and others don't like the ending doesn't mean they need to own up to anyhing. There are plenty of people who like the endings.
