why did you pick childs play for the donations when penny arcades news/gaming blog site thing doesn't agree with you, and now @cwgabriel tweets: Just beat me3. I had no problem with the ending.

so he doesn't even stand with you about this.

i mean it's great to donate and i am totaly sure they will take your money just fine even when they dont agree with you, just wonder why you chose penny arcades charity over a different one?

Its about being able to agree to disagree, sure whether the person who started the charity knew that the person had no quams with the ending it doesn't mean don't work with them. Its still a good cause and these kids shouldn't be shunned just because the guy didn't agree with the cause.

Come on man! Lets cooperate with one another, not matter what happens, we can look back at this and take pride.

Because it's a good cause and Gabe's opinion is irrelevant?

Just, you know- as a guess.

right, this is one of the most recognizable things we can do for our cause. NO WAY will this go unnoticed

Because it's video game related and a good charity. So what if PA doesn't agree.  It's a charity relevent to the video game community.

never did i say don't donate or we shouldn't donate to childs play, i have given to them for the last 4 years, i just wondered why this charity would be chosen over another when they don't support the cause itself.

i also find it odd a lot of people would boycott bioware or EA for not giving them an ending (or making them pay for it in DLC) they want, but then donate to a charity that is run by people who also don't agree with you. it's a small principle question i guess.

i am for the fact the kids will see the money so it shouldn't matter, i just wondered is all.

This is a great idea, except what if Bioware just decides to keep the endings the way they are so that people will keep helping kids?

Truth be told, we'll still have won out. We may not get the endings we want, but we've still made some good in the world . That said, we'll still keep trying for those new endings!

Donations seem to be slowing down for the night, but 27k in one day is phenomenal, hell, even 10k TOTAL would've been beyond my expectations, just proves that ME fans are awesome people.

If I may point out.. childs play has really grown in the past years past Penny Arcade.. Yes they were started by PA, but they have grown to be their own entity beyond PA.. yes PA is still associated but child's play is so much more then what it was when started.

Likewise, in the end, the politics of it all really don't matter in the slightest. The kids who need it the most are being made happy, or at least given a little distraction from their problems. And that's just awesome.

A mere $100 away from $28,000. :P C'mon, let's get there so I can update and go to sleep before I start waiting for it to roll over another grand!

And there it is.

I actually can't sleep.

First I was losing sleep over the ending due to confusion and depression (I finished ME3 right after a close relative's funeral to cheer me up - bad call). Now, I'm just elated, excited and admittedly confused over the success of this drive. It's absolutely surreal.

The fact that it has to do with the endings is excessive. The charity bit for children is fine. I just don't think the two should be put together like that. It's like that story of the guy that was raising money for Weezer to stop making music. I honestly hope you people don't think I'm against charity. I guess I'm sorry for the miscommunication

Why shouldn't they? The history of the Internet is rife with movements that get massive attention, media coverage and change because people get outraged on their coffee break and click a button on Facebook or go to a petition site and enter their name on a form and click "I agree".

Every dollar donated is a dollar that says "I am motivated enough about this issue to SPEND MONEY instead of just venting about it. I will put skin in the game to PROVE that I mean what I say and that you should damn well pay attention to it."

In short, donations to Child's Play in the name of this effort are a win for two reasons. Firstly because Child's Play is an awesome charity and deserves every cent it gets and more. And secondly because it shows we mean what we say- we're not just sitting here whining.

Every penny spent is worth ten thousand entries on some useless petition that only needs you to type "/signed".

This means something.

well said sir

Wow. Anyone else love how this turned out? Bioware craps all over our hearts and souls, and what to we do in return for this mistreatment? We donate to ****ing charity! +1 hope for humanity.

Seriously though, whoever said that the ME community are crazy and terrible for wanting a new ending can go shove it! (Though, the crazy part still stands, just in a good way now! lol)
