I thought $79.99 was a nice symbolic number. That's what I paid for the N7 edition. No matter what, the kids win...

You can donate with a credit card.Goober2049 wrote...
If I hadn't deleted my Paypal account, I would totally donate to this.
Since that isn't an option for me, I will just continue to Hold The Line!
Grats on breaking 25k as well

The fact that it has to do with the endings is excessive. The charity bit for children is fine. I just don't think the two should be put together like that. It's like that story of the guy that was raising money for Weezer to stop making music. I honestly hope you people don't think I'm against charity. I guess I'm sorry for the miscommunication
Why shouldn't they? The history of the Internet is rife with movements that get massive attention, media coverage and change because people get outraged on their coffee break and click a button on Facebook or go to a petition site and enter their name on a form and click "I agree".
Every dollar donated is a dollar that says "I am motivated enough about this issue to SPEND MONEY instead of just venting about it. I will put skin in the game to PROVE that I mean what I say and that you should damn well pay attention to it."
In short, donations to Child's Play in the name of this effort are a win for two reasons. Firstly because Child's Play is an awesome charity and deserves every cent it gets and more. And secondly because it shows we mean what we say- we're not just sitting here whining.
Every penny spent is worth ten thousand entries on some useless petition that only needs you to type "/signed".
This means something.

Hard to turn away, isn't it? I've forgotten about the endings for the moment. My eyes are glued to how much we can make for the kids

Doing a Childplay donation drive linked to the ME3 ending complaints is just short of brilliant. Everyone wins... but especially the kids.

I like the fact that children are getting money.
However,
Even IF this somehow works and EA/Bioware make changes to the ending it will not be free. No matter how much money you raise. The are going to release some DLC pack that extends the endings or whatnot for $10 bucks. That's what EA really cares about. Not the community donating to Child's Play, but the amount of money they will get out of their customers.
It's sad to think about, but all this is letting them know that they will make a killing off of future content because the community is this strongly committed.
Again, I love the fact that children are getting donations. I do not like the fact that it takes the ending of a video game to make people donate in the first place.
I'm out.

I really, really hope that this movement of ours gets some major media attention too. Not just the Gaming webzines, but you know, MAJOR news outlet/news paper.
Damn, I am going to donate again just for that.
Hold the Line people!

Whatever it takes, right? I'm glad something constructive came out of this. Even if nobody buys another BioWare game ever again, it's nice to see that people are trying to make a difference.

We just take positive advantage of the fact that there are so many ppl involved in the protest, so it doesn't matter what we are fighting for.notDestin wrote...
